View Full Version : My CTF Map

Well, it seems that everyone already has my CTF map before i've even publicly released it, so I'm inclined to revert to my original intention and make the release version a Massassi Exclusive. I've seen a thread on these forums about someone hosting a server with my map. Plus http://www.jedioutcastmaps.com/ has it for download.
I'm just going to say this, that version is OLD, its got hardly any item placement, the spawn points are all wrong and its noticably different to the finished version. This version was made available to readers of Massassi forums to download and comment, so I could improve the level. I haven't received one email or comment from any of these people who have it for download so i'm slightly annoyed.
The release version should be available from Massassi soon anyway, so I urge you not to download the old version. Anyways, its not even that good a map.

Hey buddy, take a looky here.
You didn't release it though did you? Nope, you didn't. These people are all wrong. They went into your computer and stole it from you. That's the reason why they have it.

So from my understanding, the version that all these people have is old, yet you have not released the new version. Hrm... Maybe they should go back into your computer and steal the new one too.

Well at the time of your post, the release version had been available for download at massassi for more than half a day.
The point is, an unfinished version of my map was made available to download at jedioutcast maps as a release map, it didn't have my name attached or anything. Since the only place I put the link for the download clearly stated it was a test version, its pretty obvious that the map has passed through several people to get there, otherwise they would know who I am.
I couldn't really care less about people playing my map before its released, but what I care about is the fact that in at least one place and probably more that I'm not aware of there was an unfinished, buggy, error-ridden level of mine that was being put across as finished. I do try to maintain a little bit of pride in my work.
The two sites other than massassi in the above post didn't do anything wrong, they clearly stated that it was an alpha version and that I wanted feedback, they probably helped me get some feedback and for that i'm grateful. But feedback is all that release was made available for.

OK. I see your point now. You didn't make yourself clear earlier in what you wanted and what you were upset about. Sorry about my earlier post and I will talk to the people with the site and they'll take care of the problem.
