Obi-Wan and duelling

First of all, I think the Obi-Wan in AotC was one of the best star wars characters ever. But about his lightsaber skills... He never wins a duel!

First he teams up on Maul with Qui-Gon, and barely makes it out alive. Technically, he won the fight, but really it was just Maul's overconfidence that killed him.
Then he fights with Jango Fett. Cool battle and all, but he doesn't really win either. Again, he barely survives. (But then, a lot of Star Wars characters BARELY survive ;) )
After that we get the fight against Dooku, where he just plain loses.

Episode 3 I don't want to discuss yet (although he'll probably defeat Anakin though).

And in Episode 4 he surrenders his life to Vader.

All in all, not the best Jedi swordsman :)

(But a really cool character though!)

I'm hoping he kills dooku to redeem himself in Episdoe 3.

I think Anakin will kill Dooku, since he will need to take his "apprentace" place...I think Obi Wan will fight Anakin and throw him into some sort of lava, where then Anakin will need James's suit :D

On the topic of lightsabers, anyone notice that Sam Jackson's lightsabering skills didn't seem all that amazing during the huge battle? He's an awesome actor, and I think the stunt coordinators shoulda practiced with him more. He didn't look as polished as Ewan McGregor with a lightsaber, deflecting the bolts.

That's right Vehicular Jedi, I had seen some movies where S Jackson was saying how he would finally kick some ass, but I didn't see much of him.
Obviously I saw him kill Jango, but I had expected 'the best Jedi swordsman', and I'm not really that amazed. Dooku was pretty good too, not to mention Yoda.

Maybe if I'll see the movie again, I'll pay more attention to his fighting skills. Yes, that's what I'll do, I'll go see it again.
