How many units can you select at once?

50 i think. you can control 50 per number, if u assign teams.

I'm not sure if it's exactly 50... I've never been able to actually count them all... it becomes hard once there are more than 21 (7 per line, 3 lines, in the bottom window there). I know I have done 36 in a single group. I also know at some point over 36, it stops letting you add units to a group. Exactly where is that? 50 sounds like it might be close. My guess would've been around 40.

I think I will check it tonight and see exactly... shouldn't bee too hard...

just multiply the maximum amount by the number of teams u can make, and that's how many units u can control at once, well..not really since the max pop is 200.

If you want to be picky about it I imagine the number is 200.

Say you can have 40 units in a group. We'll call it group One. If those units are Heavy Assault Mechs they can each hold 12 units IIRC.

You can assign 40 units to "Guard" each of the units in group One. You're maybe not controlling them in the full sense of the word, but they move where you want them to move.

So 40 units and 40 units guarding each of those is 1600 units... of course you could have units guarding the guards... The population limit eventually stops this foolishness.

It would take a long time to set up but I could see this being a tactic for a "final assault".

Great, except the question was how many units you can select (with the mouse) at once, not how many you can effectively control. ;)

40 exactly. I always make groups of ten when builiding military, and I could only select 4 of these grous, so 40 is the number that you are looking for!
