If Grim Fandango plays well on my computer, is that a safe bet that EMI will also?

While there are no offical requirements yet, the answer is most likly yes. Since EMI is based on the GRIME engine, and Lucasarts wants as many people to play EMI as possible, my guess is that you'll be fine.

Grim Fandango didn't work on winNT, does anyone have any clue if EMI will work on winNT (most likely not) or win2000?

It is safe to say EMI probably will not work on Win NT, however Lucasarts should add support for Windows 2000. If they didn't, I think many people will be upset.

If you have a 3D card (no matter if it's Voodoo 1 or Matrox G400 MAX), EMI will probably run fine. And it might support Direct3D hardware emulation.
