View Full Version : To the people who say "quit whining" etc.

What happened if people didn't complain about things?

Nothing.

Personally I think the more people bitch the more likely Raven will do something about it. If you guys don't like reading people's comments about 1.03 then why are you reading it?

Another question to the people who say "It's just a game!!"
If it really is just a game to you then why are you on a forum to talk about the game, and why are you taking the time out of your day to post about it? Do you guys just want Raven to chalk this up as another successful business venture and forget they ever made the game, or would you rather they continue working on it and improving it until we are satisfied?

If you guys want the game to improve and you can come up with a better way to discuss what is wrong with the game and getting ideas to Raven then that would be awesome, but I really doubt you can.

So what's the point to this post/thread? If you are going to post something like "it's just a game stop whining" don't bother, because you are just hampering our ability to fix a game that represents, for some of us, our favorite fictional universe.

Oh, so now we are discussing people that don't want people to whine, and therefore whine themselves. Great, we have found a new dimesion on how to waste time I see.

I'll skip the topic for the galactically insane...

You are missing the point entirely, this is to save me time in the future so that hopefully some people will read it and say "oh yeah" and maybe save me from reading 5 or 6 posts of "it's just a game, get over it" for me that would be worth the time it took to write this out, and I was just pointing out to people that saying those things isn't helping the game get any better.

I agree with you on some points. It IS just a game. There does need to be feedback or else there will never be a patch. So feedback is necessary to improve the game. Do the feedback in the...........Feedback forum.

Oh yes, your opinion will be valued. Just as mine or anyone's who doesn't have any real power. The only opinion valuated around here is those of the mods/admins, however they deserve it because they had to achieve that place. What did you do to deserve my respect of your opinion? Sounds egoistic, but question yourself, and you'll see its true.

Basically it all boils down to that. And since everyone lately wants to do this sort of thing lately, this is just a thread in line...

And about your content of the message, that one has been repeated times and times again. It is one of the oldest discussions since the start of the gaming community.

After all, a forum is made for discussing and people have different opinions. If you want to express your opinion by "whining" it's ok by me, say you hate the v1.03, I have no problem with it.
The only thing I don't like, is those who say "it sux" and never gives an example of exactly what is sucking.

There is a difference between

a) constructive criticism

b) Bitching, as in "Th!Z game Suxx0rZ! Fix iT!!11!!"

Nobody complains about a)

And if someone is thinking about replying to ThirdGenRX7 and pointing out that he is actually whining about whiners I will (I swear to god!) kiiiiiill that smart-ass IRL!

I hate that comment. Hate it.

I udnerstand your post saying that a game requires feed back and criticism, but....I believe that people should learn the game better before complaining...or else a 1.03 may occur. Let's face it, was there ANYONE that was COMPLETELY happy with 1.03? Some loved 1.03, but hated backstab. Some hated 1.03, and loved backstab. Some were indifferent between 1.03 and 1.02, and could go either way. There are NONE that are COMPLETELY UTTERLY happy with 1.03 (sorry for those who are...just haven't seen ya on these boards..for a good reason I guess..lol) Atleast in 1.02, there was a large community who thought it was good. And most complaints were not about a move being too strong (these only came from people who could not defend against DFA) but rather the BUGS taht were involved with that move. But the people who came here were the complainers, who decided not to take time to go in depth with the game..whether they thought it was boring, or they just did not like to lose. Raven heard this, catered to them, and now 1.03 has come out, with more imbalances (in my opinion..). I guess what I'm trying to say is that yes, criticism can make the game good, and that's why people should do it. But then again, it could also make it go the other way and go bad...which would be unfortunate.

I value anyone's opinion who backs it up w/ reasons and some sort of logic that I can follow. What did I do to deserve your respect? I made a good argument about how simply posting "stop whining" doesn't help anything. If anybody is actually going to post something like that they obviously don't understand what I talked about in my first post. And on mods/admins, just because someone has authority doesn't mean that they are right or deserve respect. Is it egotistic? maybe, I just want somebody to try and prove me wrong.

You don't get it. There is no right or wrong. The topic is solely based on opinion. That is why admins/mods will always win when it comes to opinions because the buttsuckers always like to side with someone who has power. Since you don't have any power I or most of others couldn't care less about the outcome of the argument. It simply doesn't matter. And as I said, the topic was discussed time and time again, and it happened the first three times when people cared, and then just stopped caring. The topic is old, told, re-told and told again. Let go, it's over.

The person I see wasting the most time here is you, Kal-El. It makes me think that you must have sucked royal ass in 1.02.

As for the original poster; the best hope right now is that Raven never releases a 1.04 so we only have to deal with 1.02 and 1.03 players. There are plenty of 1.02 servers for you to play on and enjoy the game without the noob protection blocking scheme. Come join us.

I see your point, but even with crappy criticism people will jump in and point out the flaws with the original complaint. I guess that in the end it's up to raven to sort through all the crap and decide who is making an intelligent argument and who is just complaining because they got whored by somebody better than they are.... and apparently Raven is doing a really bad job of that.

I think that you are the dumbest person checking the board this moment. But then again, who gives a damn about what I think heh.

I or most of others couldn't care less about the outcome of the argument.

If you don't care about this argument then why don't you step down off your soap box and shut your trap. If you don't care about a thread then why do you bother to post in it? Get a life dude. What? You post all day long, a million little posts bashing everyone that you can. Why would anyone start a thread, so some pre-pubestent punk can insult them?

I don't give a rats ass about this argument either but I really can't stand your self rightous bull****. People like you are a dime a dozen especally on this form. Spoiled little teenage geeks who think they are hot stuff with their wise-ass cracks render this forum useless for intelligent discussions.

Why can't people post their views, options and idea's without these deliquients trying to step on them. Hey, he said his peace and he stated reasons for his view and he didn't personally insult anyone so why the hostile response?

Here are some guidelines to follow in the future:

a) I don't care so I won't post and the thread will disapear
b) I care and I agree so I may or may not post to add something or bump the thread
c) I disagree and if I decide to post I'll state my argument and/or list the reasons why I disagree.

WTF is that so hard for people to figure out???

What happened if people didn't complain about things?
Nothing.
And what happens when people complain like children?
Nothing.
Raven and all developers simply skip over any complaint that acts childish or destructive. It isn't worth their time to read. What IS worth their time to read are mature and constructive criticisms.
And that's the only kind of complaint they bother reading. Other kinds of complaints just serve to annoy everyone.

Go to ANY Creature Isle forum and you'll see pure whinig.

For those that don't know...

CI is the expansion pack for Black & White. Basicly it added about 6 hours of game play, little repayability, Buggy to hell, a bug that screwd over 1 month of play, horrible multiplayer, and NO patch. After about a month of that game I wanted to shoot myself in the head everytime I visited the forum.

The point is its ok to post problems with the game, but if everybody and their dog have draged the topic through the ground it gets a little stale. How many topics do we need on backstabing? Also don't just write something off as horrible. Just becuase it new doesnt mean you have to hate it.

a) constructive criticism

Nobody complains about a)

What's sad is that this thread basically started as A, and people *cough cough* Kal-El *cough cough* complained.

He's making a point, and yes--it's an old point, but it hasn't been brought up lately, and there have been an awful lot of 'whine about the whiners' threads lately, and the constructive and intelligent things he said needed to be said.

Lay off.
