Um... was it really necessary to post the same message to all the different boards?

Wait, what music box?

The music box from the vault of the bank, which is needed to get the prosthetic hand?

The inability to find the chef after following him into the kitchen.

What? There was never a point in the game where you actually follow him to the kitchen... You need to draw him out, so that you can get in, not the other way around. And after you do what you need in the kitchen, you won't need to look for him, as the scripted event should automatically place, and he'll give you what you need.

Any idea why it's on a server that just has the IP, but no domain name?

yeah pretty god damn lame to post it on every single msg board

Not everyone might check each topic index - honestly, you try and help people and they shove it back in your face - do you people just come to these message boards to whinge or what? I'm not even from the US, I'm from the UK, so I didn't have to post it at all - the patch is no good to me! Geez, I'm just trying to help. If you don't like it simply don't read them all.

Hey Chris you did the right thing. Most people
just read a few boards. Hey you guys he's just quoting what it says on the Lucasarts support site.

Americans say whine, the British say whinge

Posting the exact same message to different boards is not a good idea. In USENET, we call it SPAM. http://www.escapemi.com/forums/frown.gif

Not that I don't trust you (okay, maybe I don't), but your message contained three elements that made me feel wary:

[list=1] You posted the exact same message to multiple boards, making it look suspiciously like SPAM
The location for the download is at some unknown IP address, instead of at LucasArts' site
One of the descriptions of bug fixes (the one about the chef and the kitchen) doesn't seem to make sense

So, I'm not trying to whine, but I am concerned. How did you find out about the patch, and what ***urances do we have that it won't mess up our system? Is there an announcement somewhere that we can read? You obviously got the list of fixes from somewhere...

Oh just shut up Brief. Its not 'Spam', if I'm right, 'Spam' isn't just the repeat of the same message its also normally offensive and inapropriate - this isn't, so shutup you idiot.

You can also get the patch here:

I found the link at: http://www.patches-scrolls.de/index3.html

Its a good site and I have used it for ages now. They gather all game patches together so you can find them easily enough. Its not 'dodgy' or virused or anything. I'm just bloody trying to help so shutup and go back to your husband, he's probably geting withdrawel symptoms from your whineing.

For anyone interested, I loaded the patch and it fixed the slowdown and bug message problems(I am using a Voodoo3).! Don't fret about the patch download site, its an FTP site LucasArts uses. The patch was also announced on 3Dfiles.com. Drink more Grog.
