View Full Version : Who is taking off School/Work/Other to play this game the day it is released???

02-25-2002, 07:23 AM
Are you a freak like me?

02-25-2002, 07:33 AM
... this is why I'm so pure with the light side - I have nearly infinite patience ... ;)

I am very excitedly waiting, but if it comes out on the 25th of March, I will live patiently for nearly 2 weeks (until my Apr5 b-day) with the knowledge that the game is in my house, in the bottom of our bedroom entertainment center where my wife always puts my presents.

Well Australia doesn't usually get set in stone release dates, so taking the whole week I expect it to arrive off really wouldn't work. :)

02-25-2002, 08:17 AM
No, I'm not a freak like you! :) It ain't easy to take days off from school here. (Well, atleast in highschool.) Besides, I really don't have too much time on my hands right now: I've got tons of books to read and even more stuff to write. Plus, being a lazy [person] like me doesn't really help.

[Edit - Stormy - swearing. ]

I AM! :D

I will at least take a couple days off, and also since it comes out supposedly on the 28th here (one day before my B-Day, w00t! :D) so..... yeah I guess 'Why not?'

Cheers ;)

The Opportunity Cost would be far too high for me to take off work to play the game. Assuming I took the day off unpaid, I could buy the game several times over. A far most cost-effective option is for me to simply pick up the game the afternoon it's released and play that evening

02-25-2002, 10:08 AM
I work at home so, it won't be a problem to get the game and play a little in between working...

Or is that work a little in between playing...

(Impatiently) *cough* I might get the w4r3z beta version of JK2 *cough*

Just kidding JK2 deserves money :)

02-25-2002, 10:20 AM
It depends If employed!
If not I will be working from home, so I could "WORK" on Jedi Outcast :p

I've never skipped school for a game and never will ^.^

02-25-2002, 03:40 PM
if it comes out at the end of march. that's when i have spring break so....i would be able to play all day and stay up late playing. he he he with of course snack breaks!

02-25-2002, 03:51 PM
I've also got spring break. I'm planning to invite 2 of my friends over. We will stay up all night and play. If it truly is 15 hours long on Rookie, we probably won't finish it. But we should have 2 or 3 days left of break before school again, so I'm excited!

02-25-2002, 04:07 PM
I will

I skipped for State of Emergency a few weeks ago and I'll skip for this

"Hello my son won't be coming into school today cuz he is getting a brand new Star Wars game. He is in the 12th grade and his SS# is 123-45-6789. Thank You"

I'm with locke. If it does come out at the end of the month, I won't be in school anyways. But if I am in school, I get out at 2:25 so I can get to my local Best Buy before 3:00 and be home with it around 3:20. I can wait until 3:20 to have. After all, I've waited this long.

02-25-2002, 08:16 PM
I get off of School at the same time as you Dan12R. But, I won't be skipping school because of a VIDEO GAME, it's really not worth it.

02-25-2002, 08:23 PM
Nope, won't skip. I can't afford it, I've sacrificed enough going with people who have cars to eat breakfast. Problem is, if they don't feel like going, I can't, because I can't drive yet...

Sounds Risky

It'll come out on Tuesday. I usually don't go to school on Monday though, so I'm a day off.

Well I got to go to work that day but you can bet right when 2 in the after noon hit's I'm down too EB unless my store would happen to have it! Which I highly dought it.

02-26-2002, 12:35 PM
I'm hoping it comes out in time for spring break, otherwise I'll just have to pick up a copy and let it sit (maybe wait, so I'm not tempted to play instead of study).

Heh. ; )

I'll definately buy the game within a week of release.. of this, there can be no doubt!

02-26-2002, 06:06 PM
I've just realised something from reading some of the release Dates!!!!!

I'm going to be in the Peak District doing biology Research for two weeks!!!!!

I'm not back till April the 1st!!!!:swear:

My Life just lost all meaning. I will have to spent Four Days! With the knowledge that my copy is at home un-touched!!!!While I'm up to my armpits in a river collecting samples!!!!:freakout: :evil6:

(PS : Anyone like my Avatar?)

Have to skip school.

Aint life grand:D

02-26-2002, 08:37 PM

I'm starting to think that overachieving High School students involved in extra curricular activities are the busiest people on earth (me: 7 periods every year since 6th grade, as many honors/AP classes as i can, flute, improv (SOOOOOO FUN!!!) and involved in church). Except maybe for teachers (K-12). Oh well. Two more years.

Anyway, I can't really skip school. That just generates more work for yourself later, unless you want your grades to drop. And spring break is full for me. I'm taking my 30 hr. driver's ed that week. Well, there are always weekends.
