View Full Version : What is your favorite vehicle.

Well the best of course is the Naboo Starfighter, it has manuverability and speed like a TIE Interceptor. It also has a very vast rate of fire, it's main advantage over the TIE is it's shields and a whopping 10 proton torpedoes. However, my faveorite vehicle is of course the one and only X-WING!

My favorite is the falcon and the v-wing.

I don't like either all that much really. The Falcon has great shields and a lot of proton torpedoes, but it is kindof slow not very manuverable and it will never shoot at the target I want it to. The V-wing is fast and very manuverable, but it can't roll or do a loop, it's lasers have a slow fire rate unless you use the rapid fire mode but then they over heat and quit, it has very little shields, and I hate the cluster missles.

i go for speed, i like a wing, naboo fighter, and tie interceptor. and dont tell me that the shields on tie and a wing are too weak. if u r skilled, u wont care about that that cause with their manuverability, skilled players wont get hit.

btw, a have a friend whos fave vehicle is the y wing! i laugh in his face

A-wing.

Anyone who flies anything else had better pack a parachute...'cause he's going down. In my A-wing, I ignore laser cannon; I'm just too darned fast for them. I can fly an A-wing through places that would snag and crash any other vehicle.

X-wings are amusing...but lord, are they slow! My main frustration with RS was having to use the X-wing as the default vehicle. I always wanted to jump out with my blaster and shoot the darned thing down myself!

I liked the V-wing, too, but it can't climb very high. Try using it on the reactor in the volcano, and you'll see what I mean...

My second favorite ship, though, was the TIE interceptor. Only problem: no missiles.

Take my word for it: the A-wing is the best ship in Rogue Squadron.

V-Wing be da King. It has speed, especoally when you use the super duper gotta go NOW button. The missiles are "fire and forget" which lets me hunt down another target while they're tracking. There are only three targets that I can think of that a short blast from the guns in high speed mode. AT-ATs, the big ol' house of mirrors on Sullust, and things that weren't meant to be targets in the first place. (Yeah, I know Imladil, about nukin' da Po folk http://www.roguesquadron.net/forums/smile.gif
The Naboo is just a V-wing with a paint job and different acceleration basically, it's pretty good.
Y-Wing...I'd rather have a sister in a whore house than a brother in a Y-wing.
Mil Fal? Where is the udder on that cow?
Your life depends on a disgruneled wino to shoot the critical target at the critical time...he's usually drinkin' when he should be SHOOTIN'.
A-wing, cute, fast, but NO FIRE POWER.

Definitely the X-Wing!! As far as being too slow, if you want to get somewhere in a hurry, close the S-foils!! If you're shooting, you don't want to go that fast anyway!!

I totally agree with Gary. And Shootist the Naboo is nothing like the v-wing first of all the Naboo Starfighter can roll and loop, which do come in handy, and it doesn't have crazy missles that lock on to whatever they want. The Naboo is the most like a TIE Interceptor.(I'm sure I've said that a million times)It has the speed, agility, and the super fast rate of laser fire, the only difference is that it has shields and TEN101010TEN, yes I said 10 proton torpedoes. With that many torps you could practicly beat Mos Eisly without firing a single laser. The Naboo Starfighter is the BEST fighter in the game....but I still think the X-Wing is the best because I mean hey, X-Wing, Rouge Squadron, they go together. If you want me to tell you why a flying box of glass with no shields or guns would be better than a v-wing then read the last post I put in. Oh yeah I also agree with Lt Cracken. You guys (and girls) just don't get. http://www.roguesquadron.net/forums/rolleyes.gifYou can disagree with me all you want but we all know deep down that I am right and your not and you can't just accept that.

Like most people the naboo starfighter. Reason: Speed- Go faster than Tie Interceptor, can go slower than Y-Wing. Fire Speed- Very pinpointed. Doesn't shoot all over the place.
Size- Can fit through small cracks.
Tracion- No tracton! Just the way I like it!
Well thats as many reasons as I can think of for now.

CHILLIN you gotta be ILLIN' http://www.roguesquadron.net/forums/smile.gif If you can fly and shoot well enough ya ain't gotta play loop-da-loop or fly upside down and bass ackward. Ain't nobody here ta show off to. A fighter pilot's job is to kill critters and break things.
I didn't say the Naboo was a bad craft. I like it too! Fer my nickle I like the fire and forget MUCH MUCH more than a glitzy paint job.
As far as who's right and wrong.....

