View Full Version : Mission 14: Raid on Sullust : I have a problem...

Hi everyone !

I think the only game I've ever played for 2 years is Rogue Squadron. I must say it's the gamepad Sidewinder which tempted me a lot cause to me that's almost the virtual world of games which I find amazing and very pleasent.
Ok just wanted to say that Rogue Squadron is a grrrreat game.

Anyway, I wanted to ask you something.
In mission 14, I managed (after many tries I must say...) to destroy all the red and black (there are 10 right ?) things (?...) which allowed to break down the main big shield but THEN what am I supposed to do ?

Thanks in advance for eventual answers !
Bye !

Well, first you gotta find that big spinning thing. Once you get there, you have to shoot all those big white squares that are sitting on it. You'll have to hit them quite a few times to destroy them. Ignore the TIEs that are buzzing around you; they never do anything.

Hey ! Thank you very much !
Silly me, I hadn't understood those white things were targets.

Ok now I gotta break down this shield again... Sigh... I made it three times so far... Out of MANY tries believe me. But I gotta say the last times I was more comfortable.

Thanx again !
Bye !

That level is my favorite in the game, but only if I use the interceptor. Dodging all those missiles constantly for a long time is a blast. http://www.roguesquadron.net/forums/smile.gif

Speaking of Sullust....

I have golds on all levels except Sullust and our pal Moff Seerdon ("Thyferia" - spelling is wrong,I'm sure)

Can anyone offer any clues/sugestions? I can win with the Naboo, but I guess I consider that cheating....

Also:
1) What has happened to the strategy guide by Black Jedi? The link produces a missing URL.

2) What happened to the "Strategy" forum? The topics have vanished!

Thanks. By the way, this site has been a tremendous help; my son (6 yrs. old) & I would NEVER have been able to find the tie interceptor hiding behind the Falcon in the hangar without help from someone (I can't recall who) who posted an answer for us. Many thanks!

Banning is a good thing. Nobody ever said forums had to be democratic.

I've visited other forums and some, notably an unreal tournament one, were just a whole bunch of people constantly insulting and swearing at each other. Half the posts was one guy responding to another guy who had insulted him in order to do some more insulting.

It is amusing for a while, but I wouldn't frequent such a forum.

- When you say "medieval", do you mean with tools ?
- Never tried to find your own expressions... originality if you know what I mean ?
- To get medieval on my french butt ? Just wondering... where do begin vulgarity ? Wash your mouth, honey, and go to bed.

And don't talk to me again. This forum doesn't belong to you. If I want to ask stg to somebody, that's my problem. I haven't been banned two months ago, and I didn't say anything offendant since that time, so leave me alone.

Zennifer Paris, are u french ?

Ok you like lists, here are a list for you to ponder over:

- Actually I did use my own expressions, I just edited them for content

- That wasn't half as vulgar as I was gonna make it, and you are not my mother you french Jackass and I'll decide how I'll talk

- Stupidity is not a virtue, I don't own this forum, but I do moderate. And as one of four major powers of this forum you do not mess with me.

I was very neutral in my first responce, and you had to go and put me in a bad mood. Unless anyone else here has any objections I'm gonna give you the Wedgey treatment, and delete any post you make.

And for the other one... leave me alone. I checked that forum, I saw a french guy (I supposed), and I asked him if he was really french. I don't want to talk to you anymore, that's doesn't interest me : that what I meant when I said to Raven that the forum didn't belong to him. He or you are not supposed to like me : you've just to check if my posts are correct or not.

My friend (Konstantinos or Kostas) do have a house in Athens, but he's born in Crete => each time that his friends come to Paris, they bring cheese and bread from Crete (I don't know the right name, and I suppose there are lots of) : you can't imagine what it is (when I write you, I mean the others). Sometimes, we spend all night long eating and speaking about these products from Crete (that's one REAL french characteristic : the best moment of the dinner is after it, when you speak about it during weeks sometimes).

But now, I'm in Spain, and I don't have any good cheese. I'm desesperate.

Xaomel , there is a major problem with Albanian immigrants. Some of them are ex-convicts, members of the Albanian Mafia, or just small time criminal who have no respect for human life. As I said before, SOME OF THEM. There are a lot of family , hard working Albanians living here who do not cause problems. Unfortunately, a group of criminals has given Albanians a bad name.

Ok guys, DON'T get me started on the albanian matters cause then we're her for centuries...

