I've already quit T2. Several JaG players have played T2 competitively over the past year (nCn, TF, KORE). I played T1 for 2 years before that. T2 didn't have the same feel.

Yes, My first on-line game was Jediknight dark forces 2 between playing it losing it finding scratching and buying a new one it became one of my faorites. Then when tribes came around I switched to that sure it had imporoved graphics but no storm troopers or light sabers. Now I am playing Tribes 2 and RtCW but once JK2 is here they are going away. :atat: :atat: :atat: :atat:

One thing I love about t2 is it's competitive level, I had a big match last night, and nothing is more fun than that.... btw you've prolly never heard of them but Im in |=MR=|

Yea, I played for nCn. We played mostly 12 man and switched to base++ recently. I got tired fo the unbalanced aspect of the game. It was too D-intensive. Base++ improved that, but it still had the bad physics. Ah well, I went back to T1.

I feel your pain, the physics really do suck. Im still playing t2 though, t1 just feels to out of date on my 1.3 ghz computer but its still a blast to play

What is Tribes 2 rated and what is the story line behind it?

It's rated "Teen" if that's what you mean. It has no real story. It's basically completely multiplayer.

I've played T1 for about 3 years and T2 since it came out.

I played T2 for a while, but it was very buggy and got about 10fps on my system.

very fun game though. I played T1 for years. The only thing that kept it alive for me though was a mod called "TAC" - Team aerial combat.

See, the thing is, if oyu touched the ground, you died.

So you had to work as a team. It was mainly a capture the flag game, and you had to use apcs. There were only the LPCs (2 passengers, and 1 driver) and the HPCs (4 passengers, 1 driver)

The driver couldnt hold the flag, so there had to be at least 1 passenger. The flag platforms were often really small so you could fire a discy at it when someones on there and theyd fall onto the ground and explode.

Very very very fun mod. It brought teamplay back into Tribes.

They actually made TAC2 for Tribes 2, and i was a beta tester. It's got some very fun gameplay modes, like chaser, where theres on person from each team out there on a hover bike, far away, with no armor, weapons, or radar. The other team had to find and kill the other teams Biker, and the biker didnt know who was friend or enemy til they were fired upon. Very fun :D

made by a bunch of aussies I might add.

fun stuff. check it

I found T1 to be very teamwork-oriented. The game could be played with minimal coordination, but at the highest levels of competition, precise coordination was required. In T2, because of the defensive advantage, high levels of coordination are needed on almost all levels of competition.

The only mod i enjoyed for T1 was IX. I loved the flak cannon.

02-11-2002, 11:25 PM
Tribes 2 runs on it's own engine and (to awnser this fourms original purpose) when i finish with T2 i'm going on to CnC Renegade

I used to play tribes 2. I played it religiously for about 3 months (after being a fan or the orig tribes, I played that for a month or 2), until the complete newbieism on public servers got too out of hand that I started only playing with my clan. When that split up, I had no real drive to play T2 anymore.

Is Tribes 2 outdated or is it still any good? I might buy it to pass the time before JO comes out.
