what was that spider monkey thing all about? this was the most non-sensical puzzle of the whole monkey saga. can anyone explain it and what it has to do with spider monkeys (whatever they are)?

thanks

Even though I played CMI not too long ago, I have a horrible memory (sometimes I forget when my own birthday is!). Which puzzle is the one with the spider monkeys? I'd take a crack at helping you with the logic of the puzzle, if I remembered which one you were talking about.

the spider monkey puzzle was in the second-last part, called 'kiss of the spider monkey'. it involved the snow cone...

I went and replayed that part of the game. It's the one where you have to make a hangover remedy from the pepper, the snowcone, the lemon merangue pies and Dinghy Dog's hair, right? I think the puzzle is pretty logical since little Guybrush gives an incredibly huge hint that he is in a hangover type of feeling at the start of the act. As for why it is called "Kiss of the spider monkey", I have no idea at all.

I don't know if this helps but at the start of the chapter when you are speaking with LeChuck there is a monkey in the background which makes a kissing motion. Perhaps this is it??

Makes sense. I only started at where you are by Dinghy Dog and need to make a hangover remedy and not where LeChuck has Guybrush in one of those gondola cars, so I didn't see that part again.
