View Full Version : recorded demo -> mpeg/avi
I was told this was possible but hard to do...I want to try it out but so far haven't been able to find anybody who will send me instructions. A little help here?

There is a console command that will take a series of screenshots (you can set the rate).
You would load up your demo, run it, and engage that command. When you're done, there'll be a bunch of .jps in your 'screenshots' folder. Then, you need to convert those to avi or something similar using another program.
Sorry I don't have specifics.
Now just need to find somebody who knows that command....yay. bleah.

If it's the same as in Q3 its cg_avidemo x, where the x specifies the fps...
Great! thanks a lot...I appreciate it.

Hey no problem :) I don't exactly know what file-type they are using now, but if you need a converter from Targas or BMP's just mail me and I'll send it over to you.

cg_avidemo 25 to get 25 jpg's a second
cg_avidemo 0 to turn off jpg export
all the shots go to your "screenshots" folder and are numerically sequenced automatically
one thing though:
if you don't have a high end system, be ready for lots of crashes if you use this command, it's very taxing on your system.
also:
unless you have a good video compression codec, a 30 second avi will be around 200Megs in file size
