TF = Team Fortress for those who doesn't know...

Think of the classes...
Rebel Soldier / Stormtrooper
E11 rifles...

Rocket soldiers
Rocket launcher or maybe a mortar...

Medic / equipment man...
support the men with ammo & health...

Engineer...
Build defense structures...

Snipers...
Take them out from far away...

A cool TF game mode would be a Jedi Master Style...
One Jedi Master on both team, and the objective is to kill the other team's master... Dark vs Light... The Rebells vs The Empire...

And with a timed respawn limit it would be even cooler...
=Respawns are timed, let's say every 30 sec, if you die and it's 25 secs left until the respawn, you have to wait that long...

Anyone know if a TF thingie for JK2 is under development?
I would gladly make some maps for it...

TFC sucked abysmally, so much that the only people still playing are the n00bs that got rejected by the 1337 cs players:p

because JK2 and HL use the same engine, just download star wars player models and weapons and remake the CS star wars levels for TFC, morons:p

The Expantion pack for JediKnight 1 (mysteries of the sith) added, class characters to on-line play. I'm wondering what folks think of adding it to JK2.

For those who don't remeber or never played JK:MoTS, here's a quick run down...
Each Class had advantages and disadvantages, including (on some) force defence (dampened the effects of force powers used against the player). Servers were split into "ranked Jedi" (much the same as the way servers work in JK2) and "class Characters" (where you could use your various characters. Jedi class characters all had a rank of Jedi Knight).

Here's a list of the classes and abilities that I can remeber;

:aobi: Jedi: Average speed and health, spawn with lightsaber and light pistol only, can assign force powers

:trooper: Trooper: slower movment, improved health (150 if I remeber right), spawn with stormtrooper rifle thermal detonators and imperial repeater, improved ammo capacity, high force defence.

:speeder: Scout: faster movment, lower health (75, I think), spawn with stormtrooper rilfe sniper scope, level 2 force jump and speed, some force defence.

:fett: Bounty Hunter: Average speed, improved health (125), spawn with carbonite gun (freeze opponents) light pistol and flash bombs, level 1 force jump, medium force defence.

They don't use the same engines.

JKII uses Quake 3 engine, HL uses a highly modified Quake 1 engine. I don't know if the models and skins will work or not, but the game play would not change with new models, it would just look real cool.

And TFC is a good game, CS is a good game too. You may prefer CS but that does not mean TFC is "abysmal" you just don't like it, it is a harder game to play then CS which is probably why you don't like it.

TF is mostly not that fun on public server, but when playing with a clan or group of friends and some tactics are invovled, it's really really fun...

dude ive been playin hl and mods for over 3.5 years...

very rare are true good cs players.. i got the the point where i was doing amazing but then... hax... and no skill is a match for hax...

probly 25% of cs is hax... and rest are newbs...

Dod and Tfc are top mods with little hacks... and Tfc has many newbs... But DoD is great many skillfull players to challange and learn from...

o and hope to see u in the games... im still learning..

PS) Absorbe is not a damn hack like some of the newbs declare

o and TF for jk2 would rock...

like using Duel Of The fates map...

the light master could use 2 sabres and dark sith could use double bladed and there would be 2 or so other guys to help out..

Droid Decars ( or w/e they are) as defense that the engy's could setup...

and At-St.. would reb's get snow speeder or ion cannon to fight bak ?

and could u get on them and get inside to take em over ?

anywho i think the game would take extreamly long to make without direct suppost from game maker

It could take some months to get a first alpha version, but the larger and more put together team it is, the faster it would go...

I'm not that into scripting, but I would gladly make some maps for it... I've done Q1 / HL / UT / MOH:AA (which is the same as JK2)...

So it sounds like there's noone doing something like this yet, but if someone is willing to take the charge of this and get some guys to work on it, I would gladly help as I said before...
I won't take the leader role myself, I'm into starting a swedish site and all now, so I don't want another project I want to _lead_, but a project like this to be _a part of_ is something I want.
