They didn't make MI4 in SCUMM.

Why'd you think they changed the name of the SCUMM BAR (tm)??????? :)

The Pirate Song is stored in the same file as the ambient music. I think the file is called musdisk.bun or something. Install the appropriate annotations and it'll be easy to find. You can also download the song as an MP3 from a lot of Monkey Island sites...

As for EFMI, there are viewers available, but I don't think they allow you to extract much - just random sound effects, as far as I remember. Sorry I don't remember what they are called.

The EFMI music files are stored in MP3 format. Just find them on the CD (they have a non-standard extension, I don't remember what) and drag them over a WinAmp window to play them. They're in a directory called 'mego' or 'spago' or something, IIRC, inside the 'textures' directory on the CD. You can also download a superb utility to "extract" them, which is actually just a batch file that renames them to .mp3. Oh well.

Well, well...

I've made a tool called EMI Resource Viewer that lets you view/extract the background images and the textures, play/extract the sound effects and extract all other files.
I'm working on an improved version that will be able to animate the textures (e.g. when someone speaks the animation of the mouth etc.) as well to play and convert the voice files (extension .wvc).
I hope to get this done asap, as I also want to build in support for Grim Fandango.
