View Full Version : The Cantina Six: Return of the Dead Guy

06-09-2002, 05:44 PM
You all know the rules, new players welcome, yadda yadda.

Last time on "The Cantina": "Deac! NOOOO! Muhahaha! I'm Cracken Reborn and you all will die!" "Deac Starkiller! I need your help!"

*A cowled figure sits in the cantina, sipping a Terkiom Electrode, a drink that would normally give humans horrible electric shocks. He notices the gargoyle enter.*

Scanning Memory: Subject-Termand Rwos-my...my friend.

The Deac Starkiller you will remember is gone....

*The figure removes his cowl. A scarred, cybernetics covered section is shown, but the rest of the face has been reconstructed with synthflesh. It is unmistakably-

Deac Starkiller* [Bet you saw this coming, huh?]

Rwos...I'm sorry you thought I was dead. But I was recovered by scavengers after the battle, and taken to a cybernetic reconstruction lab. Then I came here. I heard the news, but it's not all bad.
I can still use the force.

06-09-2002, 06:23 PM
*Deac notices that Rwos' face is set, not responding to him. Then he notices that the rest of the people in Cantina do not notice Rwos either. Then Rwos looks directly at him....and shakes his head. He moves his lips, but Deac can't hear the words; Now I'm hallucinating.

Rwos turns and walks directly through several of the other bar's patrons to a corner of the cantina. He raises his hand and telekinetically picks up a device he had attached to the wall of the Cantina long ago. With a wave, he moves the device towards himself. It flashes blue and becomes intangible as it approaches Rwos' body, as if passing through a field. Rwos catches the device and attaches it to his belt, next to his teleporter. He mouths more words. That's the last of the markers...and the last time I visit this place for all time. Now I have only one thing left to do before I leave this dimension...vengeance.

Rwos walks out of the Cantina, still oblivious to Deac's voice. He passes through several more oblivious people on his way out. He does not look back.

Someone else grabs Deac's arm.*

Deac Starkiller! I've been waiting for you! Wait...are you Deac Starkiller?

*Rwos is now long gone*

((OOS: I want Rwos to go after Cracken for the time being...and my new character, Starr Hailfire, needs your help, Deac and other Cantina-ers! Don't worry, all shall come together in the end ;)

EDIT: You can see Rwos because you're a cyborg I presume. He's phased out with his teleporter like in the ending of the Cantina 4

Re-Edit: Can I invite some people from other forums to join the Cantina? I think it might make things more interesting. :)

The rules are:

You pick a character, state your name, race, occupation, and what you are carrying. (Up to 10 items) Old players don't need to post character data (unless asked for, I guess?). Remember to state who you're replying to. Try to keep in character.
No killing other players in just one post. If you have a dispute with a player here, take it somewhere else!

Note: These are the original Cantina rules, modified due to thread evolution. :D

*Flax' etheral vissage apears.*

Flax: Deac I hope you still have my saber!

*Flax extends a hand, a bolt of white lightening shoots out of Deac's chest*

*The bolt enters Flax, and he promtly dissapears.*

(OOS: Can you gues whats coming next?)

06-09-2002, 08:51 PM
*Flax calmly walks into the bar, he goes up to the bar.*

Flax: Lomin Ale!

*Flax collects his drink and sits down next to Deac*

Flax: So kid, can I have my saber back?

Starr Hailfire, reformed mercernary, Force adept. Human. Carrying a blaster rifle, ammo, customized datapad and comlink, crimson lightsaber, miniature Hailfire missile launcher, and a few other tools of the merc trade. Has come to seek out the great Deac Starkiller, genetically engineered Jedi, for guidance, training, and help on an as yet undisclosed mission...

((OOS: Umm, Battledog? Did you intend to delete one of those posts? *puzzled*))

06-09-2002, 10:18 PM
Seeing Deac and this unkown person. Odin walks over and sits down and in an urgent tone of voice says. "God Deac you look like hell, anyways I need you to come with me. If the new person wants to come along that is fine, but we need to go now"

06-10-2002, 02:58 AM
(A snippet of conversation raises it's volume level loud enough to be heard by the patrons sitting at the table. Two old drunks are sitting around talking about someone new...)

Drunk 1: So, who's the new guy? He looks like hot stuff. But who knows with kids these ::hiccup:: days? At least his ship is nice.

Drunk 2: Yeppers. I hear his name is somethin' like Watani... no, Lakadi... no... uh... umm...

#1: Oh wait! (He has to pause, as he rebalances himself on the bar stool) I've heard of this kid. His name is Chass, he said, misprounouncing the first syllable of his last name to sound like "Chase" instead of the correct "Case." Katani Chass.

#2: No. That can't be it. (Sits at the bar puzzling to himself over what the name of this enigmatic person could be, oblivious that the correct one had already been given.)

#1: (Now standing, walking over to Chass. As he does, he starts talking to the rest of the customers at the bar, telling the story he'd heard about this youngster.) Katani Chass comes from Kuat. But, dissatisfied with the life of men on Kuat, he left. Since then he's been on the run from Kuati officials for the alleged robbery of over 90 million credits in hard currency and jewels from a distinguished Kuati family. Obviously this must be why he wears such an obvious disguise! (With this he reaches Chass and pulls off the wig of long blonde hair Katani wears, revealing the short cropped black that is natural to the young man.) Now, said the drunk, rumor has it that this man is very dangerous. He has hopped from system to system, looking for a way to exact venegance on the Kuati nobles and everyone in the galaxy who has ever told bad jokes. Unfortunately for Katani, he doesn't have the power of the Force to guide him, or any fancy muscles or anything else, although rumor has it he'll give you hell in a starfighter. All he carries is the body armor he wears and a rather unique weapon: the CoRonal Electroincendiary Device, or CRED for short. Perhaps you'd care to give us a demonstration of this great weapon Mr. Chass?

Katani: Sure. (With that he reaches under his coat, pulling out a weapon of similar shape and size to that of a blaster rifle, though far more concealable. He quickly snaps gun up to aim at the ceiling, then slowly lowers it to point straight at the drunk's chest. The drunk must have been more drunk than Katani thought, he never even moved. Slowly, almost melodramatically, he pulls the trigger. When it reaches the firing point, flash emits from the muzzle, and the drunk is thrown back about ten feet into a table. What is more shocking though, is the transformation that the drunk undergoes as he flies that short distance. In the half second it took him to get from one point to another, all of his skin melted, all small pieces of flesh (eyes, nose, fingers, ears) burned to a crisp and his internal organs exploded, leaving blood to pour from his bodily orifices, which quickly turned to a red steam upon leaving the body. All in all, a rather grisly death.) So, Katani continues, like the man said, I'm looking for revenge. And the only person I can think of who can take on the Kuati nobles, outside of Darth Vader, and I'm pretty sure he's already dead, is Deac Starkiller...

06-10-2002, 08:22 AM
*Starr leaps up from beside Deac Starkiller*

*to Katani* Hey! You just killed that man! *ignites his crimson lightsaber* You can't do that!

06-10-2002, 03:28 PM
*Ignites his silver saber across Starr's throught.*

Flax: Easy there friend. Lesson one, Jedi don't kill neadlessly.

*Flax brings his saber down across Katani's weopon. He slices the first third of the muzzle off, rendeering the weopon useless.*

06-10-2002, 04:21 PM
Rwos is leaving...damn...my friend...gone...but I know it's not because of me. It's all that damned Cracken's fault.

Hey man...we don't kill needlessly here. *Clicks head, removing synthflesh shroud* [Deac is not fully borged, just some machinery in place of destroyed tissue and a few chips. The synthflesh covers almost all of the machinery on his exterior]

Why did you do that? I'm not in the mood for this right now, my friend just went after a real nasty guy and I intend to follow him. Anyone who wants to fry Warlord Cracken is welcome to follow!

Cmdr. Cracken
06-10-2002, 04:54 PM
*Deep in the heart of space, somewhere beyond the Outer Rim, a massive group of star ships could be seen. Upon closer, inspection, it's a grand Imperial Fleet... the entire Remnant fleet and then some. Some being a Super Star Destroyer, the Titan, and her escorts, it was much like the old days of grand Imperial might.

The time was now.
Tojo walked up to the command chair on the Titan , Cracken sitting in it*
Tojo: My lord, the fleet is assembled, our destination?
Cracken: Mon Calimari.
Tojo: yes, my lord.

*The fleet entred hyperspace. hours later, it appeared over Mon Calimari, destroying all resistance. the first Imperial strong hold. The Battle for Mon Calimari was short, the Calimari people and thier ship yards were no match for the fury of the TIE Defenders and the new TIE Vultures. Over the course of a few days, the Calimari ship yards were converted to produce Star Destroyers, and a new Super Star Destroyer was started, the Vengence.

Cracken smiled. he would retake every inch of this Galaxy, or destroy it...
Leaving a sizeable defense force behind, he began what his father requested. His grand tour of the galaxy, spreading his grand fleet to subjugate and control. His armies landed, taking cities and planets in thier wake. Kessel, Nal Hutta, All across the Outer Rim, planets one by one fell to the Imperial Armed Forces. The last planet to fall was Tatooine. Imperial troops landing, Closing on teh Cantina in Mos Eisly.
Cracken, in orbit over the planet, waved to Tojo. he noded, and gave the helm instructions. Head Core Ward.
The fleet again, entered hyperspace. The Shadow of the Empire once again fell over the Galaxy. AT Corellia, CorSec scrambled what defenses they had, but it wasn't enough. The Imperial Fleet was too large. Corellia surrendured, two cities bombed, and thier Security force all but gone.*

06-11-2002, 02:23 AM
((OOS: This is sort of a prologue…what happened between the two Cantina threads))

Cracken's brutal and lightning offense took the Republic off guard. Within days, Mon Calamari was taken. Swiftly afterwards, Nal Hutta and Kessel were struck while the New Republic's fleet was still mobilizing. Now, just as the fleet is finally ready to take on Cracken, he has boldy appeared right in their presence and brought the entire force of the newfound Imperial might down on unsuspecting Corellia. That planet has fallen as well, the Republic's fleet is barely ready, …and the Empire is back under a Dark Lord of the Sith.

