View Full Version : Mappers needed for Dark Forces mod

The team doing the Dark Forces mod desperately needs mappers to help with the project. If anyone on the forum here has a) a great love of the original Dark Forces, b) some skills making maps and c) some spare time on their hands get a hold of me with some samples of your work.

We are recreating the entire episode of 14 humongous maps for this mod, so the more mappers we have the sooner it can get done. As you may know the maps in DF were quite extensive, with a multitude of tricks, traps and puzzles in them, all of which would need to be recreated in the JO engines map editor.

The ideal mapper will be able to load the original map in wEdit or similar while mapping in JO-Radiant using the original as a guide. Some of the maps have features that were clearly simplified due to the limited resources of the original DF engine. Those types of areas should be expanded and fleshed out a little more to add to the realism of the level. Some examples are: incredibly blocky and square outdoor terrain areas should be made more jagged and realistic, small base filled with huts and buildings with the exact same height of roof should be varied.
