View Full Version : Need Guidance MI4

Hello Everyone
Could use some help here. I finished
the first 3 Monkey Island and had fun
trying to find all the clues.
But maybe I used up all my brain power.
Because I am stuck in MI4 and haven't
barely started.
I can't figure out how to past the
catapult guy.. I have the pretzels.
But, when I give them to him and he
goes away, as soon as I go to the machine
he comes back.
I've been everywhere and can hardley find
anything to pick up.
Any hints appreciated. Maybe I lost me
brains in the last island (HEH HEH)

There is a pretty obvious item hanging around the docks, maybe that could be used in some way with the catapult operation

Take a look at the "calibration cactus" near the mansion...does it's shape remind you of anthing?

I already have the inner tube and put it on
the cactus. But, could not figure out what
to do with it.
Raven , will look at that cactus again.
Thanks for the good hints without giving
it away.

You know, I bet that if someone went fiddling with the catapult's controls, that catapult has to be re-calibrated all over again.

Am I just getting over to the catapult
to slowly? Every time I get over there
he comes back before I have a chance to
do anything.
I am on the verge of killing that catapult
guy , He is really starting to annooy me.
I hate these arrow keys for moving guybrush
I always seem to be going in the wrong direction.
Got more pretzels , go try again, ARGGG!

Did you pick up something in the harbor?
If so, it might be useful!

Re going in wrong direction.
Have you pressed F1 and Options and checked that the Movements Mode is correct?

you should set the control mode to camera relative. Anybody should know by know that defaults are ALWAYS wrong.

06-21-2001, 01:22 PM
I can't remember, but I think I used the default.

Well that was too simple. Just not
getting over to the catapult soon enough.
I have it set for camera relative.
Thanks for you hints.
Onward to new adventures. See if
I can get on to Lucre Island.