Termand Rwos, believing Deac Starkiller to be dead, killed by his own friends thanks to the Sith Lord Cracken, has bitterly done nothing but watch as the New Republic falls. He has collected all things he has left in this dimension as a way of severing his ties. As his last action before leaving forever, he wants only one thing; to kill Grand Admiral Cracken.

While all this has been going on, Deac Starkiller has been being reconstructed into a cyborg on Tatooine. Even as these events are taking place, Corellia has just fallen.

*Rwos enters hyperspace outside Tatooine. Destination: Corellia.*

Time to pay, Cracken.

Around the cantina, as Katani's CRED was sliced apart and rendered uselsess, cloaked heads begin to look up. The commotion is more than enough to draw the attention of everyone in the bar, yet this group of beings all look extremely similar. Their steely grey skin, their protruding jaws. Hailfire gets it first.

Starr Hailfire: Those are Noghri...

Chass: Well, I see I can't get anything by you, now can I? Yes, that's right. You see, that little introduction that was just given was for the sole purpose of distracting everyone so that these friends of mine could get into place.

It becomes obvious now, as the Noghri shake off their cloaks, that there are more than the group in the middle can deal with. Twelve of them are arranged in a loose circle, and from the number of guns poking through aiming holes, there were at least five more behind closed doors.

Katani: You must understand, Deac Starkiller, that you are a wanted man. Your exploits are famous throughout the galaxy, and into places beyond, and many people want you dead. Including the ruling nobles of Kuat. This "person" that I just fried was really a droid...well mostly. He did have some living parts to him, so I guess you'd call him a cyborg. But he'll never be missed. He was hardly even sentient, just made to look so. So, unless your friends believe they alone can take on the significant number of Noghri here, as well as the fleet in orbit, I 'd suggest you surrender. You, I must bring back alive, but your friends won't be so fortunate should they resist.

The question hung silent in the air for a moment, as everyone awaited Deac's answer.

06-11-2002, 04:37 PM
Look, you scum sucking filth, I want to help the Republic, and I'm not going to get some OTHER power hungry noble get in my way. Besides you don't want a clan war with

*Shows crest* House Starkiller of Atredis, formally House Talon.

Now, everybody, we're leaving. I've heard the Republic needs help.

*The noghri attempt to block Deac's escape by throwing a dagger in his back. Deac withdraws it and sighs*

Your butcher blades do nothing to cold adamantium , so I advise you to leave if you don't want to help.

06-11-2002, 06:45 PM
*Flax raises the Noghri off the ground, he contricts their wind pipes just enough to prevent them from putting up a fight.*

*As the crew leave Flax lets the Noghri drop, none too gently.*

Cmdr. Cracken
06-11-2002, 10:12 PM
*In a breifing room aboard the Titan, which was now stiull in orbit over Corellia, Cracken's Admiral Tojo was briefing him on the current military action and successes.*
Tojo: Most of the old sectors have been re-established, with the refugee Imperial Govoners back into power. The Moff system is re-established as well, as old Imperial Alliances are coming back into our fold, with our recent sucess.

Cracken: and the Outer Rim?

Tojo: just a few outlier star systems are still not under Imperial control...*Tojo dimmed the lights, and a map of teh galaxy appeared* Sernpidal, Almania, Endor, and Helska are still under Republic flags, however, battle groups are en route to restore the Empire there. Inner Rim, Bilbringi has sworn alligence to our side. they have started producing fighters, as well as our Star Destroyer Class warships. My lord, the Empire is fully entrenched in the Galaxy. The Repub...

Cracken: what word from Kuat?

Tojo: they... um.. haven't responded, my lord.

Cracken: then that is our destination. Make ready your fleet, Admiral.

Tojo: yes, my lord.
*Tojo walks out to make preparations. Cracken stayed inside the briefing room, stareing at the galactic map. His fathers Holocron said that any action taken against the Republic would result in Kuat's uptmost support in the cause. Troubling. but no longer a problem. Kuat would join his cause. Or be eliminated.*

06-11-2002, 10:49 PM
*Starr waves his unfolded missile launcher threateningly at the stunned noghri on his way out, then turns his attention back to Deac*

So you are the great Deac Starkiller! I bet you see things like this every day, don't you? I know you can help me now...and I certainly need help. You know the guy leading the Imperials right now? His name is Cracken, and he's a Sith lord...the Sith lord who brutally murdered my family... *Starr pauses with emotion* My parents had the gifts of the Jedi...the same gifts I inherited. They tried to stop Cracken, when I was just a baby. They fought, and Cracken won... When I grew up, I came back to my homeworld, to find my parents...still unburied...and holos left showing their deaths...*Starr appears to be fighting tears, then his expression turns to anger* I swore that I would destroy him. I learned as much as I could of the Jedi arts from my father's journal. I even built my own lightsaber. But I'm not powerful enough to confront Cracken. And lately, I've been getting visions of the Sith himself...taunting me...

06-12-2002, 04:05 PM
[To Wuher] You can charge House Starkiller for this...

*Deac uses the force in a way never done before. He raises the floor around the Kuati to create a barred cell. The noghri rush to help their master, but it will take time to break him out.*

Let's be off party. Docking bay 82.

06-12-2002, 04:57 PM
*Flax frowns*

Flax: Revenge isn't a motive for a Jedi, I won't train you till you are willing to let go of the vengance.

*Flax nudges Deac.*

06-12-2002, 10:00 PM
My motive isn't vengeance! I just want to be left alone! Who are you, anyway? *to Flax*

*Across the galaxy, Termand Rwos' fighter comes out of hyperspace in Corellian space. The Imperial fleet is dead ahead, moving to make the jump to beyond lightspeed.*

06-13-2002, 03:47 AM
After breaking out of his makeshift cell, Katani broods at the bar. He realizes that Starkiller is far gone by now. When one of the Noghri questions whether he should follow Deac's party, Chass simply replies to the negative. Though the Noghri could catch them, he doubted they'd be able to take the whole lot of them. He'd underestimated someone's ablilities again. But now he swore that this would be the last time.

Chass: Team one; we're going to the ship. He takes out a comlink Rakkhran, prep for take off. He says, obviously talking to the ship

Somewhere in deep space, the entire protective fleet of Kuat, along with over three-quarters of it's civilians, all safe in their military transports, wait for the return of their leader, Katani Chass. They have abandoned Kuat not out of fear or cowardice, but because they simply didn't want to be there when the shooting started. You see, they had an ace up their sleeves.

Cracken's military fleet entered the Kuat system in a standard formation; a few lighter capital ships out front, with the main bulk safely behind. They are surprised though, when they find the planet to be all but deserted. In fact, the only thing giving life-form readings was a small, cyndrillical ship in the center of the ship yards, pointing in their direction.

The Last Chance was crewed by a few brave volunteers off of Kuat, no one had been forced to stay. Even though every Kuati from top of the ladder to bottom of the hierarchy thought this would work, the technology was still experimental. The fleet had arrived though, and systems were primed. There was no turning back now.

It started out small. What seemed to be a spark, even under distance magnification of the highest magnitude grew into a full-fleged cone of blazing white fire in a few seconds.

The Carrack-class Cruiser Spearhead was the first ship into a system when it accompanied the main Imperial task force. Though a dangerous position, the crew took pride in their position, and as a result had become a crack scout unit, able to pinpoint gaps and weakpoints in enemy defenses in seconds. This time had been no different. Well, except for the fact that the enemy seemed to have no defenses, save for that single ship left in the middle of the ship yards. The crew looked on curiously as the cone of fire grew toward them, and finally began to engulf their ship.

A wave of fire, looking for the world like some star gone nova in only one direction washed over the Spearhead, washing over all it's surfaces, covering every nook and cranny. Then, it was passed. And nothing seemed to have happened. The ship didn't even have any burn marks on it. It appeared the Last Chance had failed.

(Aboard the Last Chance )

The captain looks fervently around, checking his status monitors, even though he knows the radiation from the blast won't make anything remotely reliable for another fifteen seconds or so. Just then, a lieutenant called him over, to look a screen he'd just hacked to display images from the security cameras of the Spearhead. The Captain couldn't believe his eyes. Each camera switched views every ten or so seconds, which was good because that's all one could stand to look at any one of these images. Inside every room of the Spearhead, pasted to every floor, was at least one body. Their skin had been charred, their eyes, ears and hair burnt to a crisp, and on each, some part of their skin had split, to let spill out the roasting organs inside.

Katani Chass exited hyperspace about ten kilometers from the Kuati fleet moving at a signifcant fraction of the speed of light. He immediately recieved a hailing from the command ship Spirit of Kuat.

"Sir, this is Major Lee Taurin. We've just recieved word from the Last Chance. They say 'Mission accomplished.'

06-13-2002, 06:16 PM
Flax: *Extends hand* General Taklin Flax, Jedi Master, pilot and Sith Exterminator.

06-13-2002, 11:20 PM
Starr: *shakes Flax's hand* Starr Hailfire, Jedi adept. Former mercernary. You name it, I can blow it up. Unless it's got people...I don't like to kill. I'm looking for someone to train me in the ways of the Jedi...all I know has come from my father's old books.

*to Deac* Hey, I knew your friend Termand Rwos once...whatever happened to him?

