Finally, after three years, they provide something worth downloading (I hope). This is the first of two major downloads they plan before the final release.

I'm downloading the 23 meg monster now...

Check it out and give the guys on the team feedback! ; )

Well then don't try it out...

I think I can safely say you aren't missing a great deal. This release seems pretty unstable and unbalanced right now (it is a test after all). It crashed quite a bit on my system. Perhaps in a few months when they release DM test #2..

Looks like they released a small patch, it crashes far less frequently now.

I also noticed you have to switch to left or right handedness (they set center by default, so you can't see the new gun models).

The third person saber camera is still a bit off, and the third person gun models are still screwy.

Balance-wise, the trouble is the weapons do a huge amount of damage (even the starting blaster pistol), and that combined with the impossible aim of the bots makes it well.. impossible.

One can't simply run up to the guy and kill him with the saber like JK.. whew. ; p

Still, good to see they are making progress, and I look forward to the SINGLE PLAYER portion when it is finished. If you go to their message boards you can give the team feedback there too.
