GB122: I thought you had more intelligence in you, but I'm disgusted with your pathetic attempt at bashing me, or whatever that "Brad Pitt" crap was about. You don't understand my dreams. And If you think you'll become a sucess by coming on here and talking about how you got "laid" (Which I have doubts a 12 year old DID), Then you're going to be VERY dissapointed.

frenchy, im kind of hurt. i dont like to brag, i never got laid, and i wasnt bashing you.........i was bashing fame...........and no, IM NOT F'UCKING TWELVE! I hate it when people dont think that younger people are equal....its the stupidist sh'it ever. fenchy fame isnt what you think it is........fame molds you into someone else. you develop an outer personality to please your fans and no one knows your true self......FAME SUCKS. and i honestly think its a one to a million chance....and its great to follow your dreams but have some sense!!!!! You dont want to get on my bad side frenchy.....I care about you and I respect your decision but for the love of god have a little reality!! And I can see you were desperately seeking an insult and came up with me getting laid. I want to ask the forumers, have I said about oral sex to brag? NO! It was for a fu'cking point. And believe me, the last thing I want is "a sucess". To me I have already suceeded because of all my friends. Now, as Dinghy said, I am really belligerent and I will go crazy because I'm a pissed off, depressed teenager who likes to hit things!!! So, I say re think your decision and I say stop being prejudice.

Thats all I have to say and if you decide to fight with me, fine, If I'm not worth your time, ok. But I urge you to re think this....NOW

I think my sex life could be better :p JK no one needs to know. I remember when I wanted to become a singer, I sooooooo desperatly wanted to be someone like Madonna, but then I realized I couldn't sing.

Frenchy- I hope all goes well in your quest for fame, but please remember the chances of it are happening are quite small, and it can also be quite costly, and time consuming ie- publicity photos, agents, auditions just to name a few. Just remember, if it never happens, don't be too dissapointed, I know it's hard, but don't set your future on becoming famous since it's so hard to do so, maybe if there's another interest or area your interested in, like gardening or painting or cooking, study that as well so you have something to fall back on incase you don't become famous. I'm sure you will though, but it's always wise to be prepared incase the worst happens.

I get what Guybrush is trying to say about fame- look at Judy Garland, she loved what she was doing when she was younger, when she was a trio with her sisters, but then she got forced into a movie and singing career and the movie company changed her name, only because her real name wasn't glamourous enough, she was told to lose weight and that is what I think is the problem with people in the public eye these days, they're told they have to be thin, glamerous and good looking in order to succeed, and I don't think it's right that people should be put under so much pressure from agents or whoever they might be in order to reach their desired superstar fame. Also I think parents have a lot to answer for when they force children into an acting or singing career- look at Maculy Kulkin, he didn't wanna be a childhood actor, but his father (I think it was) forced him into it, then when he made his millions, his father tried to take it off him, which I think is totally wrong and unfair. It's not fair the way people are treated, and I for one don't wanna see you when you're older leading a life of drug/alcohol abuse because of the way people treated you in the entertainment industry. If it's really what you wanna do, then it's fine, we'll respect it and still love you for it, but I just wanna make sure you've thought through it and know what you're getting yourself into. I also hope you haven't been offended with anything I've just said, it's not my intention, it's just how I see things.

BTW- sorry it ended up being an essay :)

Hey, Frenchy, if you are referring to the Foolish World article, "that 'Brad Pitt' crap" was written by me, not Guybrush. And guess what? I haven't heard one single objection or piece disagreeing to it (including forumers) since it went up, and that was the first published article. So don't go trying to kick **** at Guybrush and getting me involved in a huge shower of ****e.

sorry to break it to you, frenchy, but if you want to be famous you dont start at your age...if you want to be an actress or a siger, thats different......but trying to get fit and things like that to be famous is just dumb....everyone likes you because everyone knows you....you have no privacy and no true friends....just flase ones

HEY, I AM SERIOUS,

god damn, and no, i'm not spending my time "primping" or whatever. I'm doing voice lessons, guitar lessons AND dance lessons, so please, grow up. Famous people aren't all looks, and no talent, you know..

I can't sing :p even if I did try- ohhhhh guitar lessons? I always wanted to play the drums :D Hmmmmmms I remember when me and my friends tried to start a band at school- never happened, ummmm 'creative differences' ;)

Frenchy? I never said you weren't serious, I just wanted to make sure you were doing it coz you wanted to and not coz your parents were forcing you or whatever coz I don't think it's right people should be forced into something they don't wanna do, but since they're not forcing you into anything you don't wanna do, then it's fine :) I'm happy for ya.

