I'd love to make a skin for you, the only problem is that I can't seem to be able to change my zip files to pk3 files. As soon as I've figured that one out, I'd love to help you. In the meen time, gimme the info on what you want, and I'll start working on it. I just won't be able to complete it just yet.
Hope that's okay...

Hep! I figured it out. Anyway, I guess I should tell you that I'm not an expert at this. I can make decent skins, but the top of the leage is out of my reach, I guess.
My main asset in skin making, is that I think it's fun, but I don't wanna get your hopes up, so here's a general list of what I can and can not do:
Coloration changes (blue to red, etc.)- Simple as hell, no probs.
Shiny metallic surfaces, like rings, studs and so forth - No probs.
Worn metallic surfaces, like armour, iron and so forth - I get a decent result. Still learning though.
Leather clothing/details - Decent results.
Tatoos - Easy, easy, easy!
Face alteration, like higher cheekbones, etc. - Decent results.
Completely new faces - As long as it's a good fit and the I have a good picture too work from, I get decent results.
Hair - Not so good results yet. But I'm getting there.
-CAN NOT DO-
Faces that does not fit well with the model - I'm not going to spend days trying to make a human face fit well on a stormtrooper helmet.
Skins that would take me ages to complete - No, I will not make a Yoda, Darth Vader or Scooby Doo skin.
Cartoon skins - i.e. No Cartmans. I like the fat porker, but it's really boring making cartoon skins.
With that in mind, also remember that I do this because I like it, but I won't spend ages on a skin, and I can only do my best.
Hope you're still interested.

hey, ventgala, I'm having some troubles skinning I was wondering if you could help me. Well here's my problem, I have edited everything, the . skin file and the jpgs, but when I go into the game, I can see my character's HUD icon in the multiplayer setup menu, but when I start my own server (not pure) it doesn't let me use my skin? why not? what can I change?

I seem to remember having the same problem with my first skin, but I'm not sure as to what I did to remedy it...:o
I'll look in to it, meanwhile, send me your .pk3 file. If I can look at it I might be able to figure out what's wrong. My adress is email@example.com
Btw, do you know anything about 3D modelling, UVW mapping to be precise. I'm kinda stuck with my sabre model...

two things, no I don't know about 3D mapping, I'm very beginner skinner, lol, second, I don't know how to make it a pk3 file

Whats the path you've used, could it be that you changed the name of the folder? Also, if you don't know how to make pk3's, I'm guessing you haven't read the exellent tutorial by raven. It comes with the tools. get it at
I must say, if you've gotten ANYWHERE without the tools and the tutorial, I'm very impressed! And don't worry, you might be a "newbie" (hate that expression) now, but you won't be for long...
Post again if I'm way off:p

Send me the .pk3 file. I'll look at it and see if I can find the problem. :)
