Darth = Dark Lord of the Sith
Whenever someone becomes a Sith, they take a "code name" (secrecy being such a big part of the Sith Order), with "Darth" to show that they are a Sith Lord (as opposed to a lower Sith warrior).

I saw somewhere that Vader really means Father and Darth does mean Dark so...
Darth Vader = Dark Father
Kind of funny that it means that seeing that Vader was Luke's Father and he was on the darkside :D
07-19-2001, 08:06 PM
Wow, an interesting piece of symbolism.
07-20-2001, 06:27 AM
You don't know the power of the Darth side...

WHOA!!!!!! Since my name is Darth Prime, wouldn't that mean I would have the Matrix? If there are any Transformer fans here, think about that. Optimus Prime had the Autobot Matrix of Leadership. And when Hotrod got it, it transformered him into Rodimus Prime. Now, would that seem weird to some of you?

Let's cut open your chest and see if it's there ;).

Rodimus Prime was a crappy futuristic Optimus Prime. He was a wuss. I was mad when Optimus died.

We can use my lightmachette if ya want!
07-22-2001, 11:46 PM
Well, that's just Prime.
Yes, the Matrix-Bearer is called Prime, because he/she is considered to be the descendant/heir of Primus, the first Transformer/Transformer deity.
_____ Prime = Darth ________. A "taken name" assumed when an autobot takes the Matrix Crystal. Orion Pax became Optimus Prime, and Hot Rod became Rodimus Prime.
The Prime's generals are sometimes called Primals, because they follow the Prime.
Thus, in Beast Wars and Beast Machines, Optimus Primal was a high-ranking Maximal, but not the Prime (until Beast Machines, but by then, the Matrix Crystal had presumably been lost, so he never took the name Prime.
Those of us who live in North America, and have access to FOX Kids should make it a point to tune in this Fall to see a newly translated animé series.
Transformers: Robots in Disguise is an "alternate-universe" retelling of the Transformers saga. In this version, the autobots and decepticons awaken in Tokyo. The show is animé, but with some computer-assisted special effects (like the Digimon movie, or Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz).
This has the potential to either suck, or to be the coolest thing ever! :D
07-27-2001, 01:39 AM
Please don't mention FOX Kids. Reason: they edit things. For example, "Code of Hero", the episode were Dinobot died, after he cut Inferno and shot Black Arachnia away, he took Inferno's gun, which was still in Inferno's hand, pointed it towards his head, and blew Inferno's head off. When the same episode was shown on FOX Kids, the part with Inferno's head being blown off was cut out.
07-27-2001, 02:48 PM
No! Not that! Anything but that! :D
Pedro The Hutt
07-27-2001, 04:00 PM
Nooo!! Not censoring... AAAAAAAAHHH!!! :D
07-27-2001, 05:08 PM
Yes, but (around here, anyway), if it shows up on Fox Kids, it'll probably also appear (un-cut) on some other network.
Around here, YTV is always trying to out do Fox Kids (as their only real competition).
07-28-2001, 02:09 AM
I wouldn't know, BeastMaster. All I know is they editted that part and a some other scenes from through out the show.
07-28-2001, 08:27 PM
You can cross 2 Darths off your list... Maul and Vader are Captains now ;)
07-29-2001, 02:11 PM
1 off the captain list too :D
07-30-2001, 06:54 AM
Did you know Luke means Light I read it in a baby name book I think :D
How weird would it be if someone was called Darth Luke that would mean Dark lord of the sith light of dark light! creepy!
07-30-2001, 11:25 AM