Well Xaomel, you must know that Albania until the end of the 80's knew the strongest dictatorship of the eastern bloc. In the 90's it was known to be, ans is now, the poorest country in Europe. I nmany villages in the mountains there, the chief is still deciding who marries who !

When the red line (rideau de fer) broke down, most Albanians had simply... nothing, hadn't recieved any education and knew only albanian language...

And just next to it, there was a country... belonging to the European Union !!! The gap (le fossé pour être précis) caused many calshes of course.

Besides, you must know Greece was not a country as rich, as powerful (well WAS NOT cause now, it has veeery interesting perspectives... anyway...) and not as big -especially in terms of population- as France
so it was very hard for this country to handle such a huge immigration (imagine Eastern Germans who wanted to go to West, well not that different...).

Well, despite ALL this, I just read recently that the greek integration of Albanians had been considered very well by Le Monde. People were listed to be followed medically, recieve an education...

Far far far from the xenophobic behaviour that too many french people have against immigrants from north Africa, behaviour which is strictly unacceptable.

There were actually TWO countries belonging to the European Union next to Albania : Greece and Italy, 2 countries that had quite the same problem with albanian immigration btw.

They don't call the Balkans the 'powderkeg of Europe' for nothing. This time the U.S. lit the fuse though.

Politics? With foreigners? http://www.roguesquadron.net/forums/wink.gif http://www.roguesquadron.net/forums/smile.gif http://www.roguesquadron.net/forums/wink.gif

Nope! (Aims his fighter at the sky and floors it) Seee-ya!

I don't think I can defend America's foreign policy, my friends. We are mostly a good and moral people in my country, but we sometimes think we know more than we really do. Sadly, this leads our government into all sorts of crap it has no place in--even though it's being done with the best of intentions. We hear of suffering halfway around the world, and our poor, naive selves actually think we can do some good by sticking our fat noses right into it.

Enough politics. I, too, could fill up some databanks...but it's an inflammatory subject, I think, so I'll leave it to cooler heads.

Unless it's Star Wars politics we're talking about! http://www.roguesquadron.net/forums/wink.gif I found the visit to Coruscant in the new Star Wars movie very intimidating! If galactic civilization is that much of a monster, I say we shut down this whole space flight thing and go back to hunting animals with sharp sticks!

Greetings, Filos Tis! http://www.roguesquadron.net/forums/smile.gif

I have an insight on the Sullust raid that might be useful. I let my girlfriend (who is an excellent Y-wing pilot) handle this level...and I was afraid of it for quite a while after she'd passed it, too!

--Until I tried it with the A-wing, that is! The A-wing is small and fast enough that it can handle all of the mission's requirements with ease, and its radar-jamming package gives it an advantage against those God-awful missile turrets! You have to bring the crosshairs on the turret as soon as it's in range to take advantage of the jamming, because it only gives you a second or two before the turret finds you. I like the A-wing at the Jade Moon for the same reason; I've got the run down well enough that I can take out every Imperial target on the level with only one ship (not to brag--just pointing out the A-wing's advantage against turrets! http://www.roguesquadron.net/forums/smile.gif)

But, if you're stuck with the Y-wing, I guess you're screwed. I know that DEADDACK opens up all the levels on the N64, but for opening up all the SHIPS on any level, I'm clueless. Anyone else know how?

I tried the A wing on Sullest too, but it took me too long to destroy the "red and black things".

Does anyone have any pointers on how to get the gold on this level? The time limit is 4:00 minutes; I always come in at 4:20 or so using either the Y-wing or X-wing. I have golds on all other 18 levels, but Sullest is a thorn in my side.

Thanks in advance.....

Howdy Fens (cool name!),

Did you find the advanced lasers on Taloraan? They make quite a difference against the shield generators on Sullust. That, plus it helps to add a missile while you're making your run at each one.

The advanced lasers are hidden in the middle of the cloud city on Taloraan--the big one, just before the end of the level. I know that I made it harder on myself at Fest by not finding them the first time around. I had to wait until the strategy guide came out to discover about them...

Hope this helps! http://www.roguesquadron.net/forums/wink.gif

actually, I prefer using the Y-wing. I like goin' in with all those weapons. I don't care if they blast my butt to Kingdom Come 'cause I'm so slow. It still rocks!

If you want a real lesson in futility, try taking the Millenium Falcon to Sullust. It's like trying to fly a kite in a hailstorm...

Hum, sorry to inform you - if fog's not your gig, you made an unwise choice in game consoles.

But don't feel too bad - they left the @#!$@!%$*& annoying stuff in the PC version, too....since it was a direct port of the N64 version, more or less....