Cmdr. Cracken
06-15-2002, 02:55 AM
*Cracken watches as his fleet is being dismantled by the Kuat Defense Corps new weapon. His anger boiled*

Cracken: TOJO, Enter Hyperspace IMMEDIATLY to Coruscant.

Tojo: My lord, it's too early, we cannot retri...

Cracken: The Force will aid us. My Fathers project will be operational, and in our hands, the KUAT will pay DEARLY for thier treason!

*Tojo, now fearing for his life, nodded at the helm. The Mighty Imperial fleet now move to exit vector, and left the system.

Coruscant. Space lanes were crowded today, as the Republic was providing security check points. The latest Imperial Surgence gave alot of people reason to conduct anti-republic terrorist activities on the Capital world. However, they were not ready for this.
Near the third moon of Coruscant, the Imperial fleet exited hyperspace, in a defensive array. The massive starships went into a sphere formation around the moon, as if something dear was on it.*
*Cracken tapped a panel on his command chair aboard the Titan, and spoke*
Cracken: Engage protocal 9714, confirmation, Crimson Star.
*The Massive Super Star Destroyer engaged it's engines, it's helm paniked. they didn't touch the controls! They look at thier lord, only to be shocked as they saw him smile.
A collision course had been set for the moon.... just when it looked as it was going to crash, the moon surface... moved. Like a giant docking bay. It opended up, and swallowed teh Super Star Destroyer, then closed.

An un manned station aboard the bridge suddenly sprung to life, and a team of scientist suddenly were on the bridge, and rushed to it. They looked at Cracken*

Hojo: My Lord, teh Crimson Star is in perfect condition. Engage the Magnetic fields, and the anti-matter generator?

*Cracken nodded, and Hojo pressed the control panel.
Suddenly, teh entire ship shook for a second, as the power magnetic generators kicked in. the lights flickered, then resumed. Outside, lights begain to flciker on, and a massive Generator could be seen. The Crimson Star's Anti-matter generator, it's magnetic field generator, and the power core. The combined mass filled the empty armored shell. the crew was amazed.

From teh outside, the Entire moon surface changed. it's largest crater recesed, and moved revealing a large cannon device. the anti matter launcher. More craters moved, revealing turbolaster, laser, and missle launchers. Three craters moved, revealing mobile tracking Superlasers. Suddenly, the moon began to turn! It rotated on it's axis, and came to bear on the Second Moon of Coruscant. It's Anti-Matter cannon flickered, then fired a deadly missile, no larger than a pen, at the moon.

Silence, the entire planet held thier breath.

A flash of light, so bright the entire planet was enguled in white. when the white cleared, the moon was gone. Across the moon side face of the planet, a massive shockwave could bee seen heading toward the planet. People panicked, running for thier homes, hoping for protection in thier feeble city. The shcok wave hit the upper shields, resounding a large boom, which destroyed several windows. it broke through, hitting the Lower shield, only to be dissapated. Coruscant's shields were out.
The Army scrambled for an invasion, but it never came. The Crimson Star, it's fleet, entered hyperspace.*

*Kuat. The kuati's were reveling in thier victory, when suddenly, a massive contact was seen on thier scopes. They saw teh Crimson Star for the first time. Panic set in, as they saw that a superlaser was pointed in thier direction.
A green laser eminated from the moon, destroying the Last Chance.
It tured it's Anti-matter cannon on the largest Moon colony of Kuat, and fired. Just like Coruscant, the moon dentonated in a briliant white flash, and the resulting shockwave actually struck the planet, cutting through several cities, leveling them. clouds of smoke and dirt could be seen from where the shockwave hit. the death toll was catastrophic. The cannon again, fired, this time directly at the planet, heading straight for Kuat's capital city. it hit. only the planet destroying blast was not created. a smaller detonation, destroying teh Kuati capital building, along with 7 blocks of city.

Kuat surrendured. The Empire had thier shipyards back.*

06-16-2002, 08:29 AM
((OOS: Some of you will have to repost, some of the posts were lost in the merge))

*Deac seems to be lost in thought. Starr pokes him*

Starr: Where is Termand Rwos at the moment? I was so hoping to see him again...

*Termand Rwos' fighter exited hyperspace in Kuat space, cloaking field activated, as the superweapon Crimson Star fired on the Last Chance. The blinding green beam of light annihilated the ship almost casually. Then the...moon's largest cannon rotated to bear on the colony moon behind the burning rubble of the Last Chance. Rwos' sensors registered a minitaure projectile loaded with only two grams of antimatter fired from the cannon and smash into the moon. The moon detonated in a blinding flash of light, and Rwos sensors showed the shockwave hit Kuat's surface. It actually forced the atmosphere out of the way in it's path, and screams erupted in Rwos' open comlink as the shockwave must have hit the ground. In horror, Rwos snapped his comlink off, even as the Crimson Star rotated it's cannon and snapped off a much smaller dose of antimatter at Kuat itself.*

Only enough to take out a few blocks...Sithspit. I don't believe it. The superweapon is real...and ultimate power is in the hands of a Dark Lord of the Sith. The same scum who killed Deac Starkiller...

*Rwos reactivated his fighter's drive system, and flew invisibly towards the flying moon overshadowing the Imperial fleet.*

Cmdr. Cracken
06-16-2002, 12:14 PM
*Cracken was on the bridge of the Titan, which was nestled inside the large super weapon. The Crimson Star worked perfectly. Kuat's surrender was nothing more than sucess. The viewports now were view screens, a hard line feed from cameras nestled in the weapons surface.*

Tojo: My lord, the Kuat surrendur is complete.

Cracken: Good! good. prepare the internal defensives. we will be expecting a visitor. in the meantime, prepare for a galactic boardcast via Holonet. I must address my new subjects.

*Cracken stood up, and walked to a Holo camera. a tech pointed at him. He was on.*

People of the galaxy. I am Dark Lord of the Sith Cracken, son of the late Emperor Palpatine. It was my fathers last request of me to regain what he lost so many years ago. the mighty Empire.

My father was misunderstood. he didn't want just power. He wanted peace. His system was a way to give that peace to the people, to stop such bickering and they fuedes in the burocracy that was the Old Republic. Even you new Republic suffers this very bickering in the new Senate. With me as Emperor, i shall put a stop to it.

Long gone are the old idealologies of my father, that non-humans are inferior. I embrace the non-human populace. my leading Admiral is a Chiss. My General, a Rodian. My science team hails from every corner of the galaxy, from every walk of life. In my rule, no non-human shall ever suffer the injustices that my father let happen. As my first act of Emperor, all persons or non-humans practicing the act of slavery of any species shall be imperisoned immediatly. No longer shall the Outer Rim be a haven for cheap free labor.

So, my people, rest easy. The galaxy is now a safer place to live.

*The tech turned off the camera, and saluted. Cracken smiled*

06-17-2002, 04:08 AM
Rwos has left. He's going after Cracken, and we're going after them BOTH. We'll reach Corellia in a few hours. Get ready

*One of the party points to the Holoviewer. Cracken is making a speech (As in the above post). Deac moves to the comm sensor, and punches in a code*

Hahaha. I'm spiking you Cracken!

Cracken:...No non-human shall suffer...

(Deac's voice is suddenly broadcast)

It's like that already, Cracken. Your pointless propaganda won't repay the lives of the victims of your superweapon. In short,

Vote Cracken for Senless butchery, pain, suffering, and to satisfy his lust for power!

*Deac's face now appears, and the synthflesh comes back to reveal the circuitry*

You're responsible for this.

06-17-2002, 12:48 PM
Katani Chass stood on the bridge of his command ship as he watched video from several different angles of the destruction of the Last Chance and subsequent decimation of the planet and surrounding moons. He was devestated. That truly had been their last chance. He sighed to himself as he considered his options. After the partial dismantling of the main Imperial fleet earlier, the Kuatis had been prepared to jump in and finish off what was left. But, since the arrival of that terrifying new superweapon, and even more startling, the announcement that the Empire had returned, Chass knew that resistance without help would be futile. He could jump in with all guns blazing, but he doubted that even Thrawn himself could have pulled off that kind of an upset. With a sigh, he realized what he had to do.

Chass: Mr. Lee, order the worst-case scenario evacuation order. Things are going to be rough for a while, but I believe we can get through it.

The Kuati fleet moved itself into a hyperspace position. Katani's only solace amongst this whole thing was that very few civilians from Kuat had died. Nearly all had been evacuated to the over one-thousand starships in the fleet. He gave the order, and in masses of thirties and forties the ships jumped to hyperspace, but where they would emerge would be a surprise to all but a few...

*Rwos' fighter flies invisibly into one of the moon's craters and hovers there silently, scanning the surface of the "moon" for a way in. There had to be an opening besides the weapons and drive stations...*

So Cracken, be afraid. Starkiller never fails. I destroyed the Imperial Research Facility on Lokpihet single handedly. You're responsible for such destruction.

You're going to hell.