While you guys have been arguing over V-wings and Naboo starfighters, I've swooped in with my A-wing, grabbed your sister, the booze and rocketed my quick butt out of there. Firepower? What does firepower matter if you can't get right there real quick-like?

Secretly, I'll tell you that I give top performance marks to the Naboo, but I dislike it for the same reason I dislike the V-wings 'fire-and-forget' missiles: they make the game too easy! http://www.roguesquadron.net/forums/wink.gif

Any XvT players in the house? Ever see one of those real fast arrowhead things go zipping through the battle, just stripes, a cockpit and some engines? That was an A-wing. And I'm proud to fly them.

SHOOTIST what do you think seeker torpedoes are you lock on and shoot, they never miss, unless there is some giant canyon wall in the way. That is fire and forget. And as for being good enough to not need loops or rolls I hardly use them any way, but when your charging like mad at a some Turbolaser and they have you in their sights in the few seconds it takes to line up a shot, you can roll on your side to present a smaller profile and just fly between the Turbolaser's shots. Can't do that with a v-wing can you. Another thing, you are all obsessed with speed if you can fly there is no point in getting away. The Naboo is undoubtedly the best but I love the X-Wing. I mean X-Wing,Rogue Squadron,X-Wing,Rogue Squadron, they're practicly the same thing. The X-Wing's systems are all evened out for top peformance...it's firing rate is not two slow that when you line up a shot and are ready to shoot you miss the chance because your lasers haven't charged up from the last shot, and they're not too fast that when you push the trigger you shoot 10 times. It's manuverability is not so sluggish that you couldn't keep up with a shuttle and not so fast that you can turn around standing still. I mean I can take down those pesky Interceptors that follow you everywhere and won't leave you alone. It's shields are not too weak. (you can never have too stong of shields) Sure you sometimes wish for more speed but you can always close the S-foils for a burst of speed. But if you're some speed crazed maniac then this is not the ship for you and you should stick with the TIE, A-wing, or Naboo. Geez that was long wasn't it? http://www.roguesquadron.net/forums/tongue.gif

X-Wing: dinky lasers from A-Wing splash harmlessly on X-Wing's shields. X-Wing throtles back

A-Wing: over shoots X-Wing

X-Wing: takes it's time deciding whether it should use lasers or proton torps. It decides it should use P-torps. It gets a lock and fires.

A-Wing: foolishly thinks it can use it's speed to outrun X-Wing and P-torpedo. Uh oh whats this A-Wing discovers that speed doesn't always work and that proton torpedoes are faster than it. Bye bye

Imladil's Top Ten Reasons Not to Fly X-Wings:

1: Getting shot down sucks.
2: Not being able to fly away fast sucks.
3: No cupholders.
4: Can't shoot with S-foils closed...why?!?
5: Silly robot staring at the back of your head.
6: No FM radio/CD player.
7: Large spaceframe draws enemy fire.
8: Chicks don't dig X-wing pilots.
9: X-wings will not float in water.
10: Any voodoo muppet with a stick can levitate an X-wing.

And IMALDI !!! RIGHT ON!!!

The A-wing is by far the fastest most manuverable thing out there, the only complaint you can have is the shields but when you are a speed GOD DEMON like me they don't tend to get a lot of shots off at me. You come at me anytime with an x-wing and cry all you want how you think your shields will last me off but the won't.... OH NO they won't just let me get off about 2 shots before you have time to blink a couple of homing missles and you can kiss your sweet X-wing ass goodbye!!!!

Alright I just heard of this new ship, it's not in any game it was in a book. The book was Rogue Squadron, Isard's Revenge. The ship is called a TIE Defender. Alright listen up. It has shield's unlike a normal TIE, it has 4 laser cannons which can be fired singally, linked, or quadded, it has 2 ion cannons, it carries 8 concusion missles or proton torpedoes, it has a tractor beam, it is hyperdrive capable, and it is very fast and manuverable both in space and atmosphere. http://www.roguesquadron.net/forums/cool.gif Now I don't care what you say you all know this is the best ship even if it's not in the game! Also--and most importantly--we need some snappy flight suits to set us apart from the heathens. Those orange 'shoot me' flight suits are just so twentieth century...

Yes, indeed, Imladil and Evil Spock are both myself. I am also Zoom Rabbit at www.jediknight.net (http://www.jediknight.net) where I also control the puppets named Pink Monkey and President Reagan...with an occasional word from God.

