Welcome Panther. *hands Panther a welcome gift basket*

If the links don't help you, just say so, and I'll explain. Just for future reference, I am the best player of SP Jedi Knight around, so any questions about the game, ask me first. ;)

Enjoy the forums.

Yes, follow the links suggested above. You can also post in the Jedi Knight/MotS forum ( where you might get some useful tips from other players.

BTW, as this topic is not really JKII related, I'm moving it to the Swamp. ;)

Since you're the best at single player, JediKnight_114, let me ask you: what is the name of those flying critters found on Baron's Hed?

01-04-2002, 12:21 PM
Those would be Mailocs.

The only flying creatures on Level 5: Barons Hed are the little Sentry Droids. But if you are referring to the wasp like creatures from the end of Level 3, althroughout Level 4, and a bit of Level 13, then those are Mailocs. ;)

Next question. :D

I'm pretty sure sure u spel Mailocs like mailocs. :D

What do you mean? Don't capitalize the 'M'? I see. Anyway, then, mailocs. Better? :D

Yes :D

First let me start by saying thanks to all for the warm welcome. I've been a Star Wars fan for years, the X-wing series was really my speciallty, but I played Jedi Knight quite a bit for a while. Anyway, that story cleared up alot, but I still have some questions. How does each ending end? Where are you left at the end, I just need to know what to expect from JKII as far as where the story will start off. How will they compensate for the two possible endings? Also, where was Kyle's father during the whole Star Wars Trilogy? Is he just part of the xpanded universe thing, so hes never mentioned? I guess he could be one of those Jedi in hiding. Finally, why are there storm troopers? Does the Empire still exist? If so, who is the new leader of it? Thanks all for your help, I hope to have a great time on these forums and with JKII two when it is released.

For your questions:

The end of JK light side is Kyle defeats Jerec, and all the fallen Jedi souls are set free. The dark Side end is Kyle kills Jerec, takes the power of the valley for himself, then becomes emperor with Sariss at his side.

JK II will be set after the light side ending with the dark pretty much ignored.

Morgan Katarn is Dark Forces exclusive. He has never been mentioned anywhere else.

And yes, the empire still will exist, so there will be Stormtroopers as the usual Jedi meat and the new evil Jedi will be leading them.

And JKII is set like 9 years after JK. Kyle has quit using the force for fear of turning to the dark side, but the new villain convinces him to come out of retirement.

However Kyle is important in ANH, he steals the DS plans (DF first level. Fond memories of that. "This is too easy. Now I get to my ship" :D)

01-04-2002, 11:11 PM
Please excuse my ignorance, but whats ANH? Also, is this Kyle the same one from Shadows of the Empire?
Thanks everyone for bearing with my stupidity, haha.

01-04-2002, 11:48 PM
ANH = A New Hope acronym

The one in Shadows of the Empire = Dash Rendar

Oops, haha, why did I think his namne was Kyle, well its been a while since I've played SOTE. Thats cool about Kyle, I didnt know that. What is the time frame of Dark Forces? I never played it, obviously it must run along with ANH, but exactly where and when does it start on the Star Wars timeline?

01-05-2002, 12:07 AM
in the first level you steal the DS (death star ;)) plans, and before level 2 ANH is over
Im not sure when it ends

It should be before ESB (Empire Strikes Back ;))

errrr....help, i wouldnt have the faintest idea. So ill double that question

U are, I believe correct Digl.............

Dark Forces ends just before Empire

This time line kinda worries me a little tbh, Nine years after Jedi Knight........... where does MotS fit in to all this, are we just ignoring Kyles greying hair for JK II..............

01-06-2002, 12:21 PM
Also remember that Kyle rescues Crix Madine from the detention centre halfway through DF...and Crix doesn't appear until the ROTJ movie, which makes me think DF doesn't finish until somewhere between ESB and ROTJ. I haven't found any source (yet) that makes this totally clear, however, so it's just a matter of making your best guess as to when that game ends. It has to end before the events that transpire in JK, however, and JK takes place around 4 years after ANH (probably just after ROTJ, I would expect, though it's in the same timeframe as ROTJ, Truce at Bakura and the Bounty Hunter Wars trilogy).

Mysteries of The Sith takes place 10 years after ANH (probably after the Dark Empire graphic novels, but before the Jedi Academy book trilogy).

According to the chat transcript, JKII apparently takes place between 13-14 years after ANH (probably somewhere between the time of Planet Of Twilight and The Crystal Star novels).

Hope that puts it in a slightly better perspective for you. ;)

Nope look

Hmmm, I don't know. In that pic it looks as if the lower half of Kyle's hair may be in fact grey.

Could just be the lighting also.:)

If you want I can just tell you what happens in the game.