The Kuati fleet emerged from hyperspace above a planet in the Unkown Regions. New Republic Surveys had given it only the designation NR-3100843, though to a more informal visitor, who knew what the proper entryways were, it would be known as Nhdaa'rr. Originally developed by the Chiss, but long forgotten, it had been utilized by Grand Admiral Thrawn as a secret research facility without any clearance level, because it quite simply didn't exist to anyone but him. Expounding upon the discoveries of the Scientist in the Maw installation, it had was an R&D outpost that was unkown even to the late Emporer. Thrawn hadn't used it during his return to civilized space though, because he hadn't wanted to reveal it's location, not to the New Republic, but to the more vicious alien species that lurked in areas yet undisclosed. Katani Chass, though, had friends in very high places. he'd stumbled onto this place simply out of coincidence, he was searching for a practical rendezvous point should a worst-case scenario, like the one that had just happened, occur. The inhabitants of Nhdaa'rr, though, were simply looking for news of the outside universe. They'd been unable to initiate contact with anyone for over 20 years, and they were beginning to get antsy. So, they made a deal. Chass would become the benificiary to all weapons designed within the outpost, and he would keep them updated and maintained through his connections in the Kuati government. From hence came the Last Chance. What Katani didn't know, however, is that the scientists still had one more ace up their respective sleeves or other appendage coverings. When he landed and told them the news of what had happened at Kuat, they said they needed a few more hours to discuss recent events before they made such a momentous decision. Katani had no idea about what they were talking, but he decided that now would be as good a time as ever to begin moving in the Kuati people. Nhdaa'rr would make a great home for the populace of Kuat. It had more than enough room, and the climate was almost paradisical.

When the scientists returned, they told Katani that they had come to a decision. They then asked him to follow them to a hangar Chass had always assumed to be empty. But the shielding on these hangars was second to none, so he could never be sure. The door opened slowly, in a melodramatic way that was straight out of the holovids, and there stood the most confusing thing Katani had ever seen.

It was roughly human form, though it's forty-meter height dispelled any notions of it being alive. Whenever the light caught a panel of it's armor, it threw rainbows about the room, causing every wall to be alive with color, giving the whole place a rather surrealistic feel, and offering an efective foil to the efficient machine of death that was this monstrosity. In one hand of the weapon was what looked to be the largest double-barreled rifle ever made, and to top it off, the head area was where the sensor clusters were kept. How quaint.

Katani: So, what does it do?

Scientist 1: I was hoping you'd ask. This project doesn't have a true name yet, though we were toying with Mirnacheem-hyeea, which, in some obscure alien dialect means Conqueror of Great Might or Conqueror without Equal. Basically, it's a human-cybernetic interface controlled machine of death. On it's shoulders there are a pair of turbolaser batteries, though I doubt you'll need them. On the back is a launch pack of several hundered baradium tipped missiles, enough to level several cities, but the true beauty of it is in the rifle. It's an electromagnetically powered railgun that fires projectiles which have a muzzle exit velocity speed of over 500 kilometers per second. It carries two types of ammo. One is a standard HE surface impact slug, effectively capable of taking down the fully-shielded bridge of a Star Destroyer in one shot. The other is slightly more powerful. It does not detonate upon impacting something, but usually continues another five-hundred kilometers or so, usually enough to penetrate that far into a planet's crust. Once there, it generates a nuclear-fission powered blast roughly equivalent to that of the reactor of the Second Death Star. Usually two of these is enough to destroy an entire planet, not that you'd ever do that, of course. The second barrel, while slightly less flashy, is no less efective. It fires a wide-beamed anti-circuitry pulse, which will render all electronics in a roughly two-kilometer line in front of you useless. Very handy if you don't want to kill anyone. The part I think you'll like the best though, is the armor. It is quite an improvement over the quantam armor that was on the Sun Crusher. I tell you now that you could take the wash of radiation from a star going supernova and not feel a thing. You should have no problems against this [/I] Crimson Star. There is only one problem though. That is the cybernetic implant. If you intend to pilot this to go after that Cracken, which I'm sure you do, you'll have to undergo an extensive surgery, which we can do right here, and then the training regimen. You should be ready to fly this baby within a day or so.

[I] Katani hated to wait that long, but he had no choice. So, just an hour later, he found himself preparing to go under the scalpel...

((OOS: I hate to rain on your parade, superthrawn, but:
"nuclear-fission powered blast roughly equivalent to that of the reactor of the Second Death Star"

-The DSII's core was a hypermatter reactor. Not nuclear fission.

-A superlaser can cut through quantum armor. Antimatter is much more potent.

If you intend to godmode, this isn't the place...go to Omnipresent Chaos. Otherwise, stick to the SW universe for "superweaponry"... /end OOS))

*Starr is breathing hard and attempting to clam himself down after his outburst. Suddenly his eyes open wide and he stares straight ahead*

06-19-2002, 03:42 AM
Cracken, at this very moment you have a new enemy: House Starkiller of the Atredis System. I hope you're prepared.

End Transmission.

*The ship exits hyperspace at Corellia. A fixed battle wages on the outskirts of the system. The Command ship, an ISD2, looms into view. Deac pilots the ship toward the back of the bridge*

Ok team, prepare to breach and cause havok.

Starr: He isn't here. Cracken...he isn't here. *he stares ahead, straight at the wall, apparently seeing something there that none of the rest could see*

Flax: Corair Wing and the MC-85 DefianceII are inboud, until then looks like we're on our own.

Not looking for him. I 'm gonna rewire the ship on a course for Cracken's ship, self destruct on-of course.

*Rwos' scanners slowly appraised the moon. The crust bristled with turbolasers, ion cannons, missile launchers, microsuperlasers, and full-blown superlasers in the largest craters, with deactivated cloaking devices surrounding them. The moon's surface was covered in multiple layers of ray and particle shields; something that Rwos hadn't even seen in Coruscant's immense shields. Overkill. Whoever had designed this weapon had wanted take no chances. Sublight and hyperspace engines ringed its axis, all fully shielded as well. Five hypermatter reactors ringed around a master power core above the hollow core of the moon, powering the immense systems. Rwos' sensors detected millions of depowered construction droids blanketing the walls, attached to a monstrous durasteel outer shell around the moon's hollowed-out core. So that's how they built it...programming droids, deploying cloaks, and leaving the thing alone to finish construction on its own. In the middle of the moon was an overlarge Super Star Destroyer suspended in the center of the core, locked into place by an enormous clamp around its nose and huge struts attaching to it and feeding into its power core in an almost parasitic fashion. The ship and the moon were both generating magnetic fields, apparently a sort of clever lock and key to activate a third super-powerful magnetic field projected inside an immense shell covered with quantum armor; a shell containing a gigantic antimatter generator. A mind-boggling amount of molecular-armored torpedo shells of multiple sizes filled the base of the enormous cannon jutting from the shell out through the moon's largest crater. The antimatter cannon. That generator is enormous...and less than a decigram of this stuff could destroy an entire planet. As if the superlasers weren't enough to do the job...

*Cracken smiled at the head of a large conference table. Kuat's representitives sat, sullen, and depressed. A good half was missing. The ones that died in the attack on the Capital city, or the ones that managed to escape to... well, no matter.*
Cracken: so, gentlemen, the treaty is complete then? please, come here, and sign.
*Cracken motioned them to come forward, and they each signed the document. The official surrendure of Kuat and her shipyards. Cracken nodded to his aide, and she left, to inform his commanders of the order. To make the ship yards to produce Imperial Fighters and capital ships immediatly. *

Cracken: well, good day gentlemen, you shall be escorted back to Kuat. *Cracken waved to his pilots, who headed to his fighters. The representitives left with them.*

Cracken: Tojo.
Tojo: yessir?
Cracken: Launch fighters in a defensive patrol formation. Tell them to look for... anything unsual. However, they are not to engage. They are to report the location of thier sighting.
General Handel, we are expecting one visitor, make sure he makes it to my chambers. I will ready the..... welcome.
*The officers nodded, and exited. Cracken headed to his chambers, for meditation on the upcoming encounter. He was here, in the system.

Outside the Crimson Star, fighters began pouring out, setting up a defensive grid around the super structure.*

*Meanwhile, in a distant place in teh galaxy, a planet designated NR-3100843, an Imperial surgeon began to operate, his intent to plant a cybernetic conrtol system into a person...... for his Emperor.....*

06-21-2002, 12:52 PM

Starr: *in a trance* He's in the bowels of a moon...a crimson star...above Kuat...he has murder in his heart, Deac, you must stop him!

*Rwos' scanners suddenly detect a breach in the particle shielding on the moon. New ships stream from the moon's surface.* Of course. He has to lower a section of his particle shields to allow fighters in and out. Wait a minute... *Rwos activates his fighter's engines and aims for the nearest gap in the shielding. Invisible to the fighters going out, he steers his nimble fighter through the exit ports and zips through the moon's mantle at top speed, before the shields can close. He gets through just as the shields close behind him.*

*suddenly Starr drops to his knees, grabs his head and screams*

06-22-2002, 01:37 AM
Evil must be opposed!

*Deac breaches the wall and runs in, firing and hacking with blaster and lightsaber alike, easily reaching the control pannel and setting the auto-destruct and the collision course for Cracken's command ship. He then exits the ship, seals the docking port, and pilots his ship away.*

06-22-2002, 05:01 AM
*Starr stands in a trance. Deac can feel a connection being made to him through the Force*

((OOS: Deac? Did you send the Star Destroyer after the Crimson Star? You know, the superweapon? Because Cracken's command ship is inside it. Or were you referring to the command ship of his forces left at Corellia?))

06-22-2002, 01:16 PM
(OOS: First off, let me assure everyone, I didn't ever intend to go into God mode. That kind of thing bugs me to no end. Personally, if the Crimson Star hadn't been foretold and all that, I would have found that a stretch on fair practices. There just isn't much of a challenge when you go God. So please, rest assured. ::End OOS::)

The Neo-Imperial team had found the planet just fine. It seems that Grand Admiral Thrawn had once again proved why he wasn't the Emporer and Palpatine was. And why someone named Cracken very well could become the next. They'd easily handled the insertion and replacement, none of these Kuatis had ever even seen the medical team on the planet, and the scientists there were the medical team, so things were going better than planned, as operations rarely do. But as every butter must have it's fly, so to must this one. (OOS again: sorry about the figure of speech guys... couldn't come up with one better on such short notice) For you see, where it was planned that where a complete trigger word/action mind control device, complete with neat little blinking light thingies would go, it was found that there was a significant amount of scar tissue--his record said that it was the result of a bad childhood incident with a blender. Rather traumatic. It was decided that reopening those wounds wouldn't be good for his psyche, so an alternate plan was used. Instead of being under Imperial mind control all the time with the big, bulky, Mind Controller 3000, they would downgrade to the thinner, cheaper 1500i, and only be able to control him when he was hacked into a computer system. Quite a trade for the price. Other than that small setback though, things went off rather smoothly. After explaining (using big-shot medical terminology and ignoring the whole mind-control thing) all this to his family and friends, the doctors made sure to download and send all research files to the Crimson Star, and then hypnotically induce the scientists into thinking that they had already performed the operation perfectly (through a little Force persuasion) and then left the planet aboard their cloaked yacht, safely avoiding the prying eyes of the Kuati fleet in orbit.

