this mod is one of the biggest RC mods ever (with the arc trooper mod or RCII form sqon!) this mod includes a new campaign with missions on raxus prime, munilinst, a shipyard, and an unknown planet (outer rim), new multiplayer maps and maybe 1-2 CO-OP missions!

the mod got a cool, and a bit tragicle story! you'll operate together with the dread squad! the end of the story is cool and unexpected! here is a trailer:

Looks great, but the lightsaber is too static. I'm not sure how you'd do it, but could you try making it more dynamic? Dynamic I mean that the blade flickers on the edges and things. Are you planning on adding any lightsaber sounds for it as well?

This mod looks really nice! And the lightsaber is pretty good, but it needs a flickering glow, new animations and sounds.

RC3556 do u know how to edit the sounds ? is not so hard just slow. in the properties every wep listed has a cell for fire sound . you can copy the mpvoices (because it is small pak 35mb) and then in sound u kan import sounds to replace voices then reference fire sound to your nu pak. its just a case of copying pak paste elsewhere and change name slightly. eg MP_Voice.uax change to MP_Voice1.uax the fire sounds are all listed in the GEN_Sound.uax normally and its a massive file 120mb to copy just for a few nu sounds.

Hmm. By "better skins". What do you mean? Will they be...sharper/more detailed? Or just increased contrast and desaturated?

And what meshes are you referring to?

Cyro- By "tank" you mean large projectile chucking behemoth? Or "tank" as in pathetically small metal or plastic shape used to contain a substance?

If it's the large projectile chucking kind, does it have animations? Or does it just sit there?

it's just a static mesh! just a small vehicle with triple A turrets! and unfortunately you can't destroy it, drive it and it doesn't hurt you! it's just for "the atmosphare!" sometimes they appear and are killed by infantery or an airstrike!

i already thought about an pickup E web gun! its on my list! landmines too!
the remote droid! i never understood what they are for! i can pick em up, but i cant use em!
SBD blaster...i dont think so! how could a commando use it?

trando knife...i've already seen it in a mod! but i propably could make it better ;)
geonosians wont appear in my mod! (i hate em!)

- yeh but youd need to find the static mesh for e web i dunno where itis.
- ive tested landmines already but couldnt get them to detonate.but theyd be great
- the remotedroid is only got a pikup entry youd need to create a nu inventory listing for it and engineer characteristics.
- ive tested the sbdblaster and droideka blaster and they not bad as weps jus u have to rotate the meshes first and change the attachment entry for it cos it covers the 2 weps in 1 and create a nu entry for the other ..
- geo forcepike (weapon) i meant not geonosian aliens !

Okay. First, third person might not work. Unless you could find a way to aim properly in 3rd person. I want to be an animator when im older, so it could be good practise for me. And dont you think its a bit early to plan another mod? Stick to the first one until its finished, and maybe you and our group (Carbonite Modders) Could join together to create RC 3?

Someone PLEASE post a link to an animation tutorial for unrealed or something. I'm skilled at stop-motion animation (it takes a really long time :p) but I need to know HOW to animate something before I can start animating.

A good tut for animation would be blender.org tutorials for blender. Depends what program your gonna use

Some vehicle skins wont import, so I only have 4 that work. I dont know why the rest dont

animation tutorial for which program?
i use blender and there are many tutorials for it. its quite easy; only problem is that it does not work properly ;).
have worked on animations for a while and there was only 1 successful test yet(though it was just a little 3-bone animation).
im not sure whats wrong but sometimes the mesh gets screwed up or works only partially. at least the editor accepts the psa/psk files.
btw, seems like the psa-files i've created make no troubles with udk, so maybe there is something wrong with the importer of the editor.

Me? I was trying to animate a clone trooper I found online after hours of hunting. Its just confusing with all the numbers and stuff.

well, there are a couple of other programs you could use. xsi, maya, 3ds-studiomax for example.
if you don't like blender i'd try xsi, because its free.(at least there is a free version and i'm not sure but i think you can also make animations with it. and there should be an actorx-exporter.)
have tested it once and it's quite easy. blender is more irritating at the beginning.
maya and 3ds max are great programs but really expensive.
normally it should also work with blender. you can either download a script for a psk/psa-exporter here (http://www.katsbits.com/tools/#unreal) or you can download blender 2.5 or higher which should contain the exporter.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ps0nXS8ib8Q shows you how to make an easy blender animation and how to import it into udk. we're not working with udk but importing is quite easy and does not need a tutorial. just open the animationbrowser and go to file>import mesh/import animation.

i only would need some animations for clone troopers, like if a clone stands arround without a weapon or if a clone with weapon gets hit at his shoulder!

sure, you can add that way more than 3 bones and you can take a more complicated mesh. that tutorial explains how it works in general.
animations for a clone would be the same. well, its way harder and you would have to regard boneweighting and so on but theoretically its the same.

well here an update: THERE WIL BE A SPACE BATTLE!
you can't fight it! not really! but:

there is a pretty good video sequence! if anyone here got a good munificant model it would be great! or can anyone here give me a good object converter from .msh to ase?

in this battle you'll be in a republic assauld cruiser! (RAS) you might can use turbolasers to kill enemy fighters!

