In this mod there will be many things related to the republic in it. Such as items and such.

I am reskinning the PC's clothes to look republicy. I have finished the male Soldier.

That's actually pretty nice. Good work:)

Yes Kyr'am!

05-31-2010, 02:22 PM
Looks good! Can't wait to see the other stuff you make.

05-31-2010, 02:41 PM
Nice! It rivals Silveredge9's Republic Commando suit!

Nice! It rivals Silveredge9's Republic Commando suit!

I don't remember SilverEdge's enough to say whether it's better, but it did remind me of Brotherhood of Shadow.

Looks Great Ky'ram

My Thoughts Exactly

Indeed it reminds us of the republic commandos in BoS, but this one looks different. Anyway, GREAT job kyr'am.

Looking forward to a final release...:thmbup1:

you're off to a good start, but you seem be having a few problems with the uvw map; there are a few places where the red is broken up by grey points (like the armpits). Also, if you wanted it to look more like an in-game Republic uniform, you might want to make the pants grey/black with wide red/orange stripes on the sides. I think it would look great if it resembled Trask's uniform with extra leather and padding on top.

That is killer awesome. I really like the combination
of the Orange and Yellow. Really does look like something
a Republic Soldier would wear. Would look cool with
the helmet too.

Would look cool with
the helmet too.
I think it would cool with a new helmet model (like this one (http://planetrenders.net/renders/displayimage.php?album=search&cat=0&pos=46))

Well... For some reason, every time I try to take a screen from in game, it turns out black. I dunno why. I'm going to take redrob's advice and edit this. Thanks, guys!

EDIT: I think I'm going to keep it as-is. However, I will be making all the new clothing textures a different armour with some decent stats. Like armoured clothing...

I have also finished the Female soldier.

06-01-2010, 07:35 PM
I like 'em. Though maybe you should add a helm.

Maybe... Next is the Scout...

I also have made armours for both the Soldier and Scout. I've decided to not replace the default clothes, as that would be a big fat target on Taris. :xp:

Soldier (Note that the stats will remain the same through all three armours, Soldier, Scout, and Scoundrel)

And pics for this mod will be found in this album: Republic Pack (http://lucasforums.com/album.php?albumid=630)

I really like how the scout looks, but that chest plate in the middle looks a bit random how it is now with the zipper leading up to it and all...

Kyr'am Galaar
06-01-2010, 08:14 PM
Yeah... I should probably get rid of the zipper... >_>

Dak Drexl
06-01-2010, 08:18 PM
Then I think the chest plate would look cool :)

06-01-2010, 09:32 PM
That'd be great ... I mean, uploading this as new items :) ...

Personally I prefer how this fits in females, it looks more polished somehow :raise: ...

keep stuff coming :thmbup1:

I updated the scout texture to have no zipper.

Again keep up the great work :D

Thanks, Rinku. Plus, any ideas for new republic items(other than the mask that has been suggested many times, be aware that I will make one!) will be welcome. Plus any suggestions for the current stuff that I already have will also be appreciated.

A republic style robe like in BoSSR - that was awesome.

06-01-2010, 10:25 PM
Here are a few ideas.

I think it would be cool if you make different levels of armor models for each class while making them seem similar.

Ex. - Soldier:
Light Armor - What you have now, is good through the first couple of planets.
Medium Armor - Different model (looks a bit more advanced) but keeps the same type of theme. Lasts a few more planets (before not effective)
Heavy Armor - Again a different model, a bit more advanced than last time. Lasts for the rest of the game.
***If you do a helmet you might want to make multiple and have them coincide (theme and stat wise) with the armor***

PM me if you need it explained more thoroughly.

Additionally, maybe redo the npc republic soldier armor, make look more in line with the armor you have made (idk just throwing that out there).

nice stuff

Very awesome work Kyr'am! These won't restrict force powers will they?

06-01-2010, 10:44 PM
Sounds cool Rinku. PM me. And one last thing before I hit the hay.

Female Scout!

EDIT: @Jai'galaar: Nope! No restrictions! Just bonuses!

looking good, especially the pants. The yellow chest plate looks a little out of place (I always think that it is part of the shoulder and stomach padding that sits over top of the grey sweat shirt). Still, you look like you've implemented it well. The only other thing that sticks out is the brown leather vest. Maybe it could be black/grey to match the boots/pants? Just a suggestion, since it still looks good the way you have it.

Another idea would be to do a Republic version of the Sith armour. You could make a new line for it in the appearance.2da, and then make a disguise .uti so that you could wear a full face masked assault/riot armour. Maybe the soldiers on the Endar Spire weren't equipped with it because they were serving on a ship, and it only gets issued for urban assaults.

Thanks Redrob. I'll be sure to make that sith armour reskin. :thmbup1: And I was planning on making the brown parts grey anyway... >_>

.:Lord Revan:.
06-02-2010, 10:12 AM
I think if you are going to keep the yellow chest plate than you should put yellow shoulder pads on them both and don't listen to redrob about the brown vest it gives it a cool twist. :D

06-02-2010, 10:22 AM
Heh... Well... I'm trying to make it look as close as possible to the default Republic armour. :) I'll work on everything when I get home. Look forward to the scoundrel skin later today!

EDIT: However, yellow shoulder pads isn't a bad idea. I'll try that. :thmbup1:

06-02-2010, 11:13 AM
Nice work so far. I like the scout especially:)

Here is the Scoundrel!

I'm going to reskin the default republic armour to have a more vibrant red instead of that yucky orangish-red color that it currently has.

I've finished the Republic Commando skin. It is modelled after the Sith armour. It will NOT replace any of the current sith.

06-03-2010, 01:36 PM
i'd switch it around so the majority is gold and the rest red. it looks wayyy too much like the sith commando at the moment

06-03-2010, 05:56 PM
I agree with what was said above, and you might want to tone down the CM_BareMetal a bit. He looks a bit like candy. :p

Still, great work though Kyr'am.

More vibrant red for the regular troopers!

That looks really nice. You're coming up with some really cool designs. :)