OOS even more: Hey guys, I'm used to posting more than this, but I was up at 6:30 this morning, and it's now 1:10 AM. So I'm a little tired, and my hands are starting to hurt. Hope that will be sufficient background on the plot twists and all, and be ready, for there are more to come in the next post, entitled The Training...

06-23-2002, 03:22 AM
*Flax charges after Deac* Damm fool!

*Just then a Sith emergs from a side corridor.*

Sith: The force betrays you jedi!

*Flax nodds*

Flax: Always there are two.

*Flax activates his saber and the two begin a deadly dance*

The plot thickens!

Over to you Cracken.

06-23-2002, 03:48 AM
[I was referring to the crimson star. Deac does not yet know what it truly is, just that it was the source of Cracken's transmission]

*Deac is annoyed that a sith slipped onto his ship. But ti won't last long*

Tell me, sith, have you ever danced with the Angel by the pale moonlight?

06-23-2002, 06:30 AM
*Starr suddenly breaks out of the trance. Deac hears a voice in the back of his mind: That won't be necessary, Deac. Starr ignites his saber and rushes at the Sith. He duels the being as if possessed, matching him move for move. Then, stunningly, he slices the Sith in two pieces. The Sith's body explodes in black energy only his lightsaber is left behind to tumble to the ground*

Starr: And so the prophecy is fulfilled! As I have killed the apprentice, so shall the Starkiller destroy the master. The first part of my father's dying prediction has come to pass!

06-23-2002, 01:25 PM
Katani Chass awoke from his surgery feeling more or less intact. There was a new pressure in the side of his head, and combined with having his head shaved, he felt like a new individual. Luckily, the anesthetic he'd been given was completely effective, he had a feeling he'd be feeling quite a bit of pain on the right side of his skull otherwise. New scar tissue was already flaring up at the edges of the implant, to mix itself with older scar tissue from the blender incident when he was seven. Just thinking about that hurt.

Katani was still sitting there, reminiscing about childhood experiences, both good and bad, when the leading scientist of the research facility entered, looking a bit worse for the wear, and looked over at Chass, who looked altogether peacful and happy with his new implant. Little did either of them know the sinister series of events that had begun when the implant had been, well, implanted. Ryoas Yeeyrnc, which happened to be the name of the scientist, spoke.

Ryoas: Did you sleep well?

Katani: All things considered, yes.

Ryoas: That's good, you're going to need it. It's time to begin your training.

They walked slowly out of the room where Katani had rested, chatting amicably, the scientist telling Katani how exciting of a time this was, that he'd been asleep about three days, and how surprised he was that the Mets had beaten the Yankees in interleague play. Katani merely listened, nodding when appropriate, but more or less tuning out the scientist. Not surprising, the man sounded like he could have put Ben Stein to sleep. Finally, they reached their destination; a computer interface uplink. The scientist explained that Katani needed to learn a few things, such as how to run the Conqueror and how to defend himself should be taken away from the Conqueror as well as how to properly maintain his implant. As is predictable, Katani is then hooked up, thorough an extension of his implant, into a computer jack. Immediately the outer world seemed to fade just a little. He was recieving information from the computers as fast as his mind could comprehend it. And that was pretty fast.

The computer prompted Katani, asking him whether or not he was ready for the beginning of informatinal download yet. Katani barely even thought to the affirmative before the computer was prceeding The first lesson, it told him, would be self-defense. Part A: Ju-Jitsu.

Katani: Ju-Jitsu... I'm going to learn Ju-Jitsu?

The tech just smiled at this obviously boorishly used reference to pop culture and film noir.

After several hours of the "training," Katani had learned everything the computer was going to teach him. It was time he actually went out and field tested that which he had come for.

All this time, the mind-influencer had stayed silent. There was little information in the previous linkings of Katani's mind that Neo-Imperialists didn't know already. Katani still had no clue as to it's existence.

Katani was a little dissappointed when he returned to the real world. Sure, he had never left it, but at the same time, he would never really return. The data flow he had experienced while a part of the interface had been exhilirating, not to mention staggering. In just a few short hours he'd learned more than he had in any other period of under a year of his life. Such are the wonders, and the curses, of the interface. The trek to the Conqueror was much longer than the one from his room to the uplink, and Katani again found himself having to tune out the annoying scientist. This time, at least, he had all this newly found information to marvel over, and he could use that to distract himself. In fact, he was so distracted, that he didn't even notice anything until he found himself being strapped into the command seat of the Conqueror. Once again, his data link extended itself to the well placed uplink, and once again he got that same thrill as when he first linked up. But this, this was far more enjoyable than even the training had been. In fact, this was the best thing he'd ever experienced. This time, instead of just information, there were sights, sounds, and feels coming into his head. He didn't just pilot this ship, he was this ship. Immediately he checked the weapons loadout, for now his mind-control device conviniently kicked in. He found that there was a full load of the nuclear slugs, as well as the high explosives, the missiles were primed and ready to launch, and the turbolasers fully charged and working great. One minor detail that was unexpected, but not unwelcome, was the load of simple metal slugs packed in the ammo clip of the railgun. He assumed these would be used for target practice. The subspace engines were completely ready, and though he was disappointed that there was no hyperdrive, this would not be a serious problem. The scientists had devised a carrier for him, that would be fully controllable through his interface, requiring no interaction with anyone outside himself. He relished this idea. He would be independent. He would work alone. He would become to Cracken like Vader was to Palpatine. Then, he would become more...

06-23-2002, 03:30 PM

*Starr's eyes clear and he looks somewhat apologetically at Flax* I saw my father's dying words on the holo recording of the day Cracken murdered them. He said that it would be his son who would destroy Cracken's apprentice, and who would lead others to cause his downfall. The Sith has been trying to intimidate me in visions, but those visions themselves will lead us to him. Flax and Odin, without your presence Deac will not survive. *Starr looks a little embarrassed at the presumptuousness of his words, but he continues anyway*

Deac, I don't think your trap will work...but that isn't the only way...

*The mighty Imperial Star Destroyer exits hyperspace, on a vector heading at full speed directly for the Crimson Star. Holocams on it connect directly to Deac's ship*

*Inside the core of Crimson Star, Termand Rwos attaches his fighter to the outside of the Super Star Destroyer, in a place his scanners suggest is outside a corridor that leads a winding path to the command chambers of the ship. He burns his way in with his laser weapons, flies in, and seals the crack shut again, keeping his cloaking device up at maximum to avoid detection.*

((OOS note: Rwos did this before in a Cantina thread...except he punctured the hole with the nose of his fighter, not a very stealthy thing to do ;)))

Cmdr. Cracken

*On the bridge, sensors picked up the Star Destroyer*
Admiral, we have one Star Destroyer on collision course!
Tojo:Fire the superlaser, and shoot it down!
But sir, it's not fully char....
I don;t care. It will send a message though to anyone stupid enough to try this again. DO IT.
*The mighty station turned, just enough so he Superlaser was withing range. Green points formed along teh superlaser dish, and a mighty bold streaked from it. It hit the Star Destroyer, but it did not vaoprize it. Instead, sinc ethe blast was not even half charged, it fragmented into 3 sections. As they headed for teh station, the turbolaser batteries opened fire, trying to destroy the remaining pieces still headed for the station. 2 were destroyed, however one got through. It slammed into the shields, then tractor beams pushed it away. not a scratch. TO destroy it, a team would need to be inside the Crimson Star.

Meanwhile, Rwos was in the corridors of the Titan. This was too easy.. not one guard.......*

06-24-2002, 02:18 AM
((OOS: *in his official role as Nitpicker* The Crimson Star has multiple superlasers, but we can assume that the others weren't charged at all (they weren't expecting a suicide run)

EDIT: *having reviewed* Three full rotating superlasers, a ton of smaller ones))

06-24-2002, 03:09 AM
Damn...never mind. The corellia fleet's crippled

*Activates comm*

Starkiller to all ships-the fleets in tatters.

*Deac moves to the pilot's seat*

We're going to Kuat, but first, we're going to Atredis for supplies and perhaps a few good men.

06-24-2002, 04:10 AM
*Suddenly a 5km Calamari Crusier enters the system, all guns fireing.*

Wedge Antillies: Do you lads need a lift?

Flax: Ok Deac, land in the main hanger, that baby can get us there twice as fast. She has a class 0.4 drive!

06-25-2002, 01:04 AM
Ok, Cal Cruiser, you can take us as far as Atredis Prime, but if you enter Kuat you won't last a minute.

*Lands in hangar bay*

06-25-2002, 06:10 AM
Pilot: Right you are Sir.

06-25-2002, 10:38 AM
*on board the Super Star Destroyer Titan*

*Rwos cautiously advances down the winding hallways. He was confident he could take any opposition Cracken could throw his way, or simply make himself invisible to them, provided they were all human (typical of Imperials). But there was no guards. Not a single soul in sight. Stretching out his senses, he cannot even sense another being in the vicinity.*

He knows I'm coming.

