Stuck near the Lady Luck

I've taken out the turret that pinned down Lando, then killed a bunch of enemies in a room with pipes, but now I can't get any further..!!

I'm standing on a catwalk where I'm able to spot Lando below. If I continue I reach a door, but its locked.

Have I missed a switch some place earlier in the level?

Am I supposed to reach the platform where the turret is somehow?

This is a bit difficult to describe, so I don't blame you if it doesn't make sense ;) but please help me if you know what I'm talking about.
