Navigating the swamp

I have read all the current threads on the swamp BUT unable to make it happen - get thrown into the time warp after opening the gate - including reloading an old game and trying to get new directions (same ones given).

Has anyone moved W -- W -- S after opening the gate and not got caught in the time warp ?

The directions are different everytime, we don't know what your directions are. But make sure to watch the clock when using the map.

Well it is so odd - after trying for ages I post my question on this forum only to find that the next day I manage to get through the swamp (with the same directions I had all along).

How do i navigate the swamp? I dont get how to read the clock and directions? which way would i move it said like 12:15 W? PLEASE HELP!!!!