The Conqueror felt great. Katani couldn't believe his mind. So responsive, just the slightest thought, and he could move this thing any way he wanted. Twisting and turning, gyrating at a moments notice, and what's more, it fed him information from every direction, increasing his reaction speed. About the only thing it didn't do was tell the future. That was okay though. He was working for a Sith who could do that.

The training course was a series of obstacles and targets spread out across the planet's surface and extending at portions up into the atmosphere. Essentially, the goal was simply to make it to the end, while having hit every target. While traveling at a speed of about one tenth of the speed of light, for most people this would be quite the challenge, but for Katani Chass, it was thought that it would be rather simple, all things considered. After all, he was connected to the most powerful computer ever made, and his brain was nothing to be trifled with.

The hangar doors were opening. First, all that was visible was a small crack of light, but as time went on, and the doors slowly parted, the brightness grew. Almost comprable to Katani's time with the Conqueror. Each second he worked with the computer, it patterned itself more and more to his mind. Katani knew that it would only be a matter of moments before he and the machine were one, the ultimate combatant.

When viewed normally, the day really wasn't that spectacular. Clouds hung over head, casting an ominous note to things, but a glimmer of hope, embodying itself as a ray of sunshine breaking through the overcast seemed almost prophetical. When viewed through the eyes of someone just seeing things as they have always been meant to see them, the day was extraordinary. Each and every cloud could be maginfied down to the tiniest raindrop. He could see the way the wind was blowing, and how that would effect the storm front moving in from the east. He knew that if he wanted, he could destroy the mountains that loomed to the east, changing irreparably the landscape and weather of this spot for all time. Not now, though. Now, he felt like seeing what this thing could do in combat.

In a human it would have been like doing jumping jacks, or stretching legs. But, in a 30 meter tall killing contraption, it would be called firing the engines and rocketing into the stratosphere. Yes, it was a bit difficult the first time, to get the coordination right, but necessary before it was possible to move on to bigger and better things. It was simply a warm up. And it meant the universe would never be the same.

After returning lazily to the ground after what felt to him like a simple jump, Katani began to see the course before him. He'd already called up images from orbiting satellites, and he'd already mapped where he needed to go, what he needed to do at each juncture. In his mind, and on the computer screen before him, he ran through each turn and aim, each shot and acceleration. He ran through one last check of each of his weapons, cycling through the explosive settings on the nuclear and HE shells, seeing that they could be set to explode any time after impact with any solid object. Then again, at that speed, everything was solid.

The training course began rather simply. A few turns, followed by long straights, within which to pick up speed. The boundaries were marked only in the computer's databanks, there was nothing any less etheral than that. Don't be fooled though. There were definitely plenty of obstacles into which the Conqueror could run, if one wasn't careful. Several cliffs and abuttments, as well as rock outcroppings threatened anyone foolish enough to fly at them at full speed.

Just as Katani began to make his first trial run of the Training Grounds, his mind stopped being his own. It had melded completely with that of the Conqueror,[I] and as such, the mind-controller implanted in his head kicked in. Instead of hurtling for the first target, he began to claw his way towards space, startling everyone, including himself. And then, what was more surprising, he began to prime his weapons.

The Kuati fleet, better yet, what remained of it, orbited the planet in a decidedly abnormal pattern. Instead of stringing themselves out along the equator, as was recommended convention, the had clustered themselves facing away from the system's sun, toward the most likely avenue of attack. Unfortunately for them, when someone approached from the planet, it left their tails wide open. While normally this wouldn't be a bad thing, as whatever coming from the planet's surface wasn't likely to attack them, and whatever did wouldn't have a chance before they could react. They'd never counted on the greatest space-surperiority craft ever built to be flying up their engine nacelles, though. They never had a bit of a chance.

After it was all over, all that remained in orbit above Nhdaa'rr was what most people would mistakenly dismiss as debris, perhaps a minor asteroid field at first glance. In truth, it was the carbon and metal remains of over two-thirds of the people of Kuat. The shields of the combat ships were top-of-the-line, but they were never meant to take the kind of punishment a supernuclear blast creates. It had taken only two shells to leave the entire fleet vulnerable, and by that time most of the crews of the ships had been turned to jelly inside what they had thought were safe havens. Then, it had taken only a few HE shells to turn every single ship, over a thousand, into the floating graveyard that was now there. Theoretically, they would provide a great reentry show someday for the newly immigrated people of Nhdaa'rr. Of course, that was assuming they were still there. Or alive. Already the first nuclear shells were prepped to rain down on the planet. And no one would be left alive.

Katani began a mental check while the first wave of nuclear shells began their rain upon the planet. He hadn't wanted to destroy it, that would have been overly pretentious. No, this planet would be left as a reminder to all who would oppose him, that this is what awaited them. He had pleasantly surprised with the performance of the armor on his ship. The armor on him. Not only was it incredibly dense, even more so than that of the Sun Crusher, but it was also negatively charged, effectively cancelling the positive charge of a laser blast. Therefore, he hadn't even felt the effects of any of the turbolaser blasts. He was invincible, he mused to himself, as he prepared the second wave of nuclear shells. These would take advantage of gravity, and fall into an orbit, falling on the side of the planet that was farthest from him at the moment. The people of Kuat would be no more. He was the last.

After launching the second wave of shells was launched, Katani headed for the waiting carrier. It sat in a polar orbit, hyperdrive primed and ready for launch. It would be a little slow on the take off it he jumped into the middle of a battle situation, but that was okay. He'd soon have a new carrier...a Super Star Destroyer.

06-25-2002, 01:47 PM
OOS: Sorry guys, just need to explain something. The whole negative armor charge is possible. You see, what is called a "laser" blast in Star Wars terminology is, quite simply, not. What we call a laser is actually charged Tibanna gas, which is why laser weapons have ammunition problems. There is a scalability issue with lasers, meaning that they take longer and longer to charge the larger they get. So, therefore, Tibanna gas is used, rather similar to an Ion cannon, in that they fire a positively charged stream of Ions. Just thought I'd clear that up.

06-25-2002, 02:28 PM
((OOS: You got that pretty much wrong, but since no one else will likely understand and/or care except me, I'm not going to comment. This is an RPG that's run by it's story, not a technological debate.))

*Deac lands the ship down outside Castle Starkiller. The family has gathered their army for the war. Deac stands and addressess them*

Men and women of the House, I stand before you today not as your Lord, but your General. We join battle with the Republic to preserve everything we have rebuilt since the death of my father. I am leaving you again, as I must go on a dangerous mission, but know this:

Someday you'll return to your valleys and your farms, and you'll no longer burn to be brothers in arms. The day will dawn and we will emerge victoriuos. Victory is our survival.

We shall fight them in stars, we shall fight them in the system. We shall fight them in orbit, we shall fight them in the skies.
We shall fight them in the seas, we shall fight them where they land.
We shall fight them in the streets and in the hills.
We shall fight them until our hearts cease to beat!

*All cheer*

06-26-2002, 12:37 PM
The carrier emerged from hyperspace into the outer reaches of the Kuat system. Though Katani had no doubts this thing could handle what was thrown at it until he could identify himself, he wanted to be on the safe side... that anitmatter projector could be rather powerful. He didn't want to risk it.

He did have one advantage of being out this far though--he could scout the area without them being able to scout him--at least that was the theory when they'd built such powerful magnification into the Conqueror, anyway.

He scanned the battlefield, looking out over everything. There was the Crimson Star, as expected, and the rest of the fleet. The real surprise though, was when he looked at Kuat, instead of being in a million pieces or covered with devastation, only a small portion of the surface had been destroyed. He was even getting life form readings from the planet. That confused Katani. He was supposed to be the last Kuati. It would give him and infamity that would be unrivaled... a "He's the last one, but he's still taking over the galaxy" type of thing. This whole having something left... that wouldn't give him any convenient excuses to go around blowing up stuff. He'd have to make up some inconvenient ones then.

All in all, with the minor exception of a few unforseen surprises the Kuati system was pretty much how he expected it. So, he opened a comm chanel to the Crimson Star forever changing the fate of everyone involved with this fiasco.

"Hello," he said. "My name is Katani Chass. I'm here to speak to Cracken."

OOS: Well guys, here it is. The whole part about the absorbing of turbolaser blasts is extremely contreversial. Redwing says they work one way, I say the work another. But, as was said before, this thread works on story, not physics. :) So, let's just all be friends. And for the absorbing of turbolasers, we can just chalk that up to some unkown technology that was developed at the R&D base. And even though I thought the italics looked cool, and changed things up a bit, there seems to be a limit to how many italic characters the board will display in one post (seems to be about 5000) So, I've decided to switch back to the humdrum way of doing things. That's all there is for now... keep your stick on the ice.

06-26-2002, 02:34 PM
((OOS: Well, actually, the controversy mostly took place outside this thread :D carry on ;)))

*Deac loads up the ship with supplies as the troops board thier transport, bound for the Kuat rally point. A tech approaches him*

Tech: Lord, the cloaking device is ready. It is the only one left, and your aunt says

Let me guess... "Do be careful, Deac?"

Tech: And "Good Luck."

06-27-2002, 03:13 AM
*At an Airbase not far away 144 Starfighters are fueled and ready for launch. General Taklin Flax looks over the lines and ranks of A-Wings, X-Wings and B-Wings.*

*Flax adresses the pilots.*

Flax: Many of you have grown up with the notion of the mighty Republic, where we had the upper hand in weapons, numbers and munitions. You're about to experiance the kind of War your fathers and mothers fought. They fought to win freedom, today we fight to preserve it.

Long live the Republic!

*The crowd of techs, pilots, and officers corus*

Long live the Republic!

