View Full Version : Will you be a Light or Dark Jedi in MP?

02-09-2002, 02:02 AM
Another random poll... :)

I'll probably be Dark.

02-09-2002, 02:10 AM
:ewok: Come on people, it's 100% Dark, won't anyone bring balance to the force?

02-09-2002, 02:27 AM
Yes. Yes I will :)

I could never be anything but a Light Jedi - I am at my best when I am relaxed and calm.

I could definitely play as a Dark Jedi / Sith - it might be fun for a while, but I expect my true passive nature to draw me back to the Light side eventually. :p ;)

DF in its nature is all about the phyical. Guns have been my forte from the beginning, gun are what i will use.

Lemme see your puny lightsabers block my rocket launcher.

[force jump]

...oookay. running away now.

02-09-2002, 03:34 AM
I'm an insufferable lightie. :)

02-09-2002, 03:47 AM
I'll probably be Dark as the powers look really cool. But after I've played the game and had time to assess all the individual powers I might change my mind :D

02-09-2002, 03:50 AM
Sorry i cant pick, i will be both so i dont cast a vote

02-09-2002, 04:01 AM
lol, I'd be Uber.. but I don't cheat, I just play one at a time... :p

02-09-2002, 07:40 AM
I'm the Light Side sort.

02-09-2002, 07:51 AM
I choose dark, good force powers, if only I could have dark and force heal.

02-09-2002, 07:54 AM
Actually Id like to just be neutral :).....all those powers on their own would be quite a formidable force :)

02-09-2002, 08:18 AM
good point, good old jump and speed.

02-09-2002, 10:51 AM
Id like to know all force powers available, and then play with them and decide
If the few announced are all, It will be easier to master the force than in JK, so there wouldnt be much problem in playing some times light and sometimes dark

02-09-2002, 10:52 AM
Even though it would be nice to stick to just one side :)

02-10-2002, 12:02 AM
My decision will be based completey on tactics and stratagy. If you think that light vs dark is a moral decision then god help you if you run into a WD/JaG/HDK/dp/SyK.

You do know that you'll be forced to choose, correct? It isnt like MotS.

Another question, how do you know if those clans will be any good at all when the game hasn't even been released yet?

02-10-2002, 12:21 AM
my descision will too be based on tactics and strategy...

you should have put one of the options in the poll as "Depends on their tactical value" :)

02-10-2002, 12:24 AM
I'd probably be light. But I'd also have at least 1 "dark" power ( as lightning and/or grip);)

02-10-2002, 12:28 AM
Tactics and strategy? You mean, choose light or dark depending on whether the level consists of guns or sabers only? Beyond that, I have no clue what you're talking about...since MP will have the powers split up once again like in Jedi Knight.

02-10-2002, 12:49 AM
Lighties 0wnz0rz j00! 'Cause we're the good guys & gals (Waccy and kim!)! ;P

02-10-2002, 02:28 AM
whichever side is best for the map/settings/who you're playing agaisnt, etc.

02-10-2002, 02:52 AM
Oh, gotcha. :) I just have a preference for light powers, most likely even more in JK2 than in JK because saber throw lets you have a ranged attack in sabers only. In JK, you had to choose either protecting yourself or being able to attack from a distance. Of course, since saber throw can be blocked more effectively than lightning, dark still has its usefulness...

Exactly, you wont. Thats why im not going to join a clan for a couple of weeks. Im going to be on my own and fight against clans until I find one that can beat me through some good strategy :D

If thats the case then it is balanced

balance = everything shade of grey= no darkside because theirs no light side to contrast it

02-10-2002, 05:55 AM
I think many people will stick to one side. Its much better to stick to one side and learn the strengths and weaknesses and then develop strategies :)

02-10-2002, 05:57 AM
remember, KNOW YOUR ENEMY...

you have to play both sides :)

02-10-2002, 06:24 AM
Well I can practice the otherside in a few bot matches.......but ONLY dark side in multiplayer for me :)

02-10-2002, 06:40 AM
Depends on my mood at the time.. I'd like to learn both.

I'll probably start with light, and then go from there.... ; )

02-10-2002, 07:26 AM
Hmmmm although i DO think that i will play both a lot, i just like Dark :) So after i post im gonna vote dark, even though I might play light just as much or more when the final game comes around :)

02-10-2002, 07:54 AM
it's really a tough decision, it's like asking for the answer to half of a question. So far I'm with dark but I might change my mind when the game comes out.:p

02-10-2002, 08:13 AM
Even though most of you have said Dark the poll still says light

Jedi Howell
02-10-2002, 08:24 AM
light first, then dark...unless the darkies have some super advantage or something...waddya think about f_teamheal?

02-10-2002, 08:46 AM
I think teams will consist of equal number of dark and light. There will be light to heal people and dark to destroy people. I dont think Dark will have an advantage.....Raven will want to make each side as even as possible :)

02-10-2002, 09:11 AM
I think the reason that the poll says light and everybody here is saying dark is because many people vote but do not post. As I said before, I like the dark force powers and force heal so I think that is a good reason to have an even mix of dark and light.

