Ok, just curious, when KOTOR is released who is going to purchase the XBOX version and who is going to wait for the PC version?

I'll buy it imīmediately..to keep you informed of course...;)

and I think I'll also get the pc version, if there are some differences...

I'll probably find someone with a xbox and play there's untill I can buy it for the pc.

Hannibal

Yeah you should add both to that poll. I'll get the XBOX version. But I'll also get the PC. I imagine the community for the PC version will be big and there should be a lot of third party add-ons.

I'm getting it for my Xbox because my Xbox is more powerful than my computer, or just about on par I guess.

Xbox
733mhz Mobile Celeron
64mb ram
Geforce 3 esque graphics card

PC
700mhz P3
384mb ram
ATI All In Wonder Radeon 8500DV

Besides, if this game takes 40-60 hours to beat, I'd be much more comfortable playing it in my room, playing it on a television, than sitting in this uncomfotable chair that squeaks all the time. And with the Xbox Live thing, you could probably download updates and third party things for the Xbox version as well as the PC one.

Didn't think of adding BOTH as a choice(smacks self in the head:p ). So far it's not as uneven as i would have thought, I think I'll wind up getting both also.

If that's your pc, your xbox is a hell of a lot faster....

I'm going to wait for the PC version. They are planning on implementing multi-player so you and your buddies can play the game together. But if they don't get it done for the X-box version in time they still might be able to get it for the PC version.

PC for me. I'm not really a console person...although if my arm gets twisted enough by my eldest son this coming Christmas... Nah...

lol, from what i understand its an RPG.... i would doubt Star Wars KotOR would have Multi-Player, although it would be nice... but Star Wars Galaxie: Dividing Line will.

PC definatly!
firstly cus my PC is more powerful than any console
secondly cus moniters are a whole lot nicer than TVs
thirdly cus PCs r simplly the best
forthly PCs have the best method of control nothing beats keyboard and mouse

But what you don't get on a PC is comfort and a large tv to look at rather than a 17 or 19 inch monitor.

Also, aside from the comfort of your couch, many people such as my self have large screen HDTV's, which gives an excellent picture.
And I'd rather use a controller. :D

Old_Ben

You'd rather use a controller? Personally I thinks it's easier to use a keyboard with all it's keys for and RPG.

I heard it'll look better on the PC than on the XBox. That's if you have the hardware capabilities.

The Xbox is a powerful system, and just because a PC can be better doesn't mean mine is. Sheesh.

I duno about PC looking better...than xbox yet i dont want to judge xbox either. But after seeing DOA3 anything can happen. But i wll get it on XBOX because its main function is to play games so a console will always be better in my opinion.

Well let's see, the XBOX specs are as follows:

CPU: 733 MHz chip crafted by Intel

Graphics Processor: 250MHz custom chip named XGPU, developed by Microsoft and nVIDIA

Memory Bandwidth: 6.4 GB/sec

Polygon Performance: 125 M/sec

Sustained Polygon Performance: 100+ M/sec (transformed and lit polygons per second)

Micropolygons/particles per second: 125 M/sec

Particle Performance: 125 M/sec

Simultaneous Textures: 4

Pixel Fill Rate - 1 Texture: 4.0 G/Sec (anti-aliased)

Compressed Textures: Yes (6:1)

Full Scene Anti-Alias: Yes

Micro Polygon Support: Yes

Storage Medium: 2-5x DVD, 10GB hard disk, 8MB memory card

I/0: 2-5x DVD, 10GB hard disk, 8MB memory card

3D Audio Support: Yes

MIDI DLS2 Support: Yes

Controller Ports: 4 USB Ports

My Computer at the moment :

Pentium III 601 Mhz processor(that is the way my computer reads it. Strange).

512MB SD RAM

NVIDIA GeForce 2MMX 64MB Video Card

Creative Labs Soundblaster Live Value 5.1 Sound Card.

40 GB Hard Drive

2 USB Ports

Fastlink Ethernet Adapter

DVD-ROM

CD-RW

So, it looks like overall my system is beneath the XBOX in terms of performance. The XBOX video card is a GeForce 3.

However, my Jedi Master system will be built this fall.:D

Com Raven

the xbox gpu is faster than a GeForce 3, and is somewhere between it and a GeForce 4...

plus, the fact that the xbox has an integrated driver/direct x system make it MUCH faster than any pc with much higher specs...

why ? because pcs have to be compatible with millions of possible components...

the pc's gpu talks though the driver with direct x, whcih contacts the game....

much slower...

Interesting. Plus, you don't get crashes with console games.;)

Com Raven

don't say that....

my ps2 had quite some crashes...

at least on the old tv, seems solved now...

Norin Radd
07-09-2002, 03:26 PM
Really?

You probably got a PS2 when it was first released. Many of the first 200,000 or so had some problems with crashing and overheating. They had solved these problems by the time the second shipment of consoles left the factory. The only problem I ever had with mine was a PS1 game, Metal Gear Solid locked up on me once. No other problems. No crashes or anything.

I too have a HDTV as well as a first class home theatre system with Dolby Digital encoding. Because of these feature my Xbox Far out weights my PC. The Xbox has been nothing short of pure gaming pleasure. THis system is finially going to make huge strides this Fall and KOTOR will be leading the way!
