There are, of course, innumerable cheats in recorded history. These are just some that came to mind. http://www.roguesquadron.net/forums/wink.gif

Rush Limbaugh?

When and how did he ever cheat anyone?

Was it when he told the truth to the American public before the stinking, bleeding-heart liberal pansy scumbags who lied to everyone for the last 50 years were ready for him to?

Just wanna hear the answer to this one... http://indigo.ie/~owenc/starwars/images/PBgrin1.gif

...and I'll bet you thought the only potentially-controversial choice of topics for discussion hereabouts was that of spiritual beliefs. http://indigo.ie/~owenc/starwars/images/PBgrin.gif

Conor, if you're reading this, wanna back me up here, big daddy? I know you can be trusted, since you detest Bill Mahr as much as I do... http://indigo.ie/~owenc/starwars/images/PBsmile1a.gif <font size="1">

If you want me to say good things about Rush, I can probably do that. Unfortunately, I hardly know anything about him.

What I do know, is that our so-called intellectual elite hate him an awful lot so he must have something going for him. http://www.roguesquadron.net/forums/smile.gif

It must be a Canadian thing. I just never see anything with Rush Limbaugh in it. Slightly before my time maybe?

Oh. *(Ahem!)* Uhm, never mind, then...

He used to have T.V. show (which was axed by the same liberals who allowed him to be granted a time slot in the first place, when they hadn't taken him seriously as any kind of real threat); and he has always had a radio program, which unless I'm mistaken still DOES air in certain locations....the only political speaker (other than Pat Robertson) who had no problems acknowledging God, and did so quite frequently.

That was basically all I knew. No specific incidents or ideas on the subject. One thing I do remember from a few years ago (I didn't really understand the war like I do now) is how I heard a few of the things Limbaugh was saying (I already knew he was bashed from every angle) and thought "What's wrong with him? He's saying all the right things!" http://www.roguesquadron.net/forums/wink.gif

Yep, you called that one right! http://www.roguesquadron.net/forums/smile.gif

So....my question still stands: when and how did Rush Limbaugh ever cheat anyone?

I'll just bet Imladil will have a nice, delightfully nonsensical answer for that one. Which, for once, I'll actually be encouraging of. http://www.roguesquadron.net/forums/biggrin.gif

You mean, no one's gonna call me on including Michael Jackson in the list...? But he's the most wholesome one on there (provided you skip the slumber party); he makes Rush Limbaugh look like John Dillinger!

I didn't put Rush on the list for his political views--he's there because I simply don't like him. That's right; it's a completely irrational gut-level dislike for the man--he just bugs me. His eyes are too small or something--I dunno. He just seems like that last person I would ever want to get stuck in an elevator with...! I really don't know anything about his political views, because I've never watched his show longer than two minutes. <font size=1>Click-click-click--! </font>

Yes, I am a Liberal. Democrat. Hippy. Bark-eater. Subjugator of the Status Quo. Man in the Street. Take your pick. http://www.roguesquadron.net/forums/wink.gif

If we're going to do the social/political discussion, I'd like to focus on my favorite rant topic: socialized medicine. In Europe, when you get sick, you go to the doctor...you get treated, then you get better. Here in the United States, we do the same thing, only we follow it with the bills, then the debt collectors, the bankruptcy and all that. That is, provided you can get treatment without insurance (and there are many, many more people who work but do not receive medical benefits than one might first imagine) in the first place. Just try getting treated for a bad tooth without the money to pay for it...you will be forced to wait until the thing abcesses, your life is in danger, and then you can go to the emergency room...and be billed for the rest of your life. Now...in civilized countries, medical treatment is free--you pay higher taxes, but when you need to go to the doctor...dammit, you just go!

In real life, my girlfriend is recovering from a car accident from a couple of years ago. The bills from her back doctors and surgeries would be enough to cripple us financially, if it weren't for the Oregon Health Plan. The plan is a recent program, resulting from the national attention that health care received after the president's first election. If it weren't for that brief spurt of liberal, hippy bark-eating http://www.roguesquadron.net/forums/wink.gif political momentum, I would be a much, much poorer man today.

