Cannot view Pegnose Pete Chart for Swamp direction

Good day all, I have gotten to the point of getting the chart on Pegnose Pete but I am unable to view the chart for directions in swamp. Have tried all view and use keys but all Guybrush does is read it and nothing else. Is there something I am doing wrong? Any help would be appreciated.

I have tried that and whenever I try to view it he only reads what is on it and nothing else happens.

Thanks Grannen for your help, I feel like such a fool but when trying again your suggestions it still didn't do anything. I went back to Dave and had him sniff the spritzer again, I got the right name this time. Now if I can find some rock to crawl under...
