View Full Version : Volumetric Shadowing in 1.03 (doesn't look as good)

VS seemed to look a lot better before the patch, that shading was perfectly smooth and the edges looked real clean. Now it look more like they took some dark polygons and pasted them on the characters in the general area where shadows should be. Does anyone know how to improve the VS effect, or how to return it to the way it looked before the patch.

This is the only problem I'm having with the game (and my only gripe about the patch...so far). I've got a GF4 Ti4600 and needless to say, the much needed performance increase has made me very happy :) I now get a good 100fps in most indoor environments and 50fps outdoors. When the action heats up with more than five or six enemies on screen those numbers are cut in half. It's not perfect, but it's a damn sight better than it was and for that I'm gratetful :) Now if I can just get my shadows to look pretty again...