And that ain't all. http://www.roguesquadron.net/forums/wink.gif At XWA I occasionally post as Imladil Thrustweasel, and at some site associated with Obi-Wan Kenobi I'm registered as Skyhog.

Can't find the JediKnight site? Click on the underlined address in this post. Check out Radio Free Saturn for quick laughs or The Way of the Jedi for mystical talk.

My new favorite Rebel ship is the............................................... .....................X-Wing Starfighter...

I figured something out with it in X-Wing last night. I found out how to get thew shields up very fast, just put the shield power to engines and keep lasers at max, then keep putting laser power to shields until your shields are powered up, then let your lasers power up to full then set the laser setting to normal (so your engines don't drain it) and you can go up past 100 with a loaded x-wing!! You have enough laser power to put it to shields in case you get shot, then just hit the lasers to the max when you need more laser power then set them back to normal. I was playing the level where you have to destroy 3 juno freighters and all the x-wings and y-wings got destroyed (except my x-wing) and i was dogfighting tie interceptors for about half an hour and when i killed all of them they sent 3 more after me and when i destroyed those they sent more!!! I failed the mission because i thought the y-wings were supossed to capture the freighters before destroying them, and hyperspaced out. Then i saw what i had to do and went back in and beat it!!! The worse thing is when you get shot up enough, like your hull gets in the red zone, the targeting computer/id mode gets shot out and you can't see who you're targeting!!! And the eject button keeps flashing! The coolest shots of the X-Wing are in shadows of the empire in the last battle where you can be the x-wing you can get awesome shots of it.

My 2 fav. rebel ships are the x-wing and a-wing. the y-wing is only good for ground missions, like bombing too bad you can't use bombs in x-wing!!!

Anyone here up for some Episode 1 bashing? Good. Well, there was some false information in that movie. When Cpt. Panaka was telling the queen who was nominated for the new Chanselor he said Bail Antilles from Alderan. Whoa! I think he means Bail Organa, as in Leia Organa. First of all the Antilles folk are from Corellia. And Wedge's father worked a refueling station and Wedges parents died when some pirates came along and kind of blew up the station. Wedge however got away with Booster Terik and his daughter Mirax (Coran Horn's wife) Bail Organa was in the Senate and he was from Alderan, he would have heated deabates with Mon Mothma, well at least before they joined sides to fight the Empire, and before the Senate was dissolved, and before Bail Organa died with Alderan.

Well I think I got that topic on to a good start, anyone else got some complaints?

There's more than one Antilles. There was a Captain Antilles on the Tantive IV before Vader crunched his wind pipe. I'm sure the Antilles/Organa thing will be explained in the next movies. I doubt Lucas would make such a blatant mistake.

On to the next subject- I want to know how C3-PO got back together with R2-D2 in further episodes. After all they did leave him on Tantooine in the first movie- poor C3-PO anikan didn't ever get around to put that gold plating on him.(I think.)

Imladil

Anakin builds C3PO, then becomes Darth Vader. This same robot (two, actually) wind up in his son's care years later, coincidentally on the same planet. Right.

The TIE manuverable vulnerable fast depressing what more could you ask for

And the A-wing
They can Tie up a whole tie squadron so fst you can only get a snap shot if lucky
leaves ties as sitting ducks

hvymtlkro
07-26-2000, 12:10 AM
ok first off the best ship is definately the A-Wing, heres whats lacking in the other shipes. X-Wing too slow and unmanuervable, can't shoot and outrun missiles at the same time(A-Wing's missiles are just as powerful as a proton when used unseeking when double tapped), Y-Wing I dont think I need to say anything, V-wing can't shoot all targets, can overheat guns, and is slow, tie, shots too spread out(notice that I didn't say no sheilds or projectiles I think they're unneeded) ok falcon, too much mass and guns are completely inacurate. Speeder, same problem as V wing with the height. and as for the naboo, the naboo is just too perfect and is not supposed to be in there so won't count it. I also don't like flying with an AR2 unit, I think the pilot should control everything. A-Wing Rules All

Commander 5-98
07-26-2000, 03:47 AM
The N-1 Naboo Starfighter is superior to the A-wing because its not to small not to large and has a very good rate of fire. And lets not forget that paint job. http://www.roguesquadron.net/forums/biggrin.gif
And the Falcon inacurate?!It shoots at the target not just strait in front.(If you ever noticed)
