I made a darker looking skin for the reborn character.

I want to make a custom taunt for the character to use in the mp game.

How would i set up to use that certain wav file as the taunt?

First, you need to convert it to a .mp3

The easiest way to build a .pk3 structure, in my opinion, is to use this Bot Editor tool. I can't find a download link right now, but I originally got it from JKII.net. You can ask it to set up all your directory structures for the model as well as custom sounds.

Basically what you need is a sounds.cfg in your skin folder (Models/players/Skinname) that contains the following:


where SkinName is whatever your skin is named, and m is male. For female, of course, just put f. This is basically to tell it that if it doesn't find the other sounds, which MP Default sounds to use, Male or Female.

In your pk3 file, you'll have the following folders:

In the Misc folder, you would put the taunt.mp3 (and any other custom sounds you want to include.

Hope this helps clear it up. If not, a better way to figure it all out might be to download a skin that includes a custom taunt and look at the way it was built.

For the skinname parameter.. can it be the custom folder I created for my skin 'bob' for an example or does it have to be the folder of the edited skin.. say 'kyle'?

Whatever you want for the skinname folder. The name of your skin. If you leave the folder as kyle, for example, it'll override Kyle's stuff, and you don't want that unless you're doing an SP player conversion.