For the rest of you guys- instead of complaining, don't you think we should be happy for Frenchy? Think about it, when she becomes famous, we can sell all her old posts on the forum to big newspapers and make a fortune from them :D JK Frenchy- we (ok I) wouldn't do that, but at least I can say "I knew that girl from the net waaaaaaaaaay before she became famous and I miss those days when she became obsessed with punk music''

I say go Frenchy, GB122, - shut up, it's her decision to leave, she's not being selfish or anything, it's only a frigging forum, you're acting like you were going out with her or something. Besides, she doesn't need to go anywhere to "become "beautiful"", she already is :)

Beligerent= war like, the dictionary went into much greater detail, but I think war like describes it pretty well :)

Frenchy said a few weeks ago she was gonna leave, and she's popped back in over the last few days and since then people have been mean about it saying she's wasting her time blah blah blah blah (ok I said that too, but I tried not to be rude about it, I just wanted to make sure Frenchy knew that becoming famous is pretty slim and she should be prepared incase it never eventuates- still I got faith in Frenchy and I have no doubt we can sell her old forum posts for a hefty price :D)

Feral has a website called foolish world and he wrote an article on how silly fame is, which the article can be found here

http://feral.topcities.com/fame.htm

I do think we're over reacting a bit- like Murta said, it is Frenchy's decision with what she wants to do with her life, we don't own her or dictate what she should do with her life, it is her life and if she wants to become fit, then that's fine, are you gonna have a go at me coz I joined a gym to get fit and lose weight? Whats the difference between me doing that and Frenchy doing whatever she's doing so she can become famous? If Frenchy is happy then that's all we should worry about, right?

thats got me pinned :)

...she's popped back in over the last few days and since then people have been mean about it saying she's wasting her time blah blah blah blah...

for the record, i didnt mean to be mean...I just meant to make a statement. Hell, if nobody tried to become famous we wouldn't have any famous people. all i wanted to say is that that's a pretty solid decision and you should have NUMEROUS back-up plans etc...because i think frenchy is putting all her eggs in one basket. and leaving the forums is no way to get famous...actually, (if you think about it) it sorta helps. so if frenchy becomes famous we all know her. so we (coming from all different places) spread her fame to our friends and BAM, shes famous. but i still think its kind of niave (sp?) of frenchy to want to be liked in quantity...because when you are famous, people dont like YOU, they like your image.

dear god i hope nobody meant to dictate her. thats the worst form of government and is basically slavery. im (we) are trying to get her to see it from a different angle, and see that perspective on things. you know, get her to be more open minded

frenchy, tolkien wrote 7 books (including the hobbit)
┤the fellowship of the ring, the two towers, the return of the king,
and silmarillion, the unfinished tales , the legend of the ring and then the hobbit. (i have read the trilogy and simarillion)

yeah, but the lord of the rings TRILOGY, is like, the 3. Plus i dunno the hobbit is a forward. The similation i THINK is about gandalf, one of them is about Strider and Arwen

Feral
02-08-2002, 05:34 PM
Yeah, but it's a trilogy made up of 7 parts, just like 'A Hitch-Hikers Guide to the Galaxy' is a trilogy in 4 parts, and the 'Star Wars' trilogy has 9 parts.

brief
02-08-2002, 06:23 PM
He wrote The Hobbit long before he wrote The Lord of the Rings. The Simarillion is about the elves, not Gandalf (although it does mention Gandalf near the end of the book), which covers almost everything from "the creation of the world" to the Second Age (IIRC). It was not really written so much as a book--What's in The Simarillion are notes Tolkien made throughout the years in regards to the background history of the fantasy world which he had created, which his son compiled and published as a book after Tolkien had passed away.

The Lord of the Rings trilogy is just that: a trilogy of three books, comprised of The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers, and The Return of the King. (Although there are sub-books within these books.) The other books are not part of this trilogy. You can consider them to be "supplemental" reading.

Metallus
02-08-2002, 06:27 PM
Sorry, any series that doesn't have exactly three distinct episodes isn't a trilogy. The Star Wars trilogy is used to describe episodes 4-6; the originals. Since there were only 3 movies in existence from 1983-1999, the "trilogy" tag sort of stuck.

As for LoTR, it's really supposed to be one unit with 6 volumes. There are 2 volumes for each book released (at least, I think that's how it works).

Jack
02-09-2002, 03:09 AM
yep brief. silmarillion is silmaril in plural(elf lngauge), and the silmarils were created by FŰanor, the greatest elv of them all.he created them from the tree of light to bring the world light when the tree was destroyed. Melkor , who became morgoth, was the first dark lord and saurons boss. he took the silmarils and went back to middle earth. That started a war between morgoth and the elves.
the book is kinda boring.

The unfinished tales has got facts about istari (the 5 wizards)
and other stuff.it has about 500 pages.

The legend of the ring tells us everything (almost) about all living kinds, like trolls, ents, dwarfs, hobbits, humans, elves and orchs.
it also has a part named the adventures of tom bombadill,
the guy in the old forest

Natty
02-10-2002, 06:15 AM
I kinda tend to think of the StarWars episodes 4,5,6 as the 'old trilogy' and once episode 2 and 3 come out I'm gonna think of the first 3 as the 'new trilogy' which sounds kinda tacky but oh well :D

/me realises he's stumbled into nerd zone and slowly realises that he has no understanding of anything here

j/k, I've never been into Tolkien/Discworld/stuff - basically fantasy. That is except for the Alan Garner books The weirdstone Of Brinsingamen, The Moon Of Gomrath and Elidor (mainly read the first two because they were based near where I live, but the evil people and the wizards and dwarves and stuff were cool)
Oh and the excellent Amber series by Roger Zelazny (just plain cool, sorta medievil in setting, but parts are modern and these guys almost have superpowers, like the main character in the first one can regenerate and stuff, some guy burnt his eyeballs out with pokers and locked him in this dungeon for years and his eyes slowly grew back cos he's super and stuff
