Now that the game is really gearing up in the last few months before its release, it would be the perfect time to show our spirit for the game and these forums with JKII.net T-shirts.

I know there are licensing issues and what not, but im sure that we could find a way that registered users could purchase a shirt at cost that would not only be free advertising for Lucas Forums and Jedi Knight II but would also be a sort of community thing that we could show pride with. That way no one makes money off of it (except maybe lucasarts!)

I remember Matt Windu showing us a link where a Mod would be able to set up a virtual store and sell shirts with some determined design directly through the site. If i remember correctly, this was at no cost to anyone involved since ordering through the site allowed patrons to be exposed to other ads. Maybe he can find the link again if he reads this ...

I mentioned this before in the Christmas gift thread, but i think now is the best time to get something like this going. We have the graphic artists and we are still small enough to be a community without a million members (yet anyhow...)

Anyway, its just an idea; do with it as you will :)

Interesting that you bring this up. I was just thinking about it too. I was also thinking about badges. I could put any of the forums logos, in multiple colors, onto badges of all different types and engrave names onto them and they wouldn't be more than a few bucks and they'd be made by a member! [/end shameless plug] :D When I say logo, I don't mean with Kyle dragging his saber and everything. I mean like the name and the JK symbol.

As for the shirts, I figure the best way to do those would be to pick one color, let's say black, and have is silk-screened onto white shirts or white onto black shirts. Much nicer in the end than those things you just stick onto shirts.

I would certainly buy a shirt that says JKII, with a spiffy design on them!

We've certainly considered getting the LucasGames Network, and individual sites like JediKnightII.Net and LuasForums products such as T-Shirts and Hats.

In fact, we'll look into it more in the coming weeks. We'll have to discuss the whole thing with LucasArts very carefully and make sure there's no issues there.

Zero and I are flying out to meet with the all the head gurus of LEC soon.. in fact it was supposed to be this month, but my work schedule got a bit tight.. so I think we'll shoot for a February visit. We'll add that issue to the agenda.

If we DO end up doing something like that, we would only do it if our artists, swoosh, jackal, jake, etc... or even a via a fan contest published network wide, could come up with a real smok'n design that anyone would be more than happy to where in public. Perhaps just a real sweet looking logo and name up on over the top left breast area type of thing... with a real nice color selection to go with it.

We'll look into it more and report back to the community on it in the coming weeks. Thanks for the initial support for the idea though... kinds of spurs us into doing something we've always talked about.

Aristotle...

How about just a simple black T-Shirt with the silver JKII logo (from the box posted a while ago) over the left breast, and some sort of "Outcast" slogan and the jediknightii.net across the back???

This simple black and silver layout would also look good on baseball caps...

Just a thought...

I suggested this back in that holiday gift thread.

I just realized this though:
Sell t-shirts = revenue
revenue = less ads
less ads = happiness

of course we'd have to sell a lot of t-shirts

Sounds good; and the logo on the back of the shirt looks cool too Matt! They dont make patches there at cafepress, do they? After reading boba rhett's post i got to thinking that JKII.net patches would be wicked cool.
