Is there any way that I can take an audio (voice) file from KotOR and view it outside of the game?
You'll need Miles Sound Tools for that.

Have you tried simply renaming them to .mp3?
Make a copy of the file, so you don't have to reinstall your game, and rename it... maybe do it in a newly made folder so you have a little bit of a sandbox. Rename it and play it with WMP or whatever you like. Not sure, but I seem to recall that this works in some cases.

There are older versions that are freeware and will work just with the game's audio files.

Do you by any chance know where I can get an early version for free..?
Not offhand, but you can Google it. :)
Look for version 7.0t.

Cannot find a link that doesnt redirect me to the main website. This is problematic.
You're right. Looks like they're not giving away anymore.
Sorry. :(
