If the Jedi take infants to train to be Jedi, why didn't OBI Wan teach Luke since he was an infant? They were hideing on the same planet not to far from each other. Now I know you want to say it's cuz of his father, but he wasn't trained from infancy and look what happened. Just a thought.

well its possible Uncle Owen did not want Luke to be trained as a Jedi and (possibly) follow his father's path. Obi Wan would have respected Luke's guardian's wishes at least until Luke was old enough to decide for himself.

Remember how uncle Owen tells Luke in A New Hope that Kenobi is dead and he also tries to stop Luke from joining the academy? He did that to protect him cos he knew what happened to Anakin.

Kenobi is a recluse, a hermit on Tatooine - he doesn't use his Force abilities because Vader might sense him so he has little contact with anyone/thing! So he's not about to go about and train a Jedi - especially with what happened the last time he took a padawan!