02-10-2002, 09:26 AM
Maw, can i have ma tea noo!
U cannot have your tea until u fight the darkside of the force muhuwhaahaha!
so the kettle's boiling?

I chose dark :D

02-10-2002, 09:29 AM
Can you have mixed teams?

light and dark jedi vs dark and light jedi???

Some Dark only vs Light only will be fun t oo!

Jedi vs. Sith :)

02-10-2002, 09:39 AM
I cant see why not :D

02-10-2002, 10:33 AM
Well im poop at guns and on jk i usually play no force because people who are dark jedi's and use grip its just annoying cuz like 80% of kills are by force, but if i play a full force game then im always a light jedi because force protection (is cheap) but it keeps u alive :D

I'd be a nice goody 2 shoes and be a light jedi hoo ha!

*does a highland jig*

kim -x-

02-10-2002, 10:49 AM
I'm definitely a light Jedi. Power doesn't affect me. Good old fasioned light side for me, I think.

02-10-2002, 10:56 AM
Uggghh.. I have grown to hate grip!!! It's so cheap in JK. It imobilizes you and you can get away! arrrgghhh!!
That's why absorb is great, but it doesn't allow you to move though...
And that another reason why I perfer NF games...

02-10-2002, 11:18 AM
I don't think it will be that way in JK2, though, Silent.

Silent Wolf
02-10-2002, 11:25 AM
Whoever said play both sides so you can know your enemy was dead on. I really despise force lightning and grip (i didnt like the way they were implemented in multiplayer) So i know ill proably be a light jedi junkie. Besides you can electrocute me all you like, but if you let me get my force heal in..your ass is grass :P

This game is gonna be really interesting multiplayer, simply because of the sheer amount of passion people have for star wars and issues just like this :D

02-10-2002, 11:35 AM
It'll be great competition.

02-10-2002, 11:43 AM
I'll be playing both sides.

02-10-2002, 11:47 AM
Lightside 4 me!! :D

I think it's really cool how Force lightning goes until the target is dead, you run out of Force, or...something else. It truly shows the corrupting nature of the dark side. You can't stop hurting people. Lightning is such a powerful power too. It will even it out a little that once a dark side player use lightning they will need a little while to recharge. That's when to strike.

02-10-2002, 12:55 PM
YEA.......sounds cool.........

Force Lightning
Allows the player to hurl a devastating electrical attack against foes. When a foe is targeted by this power, it locks on and continues to drain the enemy and consume the attacker's Force Pool. This continues until the enemy perishes, goes out of range, or the player's Force Pool is depleted.

02-10-2002, 01:02 PM
 That sure is a hard question:confused:

I'm not sure yet which will I be...time will tell...
Dark jedi's have nice tricks like force lighting but in the other hand heal and persuasion are also good powers...
Damn it is hard to choose

Bio Warrior
02-10-2002, 01:46 PM
id be dark but i wouldnt use any cheap force powers that are unfair

02-10-2002, 03:01 PM
Isn't persuasion (or mind trick as it is now called) actually a neutral power now? That's what I think it said of the JKII website

02-10-2002, 03:08 PM
I would choose the Light Side. The dark side isn't stronger, its just the quick and easy path.

02-10-2002, 03:11 PM
The quick and easy path is the best :D

02-10-2002, 07:23 PM
"Quick and easy path..."

LMAO I wonder if you guys will ever realize that movie lines have nothing to do with actual game dymanics.

Hehe Grip isn't cheap, you just have to know how to deal with it. People who get good arn't the kind to whine, complain, and say things like "grip is cheap." The people who get good learn from those who are better and use what they learned to beat the crap out of the next guy hehe. Don't complain about something, learn to use it to your own advantage. Welp, that's if you ever want to leave newbieville.

BGJ is the ONLY map that a protection user (bubble boy as I call them) can hope to win a 1v1 on, and only if they lag and know the right stategy.

02-10-2002, 07:28 PM
"The quick and easy path" Phhffhfh!! I perfer a good challenge myself...

Bio Warrior
02-10-2002, 07:30 PM
course grip aint cheap and the only cheap power that was in JK was Deadly Sight

02-10-2002, 07:33 PM
Deadly Sight was pretty cheap, but it was rarely used (that is, used against me). I usually destructed to dead along with grip. Though, destruct can be easily avoided.

02-10-2002, 10:23 PM
Bah, deadly sight newbie = easy kill.

02-10-2002, 10:50 PM
Deadly sight was pretty lame in JK/MotS since A) it was lame conceptually in the first place B) it didn't do much damage at once, and could easily be avoided since it didn't immobilize you like grip and C) it drained all the user's mana. Worse, in JK, to use it you forfeited all neutral powers. I never used it except with SBX 3, where I could toggle it off and on. (and then only in MotS)

02-11-2002, 01:45 PM
The light side is the only side for me...