So why is our health care system so f****d, anyway? Don't everyone rush the microphone, now... http://www.roguesquadron.net/forums/wink.gif

Uhm...maybe it was the thirty years of Democrat rule in the House and Senate? No, wait; that's right...Reagan *(at hearing that name, Imladil audibly cringes)* was in the White House then, wasn't he? For the WHOLE FRIGGIN' 30 YEARS, I bet you think, huh??? http://indigo.ie/~owenc/starwars/images/PBgrin.gif

A-hahaha! Did you REALLY think we weren't gonna pick up on THAT ONE, ya wiseguy?! http://www.roguesquadron.net/forums/biggrin.gif

Oh, and I'm sorry to hear about your girlfriend's accident, BTW. http://www.roguesquadron.net/forums/frown.gif

Imladil,
SHAME ON YOU...you EAT the bark? That would indicate that you HURT the tree to rip the bark off of it. (insert goofey giggle here)
Everybody knows you can't get stuck on an elevator with Rush Limbaugh, God doesn't TAKE the elevator. Maybe THAT'S the part of his egomaniacal facade that I can't stand..

Just thought I should add a little to your rant Imladil. If you live in the Europe and need major surgery, you go to the United States. If you live in the U.S. and need major surgery, you get on your knees and thank God that we`ve got the best health care technology in the world. As for the higher taxes...I pay enough already. No one has ever fixed a social problem by throwing more money at it. Fiscal responisbility should be the watchword. I bring home a paycheck and my lovely wife disburses it. But we never spend more than we make. Our political leaders should be so wise.

I love it. People like Shootist and Imladil openly and freely make known their uninformed and utterly biased, opinionated views but cannot substantiate ANY of their claims.

Rush Limbaugh is egomaniacal now, is he? Shootist, that was positively ANAL.

Time to break the silence...! Where I live, Rush Limbaugh has a daily radio show (on the weekdays). I don't have an opinion, since I'm in school when his show starts (9:00 AM). Thought a neutral (although utterly uniformed http://www.roguesquadron.net/forums/smile.gif) voice would be helpful here...

I've always been thankful for Canada's health plan! I would rather pay higher taxes and have virtually free medical treatment.

My Dearest Lt G,
Does Massa Rush do all the research, assemble the facts in his own head, then screen the phone calls (while his picked over and then picked out audience is no hold)Then does he sit 'live' in front of his mike and dispense his wisdom?
Homey don't think so. If he'd give credit to his staff who does the dirty work of research and editing then canning the show to fit in its time slot, I might think differently. He just regurgitates what he's fed most likely. Yep, we get him here on am radio. Like Beenie Babies, Tickle Me Elmo and Cabbage Patch fads...Rush too has seen his day.

In MY old days, there was a popular inhalant drug going around called Rush. It got a lot of publicity when they found out how many brain cells it killed in the kids who sniffed it.

Fast-forward to today with "Rush," Captain Porky himself http://www.roguesquadron.net/forums/wink.gif, blathering up the national stage in his nice daddy plastic college old boy suit. "Blah-blah blah, blablah blah-blah, blah blah..." I can just feel myself getting dumber. http://www.roguesquadron.net/forums/smile.gif

HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!

Good show, you two...I got a little too intense for a second, there, but you both remained cool as the proverbial cucumber. Damn fine job on that. http://www.roguesquadron.net/forums/wink.gif

Hell, I don't really care about the man's physical appearance. I can readily admit up front that if the man were a Liberal <s>Jackass</s>Democrat http://www.roguesquadron.net/forums/wink.gif, I wouldn't have any kind words for him, either. Yeah, sure, let's just be honest - the man isn't likely to win any Most Likable Chap awards anytime soon (or ever)...but is it REALLY fair to regard him in that negative a light, Shootist? I mean, did the man perjure himself before a Grand Jury? Did he call a press conference just so he could stare directly sideways while telling America, "I...did...not...have...sexual...relations...with that woman.....Miss Lewinsky. (insert utterly comical laughter and applause here)"???

Face it, guys. You have backed a loser this time, and just FOR ONCE, don't try to weasel out of the consequences by redirecting the public scorn onto the faults of the nearest Conservative. http://www.roguesquadron.net/forums/smile.gif

And I mean all of that in the nicest possible way. http://www.roguesquadron.net/forums/smile.gif

Imladil

Bill Clinton, a loser? How can he be, when he gets all the chicks...and not even impeachment fazes him?

I mean, look at Tricky Richard Nixon. When the big "I" word came up, he ran squealing back to the pen like someone said bacon. http://www.roguesquadron.net/forums/smile.gif

LT, Rush was just handy. I think perhaps Nixon was a bigger cheat, but he got us out of Vietnam and abolished the draft. In the eyes of most young guys during that era that makes him an honored hero. How ironic, I wound up joining anyway. Sorry if I hit an exposed nerve...whadaya think I am, flamboyant er sumthin'? (malaprop for clairvoyant)
Imladil, I know some folks who tried that Rush junk...they didn't suffer any dain bramage.
