View Full Version : The Overlooked Vehicles Of Star Wars

There's an awful lot of vehicles that would have made some great units in GB.
I had a Kenner Imperial steamroller/one-seated vehicle of the Empire, for instance. Think it was called IMP-7. Can you think of any more that were overlooked ?

I forget their exact name, but those black sun fighters from SotE. I think they'd make really good air units....but then again, their Black Sun, and their not in the game.

Hey are the MT-At's in the game? Cause if not they should have been!
BTW Gamma I think they are called StarVipers

This thing:

Here's some info:

The AT-IC was only produced in limited quantities due to the specific nature of its mission usefulness, but in those cases where one was called upon, they performed with exemplary service records. Less than 100 of these walkers were manufactured in the days of the Empire, and were stationed aboard Star Destroyers which saw frequent ground assault featuring bombardment from starfighters of atmospheric craft. These walkers supplemented a marching line of AT-AT walkers in order to protect them from such attacks, but still maintained many of the weaknesses of their charges as well.

The AT-IC took the basic build of an AT-AT and removed most of the rear sections that housed stormtroopers and other personnel. Opening up the rear sections to the air, a starfighter-scale ion cannon was added in a semi-turret position. The ion cannon could rotate on 3 fire arcs, and fired ion bolts powerful enough to disable even the toughest starfighters in one shot. The remaining portions of the walker were used for cannon personnel and technicians, as well as a large self-cooled power generator to enable the gunners to fire a shot every few seconds at incoming craft. A computer targeting system, which could uplink with the Star Destroyer in orbit and receive sensor data, gave the cannon long-range capability, as well as the increased accuracy that was needed to improve survivability.

*gasps* I'm not used to typing that much at one time!

Yeah, they were StarVipers, your right.

And that AT-IC would be a great unit. Considering how slow AT-AT's are and their weakness against air stuff, the AT-IC would be a really useful and cool unit.

Where'd you get that pic from? I've never heard of the AT-IC before.

SW RPG Network.com :D I saw it once in the SW Collector mag...

I would like to see, an E-Wing, or a K-Wing.

08-22-2001, 08:38 PM
E-wings would be cool. I bet they are in GB. Does anyone have a pic of a K-wing? I know that they are bombers, but that's it.

Thats a K-wing? I think they should be a little fatter to carry all those bombs though, but it still think they look cool.:)

E-wings and K-wings would really be getting into the EU area.....

Bespin Motors Void Spider THX 1138

Is this thing unheard of or what? :D

Admiral Odin

Just because it is EU doesn't mean it bad.

Cloud Cars would also be a good addition

They just made it up for the Game. Yeah I would like to See Mt-Ats as a special Hero unit...it wouldn't be all that useful though. Just really good at menuvering on hills.

kvan, are you talking about those spider shaped vehicles? if so, they look pretty cool and should be in the game.

since boba fett probably will be in the game, i'm wondering if they will include ships for bounty hunters, such as his SLAVE I ship, but i seriously doubt it.

08-23-2001, 11:24 AM
I don't know about that. I think that the Slave I may be in the game. After all, if you read Gaber's "Greetings" then you know that they are including Trandoshan slaver ships. The Slave I isn't that far from those. :)

The imperial Missle boats from the X-wing and TIE fighter series were pretty cool, though they would wreak serious imbalancing issues on the GB battlefields! :D

08-23-2001, 11:55 AM
is there any anti-air unit that resides in the air? the missle boat could fill that slot.

Tie Guy
08-23-2001, 05:51 PM
all of the air units are other anti-air weapons as well. I'm betting that TIE Fighters will be better against air, and Bombers againt the ground. Same with the X-wing and Y-wing.

xwing guy

Yeah, and the A-wing and Tie Intercepter would be the best anti-air probably.

08-23-2001, 07:04 PM
YES! Fighters can attack other fighters!!! No need for missiles boats ;)

Once upon a time I was browsing trough the technical commentaries at TF.N and I bumbed across some kind of AT-AT swimmer. It's some kinda AT-AT made for underwater operations.

The changes that this one will be in GB are very small (Gungans are the only civ with underwater vehicles) I tought that would be a cool one worth mentioning. (Expansion maybe?)

They should have put the TIE Crawler in for the ATPT. ATPTs aren't even in the empire, and they never were. they were Old Rebpublic technology. the Crawler however, is a legitimate light mech for empire that they definately overlooked.

08-31-2001, 03:30 PM
Maybe TIE Crawlers will be in the scenario editor...
