Hey all,

Seeing as there are about 734 anakin sabers around these day's, i've decided to step down from that model and work on something i can (hopefully) get a full crack at. Literally "work about to start" rather than WIP, but hey. Here's the saber i'm going to work on:

Hope u all like it. What i've got so far's looking pretty cool, pics soon.

Cheers,

No, that image is just a reference image - i believe taken from a real saber that was constructed by a fan. It actually comes from a really useful hilt library here (http://members.tripod.com/~MousieDroid/Hilt/Sabers_Library.html).

Thought it might be cool if i gave out some story goodies, so here's the back story of Ottar Doneeta, lifted shamelessly from that same website:

The Twi'lek named Ottar Doneeta is the only surviving member of the Doneeta line, which can be traced as far back as the Jedi Knight Tott Doneeta. Naturally strong in the Force, Ottar and a friend named Kryllon attended Master Skywalker's Jedi Academy to receive Jedi training. During his sessions, Ottar crafted this lightsaber completely from scratch, utilizing his own design. While his skill progressed rapidly, his hunger for power was far too high, and Luke slowed his training. This angered Doneeta, who dropped out of the Academy to seek his own training. After briefly falling to the Dark Side (during shich time he constructed a new lightsaber), Ottar and Kryllon participated in the events leading up to and including the liberation of the planet Meth from the remnants of the Empire. For their heroic acts during thsi conflict, Master Luke bestowed upon them both the rank of Jedi Knight. Ottar continues to use his original lightsaber to defend the Republic and reinstate the Jedi as the guardians of peace and justice.

Simple in design, Ottar's lightsaber makes use of a very unusual handgrup base, which boasts four durasteel spikes and a larger central spike. The rest of the weapon omits any unneccesary details, featuring only a single activator buttton and no clip.
pics soon!

The sabers on that website are largely fan-created. If you look at the 'Source' info at the top of the saber info page, it says: Source: Draconian Conspiracy, RPG Campaign (Jason Sunday)

Check the source to see if it's actually apart of the Star Wars universe.

Whether the sabers are fan created or not... for me, whether a saber is from an "official" book or just from fanfic, it's still SW. If you look at the site with the pictures of my model there's a link to the whole backstory about the character who uses this particular saber - i think it looks cool, and that's good enough for me.

Small update - i've got it ingame now, pics soon - no skin yet tho.
