View Full Version : suit in concept art
If you have visited the concept art section of the Lucas Arts website, then you've probably seen this:

Does anyone know if anything is mentioned about the suit? It looks like a battle suit from the preview shots of Quake IV and Unreal 2, or maybe it has a different significance in the Star Wars universe; like a mantainance suit? Input is appreciated.

EU experts? what is that in the EU and how does it work? If it exists, It could be something new

Didn't we start calling this guy "The Jerk" back in an old thread?
It doesn't seem to have propellers, so it is a ground-type suit. It does seem to pack an awsome fire-power, though, which leads to the conclusion that it's some kind of "humanoid/wearable tank", maybe we'll be able to get into one of these things in Single Player?

Unless... this is going to be the suit that main villain, Admiral Galak Fyyar(not Dark Jedi Desann) uses when we fights againts Kyle. As Brett Tosti mentioned in XGR interview, "he was Emperor's sort of right hand man as far as new technology and science is concerned", so he really needs a powerful arsenal, if he is trying to defeat "Jedi", who doesn't hesitate to use Dark Side powers as well. I wouldn't be surprised, if Fyyar had designed this one himself. Or am I thinking too much AvP 2 here? ;)

Is it me? or does that look like the machine from (I know it's not star wars) Alien or Aliens, at the end when the woman get's in it and attacks the alien?
I know it's Aliens, but i'm just thinking. :)

Might be for Quake 4, since Raven is developing it.

We all know that there are some missions on a mining facility at the beginning and then on cloud city. This might be a mining type suit. It's got the claw and the gun so it kind of makes sense. Shoot crap and then carry it back. heh

Wouldn't the guy need a helmet then (or some kind of head protection)? Or are there no labor unions in the star wars universe!!!

It's quite obvious that it's a Dark Trooper heading to the bathroom and then wondering how he will be able to go.:ball:

I'm pretty sure this thing is that really cool vehicle that everyone keeps mentioning and then saying "its a suprise".
Damn. I like suprises.

I think the drivable vehicle might be an AT-ST. I don't really think that the suit counts as a vehicle. Like Apparition said, if you look at the NRI reports they say about mining operations and the suit will probably be being used by characters there.

Just add in the moustache and it's the Bionic Simon Come to Kill Us All (patent-pending)
; )
Maybe we can have bots like this guy fighting us in Multiplayer Deathmatch, that would add some extra spice into Multiplayer games, and it would make sense, since with all that armour, he could go against a Jedi, but not for long!

The suit is for mining, the gun will kill you.

This picture is 8 months old, it's possible the guy isn't even in the game anymore, or maybe still is, but looks alot different...

The picture then would have been removed, or we would have been presented with an updated model of the person if anything had changed, but you might be right, afterall, they changed many things in different versions of the Beta's

I doubt this is a mining suit. If you look at the guy's collar, you'll notice it looks very similar to an Imperial officer's collar. I don't think officers would be wasting their time mining junk. I think this is more likely the concept of the combat suit that the evil guy (TM) uses.
hmmm, I noticed that too. But would that mean the Bad Guy(TM) we have to fight does not use the force (since he doesn't seem to be able to hold a lightsabre)?

I think it would've looked cooler if it looked more like a Dark Trooper :).
Yay, I just graduated to ewok!!!

True, you'd think that the developers would make the fight be an epic lightsaber battle w/ a Dark Jedi or something.

There is always the chance of having multiple bosses littered throughout the SP game...
Actually, I hope it is one of the bosses, because it will make a bit of a change from simply dueling Dark Jedi, like we did in JK...
That pincer attachment might actually be some kind of shield generator, too...to deflect your lightsaber. Anything's possible. :)
Or he could be saying...
"You want to see a force grip? Get a load of this, Jedi scum..."
I guess it would be nice to go back to the roots of the series (i.e DarkForces) were you didn't have your lightsaber, and had to work with what you have (your wit and your guns), so this guy does seem to be a very good candidate to be a Level Boss.

He better have some kind of helmet or force field generator then... because one well placed disruptor shot would end his party real quick.. wouldn't you say? ; p
I'm guessing that enemies can use the same items the player uses in SP mode, so he might be able to us the Force Field Generators(TM) that are scattered throughout the level, or maybe (gasp!) his suit is already equipped with a Force Field Generator(TM).
the jerk's suit looks like the thing out of Alien

Has anyone here seen 'Supernova'? A Sci-fi movie with Angela Basset and James Spader.....
The suit looks alot like the one Spader uses at the end of the movie, except for the...err...boots and the....ehh....gun hand :D
*I noticed ChangKhan surfing the forums*
Greetings ChangKhan,
Can you tell us whether this character is still in the final version of JKII? or did you decide to drop him altogether?
Thanks in advance.
db6
edit:hmm, he totally ignored that...
