Can someone tell us how to fire the tow cable in order to trip the Imperial Walker?

We have tried selecting the secondary weapon, and pressing the "X" key to link weapons -

Appreciate any help and if someone could copy us with the answer via e-mail -

Many thanks -

Surprisingly, I don't own either of the Rogue Squadron games (I'm an XWA.net carryover)...however I DO know how to fire the tow cable. There's a button to "fire secondary weapon,"...I'm not sure which button it is right now, but it's the same button that fires the ion cannon on the Y-wing...anyone who owns the game want to help?

Yes, it is the secondary firing button on the joy stick, but it doesn't fire in this case, even though in other missions it fires the missiles?? It just makes a funny sound as if to indicate an error. We then press the "X" key which is supposed to activate other weapons, but this doesn't work either -
Can someone tell us what we are doing wrong?

Thanks so much for any assistance -

Well...when using Hobbie's configuration for the controller on the Nintendo version, it's the secondary weapon button. The trick is to wait until you're right next to the walker; if you aren't sure exactly when you can do this, just keep pressing the button as you fly past. It'll snag as soon as you're in range.

Then it gets weird--for me, anyway. I always fly in cockpit mode with the cockpit itself turned off...but the game forces me into a remote camera view of the speeder going around the walker. Since I'm not used to flying the ship "way over there," it's pretty distracting.

You have to circle the walker three times, and the cable will automatically release after you're done. The walker falls down, and sometimes explodes--often you have to go back and finish it off. I think both walkers on Corellia are of the latter nature.

Hope this helps. http://www.roguesquadron.net/forums/wink.gif Kill Imperials!

You cannot fire the harpoon until you hear the voice which says "fire harpoon now!" or something to that effect. Otherwise it will make the same noise as if you ran out of missiles. You have to get very close to the AT-AT to hear the voice.

Thanks to all - We'll give it a try - You might think they would post some instructions on their site for things like this which are not very obvious.

Thanks again - I will relay this to my son and see how he comes out -

hey imladil you use hobbies settings,

THEY'RE GREAT

I always use them but i don't fly in the cockpit (and by the way you have to consider the walkers as a sub-game because its totally different from anything else)

walkers only explode if you shoot them before or after roping them,it is best to do it after by shooting from a distance, or the resulting explosion can damage your ship.

I'm not sure about the N64 version, but in the PC version you get the kill when you trip a walker, even if you dont blow it up

Of course I use Hobbie's settings! It just makes more sense for the trigger to fire the lasers, I guess...plus, you don't have to worry about using the two airbrakes on the airspeeder, although it means you can't turn as sharply. Hobbie's settings are similar to the controls for Pilot Wings and Podracer as well...

Yikes! This topic is totally about the game! Somebody pop off with an irrelevancy, a recipe or something before my brain explodes! http://www.roguesquadron.net/forums/biggrin.gif

BatMan's Hot Wings

Marinade:
1/2 c soy sauce
1/4 c honey
3 Tbs TabascoŽ sauce (I like their new habanero sauce)
2 jalapeņo peppers seeded and diced
2 serrano chile peppers seeded and diced
2 Tbs fresh ginger all smashed and chopped
3 cloves of garlic all smashed up and chopped
1 tsp dried red pepper flakes

Okay mix up the marinade. Ya gotta be careful not to rub yer eyes when you're making this stuff.
Now go out to Sam's Club and get yourself one of those bags of frozen chicken wings. You know, the kind that are already separated for you. Defrost the wings and put them in a big ol' ziplock bag or dish. The ziplock bag works best. Let them soak for a couple hours. Not too long or they'll get a bit salty from the soy sauce.

Now go out back and fire up your BBQ. Grill the wings untill they're done. Serve them with celery sticks and ranch dressing.

Another BatMan original.

One time I cleaned and diced a batch of serranos, then went to the bathroom.

Aw, man, I remember one I time I tried some of those insanity wings at this place when I was in college. It was one of those things where if you eat 15 of their hottest wings you get a T-shirt and your picture on the wall.

All I will say is that it felt better going in than coming out.

Bathroom humor?

Nope, nope, nope... *(Imladil fires the tow cable at his own butt and hauls it out of there.)* I can't picture anyone on the toliet anyway--brain censorship. Simply won't load the page.

I'm sorry, but I just glanced at the topic name and I simply can't resist this:

Shouldn't it be "Firing Tow Cable in Defecation at Corellia?"
