I love the game as it is, but the ending seems very open. Possibly somthing could happen while Kyle is on the beaches of whatchamacallit. And his little re-energizing from the valley is wearing off, leaving him with level 1 pull/push/jump/speed.
then you need a creative plot, and a hateable bad guy, and boom, expansion.

Its a thing companies like to do. Leave the ending open for money...err...I mean...uh...A "Sequel"...

I couldn't care less about what Kyle does in an expansion as long as Mara is back and playable. :D