*In Space the remains of the fleet gather*.

*Dozens of Crusers, hundreds of Frigates, thousands of fighters.*

((OOS: Disclaimer: This post has been written in conjunction with Cmdr. Cracken and Redwing (me! :p) via Instant Messenger, each controlling our separate characters. Thus, this isn't godmode. [/end OOS]))

*Rwos walks down the hallway to its end...at the doors to Cracken's chambers. The doors open on their own. Rwos sees a chair. If he had been present during the Battle of Endor, he would have recognized this chair...but he can still sense the seething evil emanating from it. A voice speaks from the chair:

Cracken: I've been expecting you...

Rwos: I noticed. Your mistake.

Cracken: *in Rwos' eyes* if only you knew the power of the Dark Side. *Guards flood the room, blasters readied.*

Rwos: *draws his lightsword and ignites it* Bring it on.

Cracken: capture him. *The guards open fire*

*Rwos leaps, grabs onto the ceiling and vaults over the guards, taking out several as he does so*

*Cracken ignights his lightfoil, and raises it in a defensive position. Lightning flares from his fingertips, aimed at Rwos*

*Learning from past experience, Rwos catches the lightning on his lightsword. Since his lightsword cannot absorb the lightning, he creatively flings it off at the mass of the guards*

Cracken: Impressive. *Cracken swings, timing the swing so it hit Rwos when he lands. Rwos blocks*

Rwos: I've come to kill you, 'Admiral' Cracken. *swings his saber at Cracken's throat; it is blocked*

Cracken: But, this is only the beginning. *They trade blows, each keeping pace with the other*

Rwos: The beginning of what? *times his moves to keep pace with Cracken's*

Cracken: The beginning of a new order, a new day! The Return of the Sith! *Cracken knocks Rwos back* leave this plane, you have no buisness here.

Rwos: You're wrong. I have one order of business left, and that is vengeance. *gets up* You realize you cannot kill me. The means with which I got here prevents that. But I can kill you. *lunges at Cracken with his lightsword*

Cracken: *Parries the blow* If death, you won't relent, maybe capture and bait shall do you better! *Begins a frenzy of lightning quick attacks. Rwos has trouble keeping up*

Rwos: *suddenly increases the speed of his attacks, moving beyond the speed of human capability. Cracken, however, uses the Force to match* This monstrosity will go the way of the superweapons before it. *stabs at Cracken again, who blocks only an inch from his face* This is indeed the beginning, Cracken. The beginning of the end.

Cracken: *A series of blows are exchanged, and the two go to a stare down...*The future you think you can see........ it's clouded by the forces in this plane..... come with me, and we can change that.... we can make you a god in your world!

*Rwos grins. His beaked face, pointed ears and glowing eyes look demonic in the light* Rwos:There is no future for you. I will avenge the death of my friend Deac Starkiller with your head!

Cracken: Can';t your goody two shoes head fanthom what i'm offering you!? Power beyond anything your world has seen! power to do anything! hell, even *shudder* to help people...

Rwos: *laughs at him* My world has seen power far greater than you can imagine. Powers far stronger than your Force. The only thing you have to offer me...is my vengeance.

Cracken: *he smiles* i see you weren't aware.....

Rwos: *slightly frowns, uncaring* Aware? *slashes at Cracken, who blocks*

Cracken: Aware. that this "vengence" of yours is for naught.

Rwos: What are you talking about?

Cracken: Deac is alive. and is headed here.

Rwos: *eyes widen* What?!?

Cracken: oh yes... he's very much alive....and will be very stupid when he finds i have you INCARCERATED! *cracken goes for disabling blows*

*Rwos, shocked, doesn't block in time. Cracken's lightfoil ends up through his shoulder, removing his arm. Rwos falls to the floor, unconscious*

Cracken: Guards. get him in containment. now. *Cracken turns off his lightfoil, and the guards get Rwos in the binders. He is hoisted onto a moving apparatus.... a Jedi Binder....the kind used to incarcerate Obi-Wan Kenobi by Count Dooku at the beginning of the clone wars. The energy flow of the device is arranged so that when Rwos' arm regenerates, it would regenerate into a waiting binder.

Cracken oversees Rwos' Binder's placement above three other Binders...the first step in the vengeance of the Sith. One Binder was specially made for Deac, one for Flax, and one for Odin, all lined up and waiting. Cracken watches the Binder raised to its position above the others...and just laughs himself silly.

I win.

Cracken: yes, he arrived in system a short while ago. a pity i could not see him earlier. grant him clearnce

*Starr Hailfire stands quietly near Deac. He had been smiling, but then, abruptly, he frowns, getting his 'I've-just-seen-another-clouded-vision' look. He whispers something to himself that only Deac is close enough to hear*

So he has reckoned without me...the greatest insult possible. Well, that will be his downfall. His trap will fail. I know where you are, Cracken...and I can lead your worst enemies right to you. *Starr clenches his fists*

06-28-2002, 02:35 AM
*Deac turns to his party*

Team, listen up. I have managed to plan a way of gaining access to the Crimson Star. We're going to move in under cloak and then fly into the superlaser shaft to the reactor. We then land on a maintainance deck, and place charges, then fly out before they blow. Questions?

06-28-2002, 03:42 AM
Flax: The fleet will be standing by if you fail, we have to make this work, if yo fail my boy'll fly strait down the shaft to the reactor.

06-28-2002, 04:50 AM
((OOS: Ummm...lol, that may not be the best idea :D *points to schematics he posted earlier* ;) I know...anvil time :D
*wishes Rwos was still with Deac because he is way more straightforward than Starr* :D))

*Starr walks up to Deac* Wait! I have seen the plans to this Crimson Star...you might want to rethink that. The weapon is designed to be invulnerable to attack from the outside...as long as Cracken is inside controlling it. The shields must go down, and Cracken must be dead for that to happen. But...*steps in front of Deac and looks in his eyes* I can lead you to him...

(oos) I'mback. I know you all just missed me so much, and back to my drinking of delciouse Ale or the prefered Mead.

(brief story of what Odin was up to while all of you were elsewhere)

Leaving the Cantina, Odin launches his transport and jumps to Asgard. Arriving at the planet, Odin is rushed into a meeting of the Ruling Aesir. Afterwards there was feasting and general merry making.

Currently Odin, now with a company of Einherjar, is in deep space waiting for contact.

06-28-2002, 11:16 AM
((OOS: Someone who A) isn't captured and B) knows Odin (eliminating both my characters :p) send Odin the coordinates, please :D...Deac, that means you ;)

@Odin: What are the Einherjar?))

*Starr waits for Deac's reply*

06-28-2002, 11:45 AM
((oos @Redwing, in mythology Einherjar are the chosen warriors that live in Valhalla, until the day of Ragnorak (end of the world), The Valkyries (chooser's of the slain) pick half the dead form a battlefield and bring them to live with Odin in his hall of Valhalla.

Now a little more about my character of Odin.

Odin comes from the world of Asgard, inhabited by the human race of Aesir. They are god-like but mortal (long life, can use the force, but also can be killed). Odin is the leader of a counsel of twelve. Their is a crisis brewing, which is why Odin is away form Asgard. He returned because of this. Now the some Einherjar (the Aesir's elite soldiers) are now with Odin on his transport.

Hope this clear some things up Redwing.))

06-28-2002, 12:10 PM
Katani prepares himself to speak to the man who would be Emperor. Never an incredibly gifted speaker, he was about to plead his case to the person who could change his life. Who could change the Universe. Who could change everything. Katani assured himself, he wasn't afraid of change. This was a change he could handle. And, if he couldn't--well, he had ways to deal with that.

"Grand Admiral Cracken, my Lord. I have come from the planet Nhdaa'rr, with this weapon, this Conqueror, to present to you as a gift. It is, after your most beautiful creation, the deadlies killing machine ever devised. Of course, being as how you are the most incredible man ever, I'm sure you already know this. So, with one parting request, I offer you this gift."

Cracken: "Speak your request."

"I wish for you to use me. I want to go to the system of Belkadan. It is a small system--it's inhabitants minor. I could be of use there though. I could demonstrate your power, your reach... your might. I would conqueror upon the the strength of your name, and all would fall before me, or find themselves fallen. I would become like Vader was to your Father. I would be Imperial Might."

Katani considered things for a moment, while waiting for Lord Cracken's request. All in all, things had gone pretty smoothly. He hadn't stuttered, as he'd been known to do. He hadn't begged, or cried, or pleaded excessively. And, best of all, he hadn't had to speak to anyone who hated him. The officer he'd spoken to, while carrying a smug air of invincibility, and who would soon learn his place, had treated him nicely, giving him clearance and little more. Functionality. He liked that in an inferior. Of course, he also liked a salute, but that would come later. Or punishment would come. For he was the Conqueror. None stood before him without fear. None.

And so, as Katani waited, he wondered what Lord Cracken's next message would be. Only time could tell that.

(OOS: Hey Cracken, sorry about the minor infringement there, hope you don't mind, but the latter part was critical for character development, and for my character to continue upon the path that I have chosen for him. Again, hope you don't mind... and if you do, I don't know--yell at me or something.)

Cmdr. Cracken
06-28-2002, 09:25 PM
*Cracken looked at the man before him. He felt a nervousness. not from his presence... more a social one. No matter. this would be a most useful pawn in his game... an "Ace up the sleeve" if you would.*

Yes....yes.... go to the system, conquer it. I will send a Star Destroyer as support and for it to establish rule. Take the planet with what ever means necessary. Then return here. However, do not destroy it.

You are in charge of this operation. Do not fail me.