You can use Swbf mesh viewer to convert .msh to .vlm(or something like that i don't remember) so after that you could open it in blender and convert it to .obj. Then you can open your .obj in Softimage Xsi and convert it in .ase but you have to download the right plugin. This is probably not the faster way but it works ^^.

Here it is


With this viewer, you can convert .msh files to .wrl and so you can import it in Blender. But I don't remember if you need any plugin or not. In blender, you can convert to .ase or to .obj and import it in xsi to convert it into .ase (:

well...i wanted that RCIII is an Caroproductions mod! i am the cyroproductions leader! and i dont want to join any other modding groups!

but after RCIII i want...if i've runned some tests, to recruit some modellers and animators! i want to make an epic SP game in 1st person! story: end of the earth in 2235! an underground energy network collapsed and the whole earth surface was destroyed! 7,9 billion human died! just 2000 escaped on board of an evacuation ship! 10 years after flying through space, they found another planet to settle down, not knowing, that this is the beginning of a war against aliens on this planet! very...special aliens!

ouh...! my english is sooooo bad! ::

but this will be the story of my game!

Sounds vaguely like Marathon. ;) And you English isn't that bad. (I've known people who's first language was English that write worse than you do. Actually, your English is about as good as my Spanish. :D ) I wish you the best of luck with both RCIII and your later game(s). If I can't convince you to join, might I suggest that our two groups collaborate on some level? Share resources or something like that? Regardless, I look forward to downloading RC II. :)

but if they'll be fixed, what shouldn't be so difficult, they'll be in RCII!
and the dc-16...forget it! i used an WESTAR M11 rifle! looks a bit like the WESTAR M5 from the acr trooper mod! but in my eyes it looks better! (weapon with attachments!)

oh, and: 3rd person is in progress! when it is finished, you can switch between 3rd and 1st person like in battelfront! (JUST PLANS! but possible)

Yeah, that's the right expression Cyro :) And you may want to use periods instead of exclamation points, if you put exclamation points all the time it seems like you're constantly excited ;)

From playing RC a lot, there most likely will be animations for 3rd person. The extent of them, however, is questionable. If you've ever used 3rd person in campaign or multiplayer you'll notice that it doesn't move your arms when you perform a melee attack, etc.

well darth vada, there will be jumping animations! but the only problem so far is to enable the hud after using the code "freecamera 1"! i've moved the player to the left, so it looks loke in mass effect, or in bfII after zooming!

Actually, you already are sprinting :p Except it's soo incredibly slow, no one notices. If you look in the controls you'll see there's a walk option button.

Each weapon in properties has whats termed a PLAYERSPEED MODIFIER you can alter you can also alter the GROUNDSPEED of the players.

hey! sorry for not answering for so long! so, here are the news:
1. there will be cinematic cutscenes (with special effects)
2. the new ego weapons have finished now! Westar M5 (Modified) and DC-17 pistol (captain rex) aaand: PLX Rocket Launcher!
3. now you can sprint! i made a sprint function and i found someone to make sprint anims COD6 Style! by the way...
4. there will be new hud arms anims and clone anims!
5. we added some new models and will replace the advanced spider walker with the original from the movies!

Are you going to fix the DC-15a blaster rifle to where when it fires it doesn't look like it is firing from the middle of the rifle? Great vid and keep up the great work.

Ok i've tried the beta version and here is my experience:

I think it is great an introduction with the trainning.
Its exactly like in the clone wars 3D series. GREAT!!

But i only can play that first "map". After i get to the top and get the flag
it takes me to a room with 4 clones and there i can do nothing. maybe it is
because is a beta and the first map is all i have, but just in case it is not all...
But i can go through the walls.
Oh, if you are killed in the first part, and you call one of the others to
get bacta to you, the game crashes.
Also the squad doesnt go forward too well, they stay in the middle three of the four times i played.
Last thing, the weapon used doesnt have a zoom, i mean you can click right button and you "have zoom" but the gunsight is black or yellow, but you cant see through it.

I hope this help you to improve, but in anycase thank you very much for this mod of this incredible game!! im looking forward for a complete version of this mod :thmbup1:

Yes i experienced all same as menehir talked of. But nevertheless not bad.
But to be honest i find the HUD not so good . the original or even the carbonite HUD is better . the health bar restricts the vision. But the weapons work good.
Myself ive noticed mod weapons seem to work good in SP but in MP theyre buggy.
I think the answer for MP is to make the dc15 pistol the default 0 wep u spawn with and your mod weapon the secondary wep then when u switch wep the hud arms work good.

Erm, just wanted to ask, so all the VO's writing menue ect will be in english. What about Voice Overs though, as ive just noted. May of missed it but will all the speech be in english. If not...:(

this mod is one of the biggest RC mods ever (with the arc trooper mod or RCII form sqon!) this mod includes a new campaign with missions on raxus prime, munilinst, a shipyard, and an unknown planet (outer rim), new multiplayer maps and maybe 1-2 CO-OP missions!

the mod got a cool, and a bit tragicle story! you'll operate together with the dread squad! the end of the story is cool and unexpected! here is a trailer:

So true, but for missions and things will there be subtitles just to clarify. And this will be the 1st time in a while that ive considered playing a single player RC mod. good job XD

hi all!! i've been away a few years, but haven't forgot about this mod (which i presume is gonna be great). so after reading this comments, and those on moddb, im not pretty sure: is the final version already released?
