View Full Version : Extracting MotionCapture-anims... how to?

Is there a way you can extract the motions from the HUMANOID.GLA file? It's the file that holds all the motion-capture-data for humanoid characters in Jedi Outcast.

I need to find a way to import them into 3DSMAX4, to apply them to a CharacterStudio-biped figure. Any ideas? Is there a way to convert them to, say like, BVH files?

The readme-file that comes with the editing-tools talks of SoftImage being needed for creating own animations... can it be used to extract the motions already in the game? We have Softimage at work (though I never used it), but maybe this is a way... ANYONE?

i think you just attach the animations to your model using Carcass or Assimilate (i forget which), when you compile it. unless you're aditing the anims theres no need to load them. or, if ur using max, theres a XSI plugin somewhere, so import root.xsi which i think containt the anims anyway, if your wanting them to get the sizing of your model right. does that make sense?