*Cracken waved his hand, and the Kuati gave a military bow, and left. Tojo noded, and left, to give the order to the fleet. *Cracken looked out the viewscreen, which held the image of the Kuat shipyards. They buzzed with activity. *

06-29-2002, 02:00 AM
*Deac turns to Starr*

Take me to him...but first...

*Deac punches in some co-ordinates*

Odin...we're here, going here.

Now, get me to Cracken.

06-29-2002, 06:31 AM
*Starr closes his eyes for a moment. Visions flash before them...Then he opens them again*

We must meet Odin first...without him, this mission is destined to fail.

*Starr pauses, shutting his eyes again*

You said your transport was cloaked?

06-29-2002, 01:56 PM
(are you talking to me?)

Einherjar Com officer: Sir we have have an incoming message. It appears to be coordinates.

OdinPlace the coordinates in the Nav computer, and as soon as a the calculations are done make the jump.

Einherjar Officer:It will be done my Lord. Calulations are done. Eta to destination 3 hours.

3 Hours later, the transport comes out of hyperspace, below and to the right of Deac's ship (hey I spelled his name right this time :D)

Einherjar Officer: We have arrived sir. Sensors are picking up an ship above use, 3 kilometers away. Your orders?

OdinHail the ship. Tell them that I have arrived, and wish an update on the situation. Helm bring us close to the transport.

Helm: As you command.

06-30-2002, 03:36 AM
Odin, we're going after Cracken and we want you to help. As for your men, I'd be honoured if they fought alongside the House's troops.

And Starr, yes, this ship does have a rare cloaking device. It still works, even after 50 years. Power cells have a half-life of 300.

06-30-2002, 05:52 AM
Flax: Remember Deac, none of us can take him alone. He already killed me once. Hell I've killed more Sith Lords than you've had birthdays! That guy is the son of the Emperor.

06-30-2002, 08:54 AM
Starr: All four of us must go...but I cannot face him. I want to, but I know it will end in defeat. My revenge will be to cause his downfall.

We must enter before the fleet arrives...the Crimson Star will lower all its shields to let fighters out. Once your fleets arrive, it will lower only one shield at a time, making it too difficult to get in. You should summon the fleet as soon as you're inside.

*he closes his eyes again for a moment*

We must land under cloak inside Cracken's Super Star Destroyer. From there...I can lead you to Cracken.

06-30-2002, 11:46 AM
Transport docks with Deac's ship. Odin and four Einherjar. After finishing the docking procedure, Odin's transport makes a jump to hyperspace.

Hello Deac. What is the house army? My Einherjar, operate on their own. They will take objectives if I approve, but they will not take on any outsiders.

Shouldn't we be going.

06-30-2002, 02:27 PM
(OOS: So comes the end of a great plan... I was hoping you'd let me destroy the planet Cracken... I had a great, and rather amusing, post set for that. But improvisation is the sign of true genius, and I've never denied being that. Oh, and by the way, this post isn't actually going to do much, just give some background and character development on Katani. So, if need be you can prolly skip it, but I'll try to make it interesting reading nonetheless. Trying to increase the whole wordsmithing skills and all.)

Katani thought to himself how dissappointed he was. He had hoped to completely destroy Belkadan. To tap into their computer systems and revel in the screams of it's sentients at their impending doom. To become a god, to hold the strings of life and death in his hands, and to feel the pain as he tugged each, the joy, elation, sorrow and agony. He would be the Harbinger of doom, and Death would follow him like a submissive dog, obeying his every beck and call.

The Conqueror stood waiting for him when he returned to the hangar. He climbed aboard, still a bit dejected, but also savoring the anticipation of the utter dominance he would bring upon Belkadan and it's inhabitants. Perhaps he would kill them all anyway, despite what Lord Cracken had said. Perhaps he would make himself Lord of Belkadan, controlling the people like the ruler he was born to be... like he should have been over Kuat. If it wasn't for Deac Stakiller... if it wasn't for Cracken. Many had stood in his way before. Many obstacles, many people. But he had passed them all. And then, only one thing stood in his way, one man who could destroy him. One man whose knowledge could prove deadly to his very existence. Deac Starkiller. And so, when properly equipped with a few dozen Noghri, he headed to a particular cantina on Tatooine. There he found Deac... and proceeded to lose yet another fight because of his underestimating his foes. But no more. He now had the Ultimate Weapon... despite what he'd told Cracken, nothing could destroy this beauty. He would survive. Alone.

*An Old last model Z-95 Headhunter drops out of hyperspace at Belkaden.*

*Taklin Flax' personnal fighter, the "BattleDog", was not a Headhunter. Granted, it had the hull, wings and cockpit; however the craft had shields rating on Capship levels, guns more powerfull than Turbo lasers. These guns were tachyn, pure energy weapons.*

*Flax had sensed a strange, menacing presance, un holy and inhumen.*

Killing it fit right in with his job description.

*Flax clokes his fighter.

07-01-2002, 03:04 AM
*Deac's cloaked ship, with Deac, Odin, Flax, the Einherjar, (and whoever Deac and Flax brought along for the ride, I assume a commando team) exits hyperspace over Kuat. The Crimson Star is dead ahead...*

Starr: Remember, don't call in the rest of the fleet till we're inside the Titan...

((edit: Didn't see Battledog's post;

OOS: @Battledog: Didn't you say/imply you were with Deac?

And...how did you find Belkaden?

A) Superthrawn never said he arrived at Belkaden yet. He could still even be at Kuat.

B) How did you know he was going there?

C) How do you know his character is so "foul and unnatural"? :D

D) Why did you leave Deac? When did you?

You know...if it's a different person at Belkaden by random coincidence, it would still work...but currently it looks like borderlime godmode...if I'm wrong, Deac, correct me))

[Let him off with a warning]

How do we get in there?

07-02-2002, 04:35 AM
with guns blazing?

07-02-2002, 04:43 AM
OSS: Wow, what was I on!?!?!?

Right, for the record:

*This post is timed just before Deac's jump to hyper space.*

*Flax' X-Wing floats in space, at the centre of a huge formation of fighters.*

Flax: Good luck Deac. The fleet awaits your call.

OSS: For the record Flax only ever flys his own fighter or transport. He hates being on other peoples ships.

07-02-2002, 01:06 PM
((OOS: It was probably unconscious compensation for my uber-nitpickyness :D

Actually, this is a good thing, because I didn't know your personal fighter was that powerful; it can actually be more useful than I imagined ;)))

*in response to Deac's question*

Starr: You and Odin must attack him directly. I will lead you to his command chambers...I have seen them in a vision. As for getting in...the Crimson Star's weakness is that it doesn't have its weapons systems fully charged. Only its shields are kept up. It has fired its superlaser system within the past few hours, so it won't be fully charged yet, and it will take another day to prepare the antimatter cannon for firing again.

Cracken will be controlling the fleet through the Force, just as Darth Vader and the Emperor did at the Battle of Endor. This ship can sneak under cloak into the Crimson Star itself when it lowers it shields to let fighters out. We must infiltrate the SSD Titan in the moon's core. Once inside, the cloak will be useless.

*closes his eyes again*

His command chambers will be heavily guarded, perhaps with Reborn clones....yes, I can sense their signature on the Force. It is clouding my ability to see Cracken... He may not be in the Titan's command chambers when we get there...after we defeat the guards, I will be able to find him.

Immediately after we enter the SSD, you must summon the fleet. Talkin Flax must lead the attack on the Crimson Star, because his fighter is the only one the right size yet with strong enough shields to survive the attack...he must bring the shields of the beast down. *Starr takes out a holo and points to the image projected; it looks like the Death Star's trench except with an enclosed shaft at the end* Right there: There is a shaft leading to the main control systems. The central shield projector is located here, but it cannot be hurt by ordinary fighter weapons...only weapons more powerful than a turbolaser, which Flax has on his fighter. The shaft is only small enough for a one-man fighter to fit through and get back out, which was why it was constructed this way; no capship could get in to bring the shields down.

Once the outer shields are down---the inner shields will still be up; the Crimson Star has a better design than Palpatine's Death Star...no fighters will be able to get inside the superweapon itself, but attack can be commenced to destroy the primary superlasers before they can be fired again. By this time, we have to have gotten to Cracken, so he will be distracted enough that the New Republic's fleet can have a chance against his.

*Starr pauses for breath, then nods and puts away the projector*

Hurry...we must get inside before Cracken can sense us.

07-02-2002, 01:09 PM
Katani finally finished strapping himself into the That little bit of rhetoric he'd just gone through had been good for his psyche, but bad on time. He'd wasted almost five minutes sitting there thinking. He had no doubt the techs waiting to launch him were becoming impatient. But, no matter. He was their master now, and there were few who could do more harm to them than him.

The Uplink slid into it's slot easily, plunging Katani back into the "Real World." He'd been away so long, he almost couldn't remember what it was like. But now that he was back... it was like a Crack addict who just got their first hit after a month of withdrawl. He felt like he could fly. And he could.

The tech had, indeed, become impatient. He couldn't wait for this ingrate to launch. He strutted around here like he owned the place, like he could order around anyone he wanted to. When he'd barged into the day lounge, taking him off his break to come and launch him off, then had sat in his cockpit for five minutes staring off into space, he'd let off a string of curses that would make most mothers blush and most scoundrels stand up and applaud.

Katani ran through the briefest of preflight checks, then activated the repulsorlifts on the [I]Conqueror, raising a comfortable two meters off the deck, and manuevering it down and out of the opeining of the hangar bay. He then kicked in the engines, and put space tracks between himself and Lord Cracken. It would be a long time before he'd want to return here again... just the way Cracken had planned it.

Katani docked up with the Star Destroyer that was to carry him to Belkadan, noting it's name; the Sanity's Requiem. How fitting.

The Captain of the Sanity's Requiem turned out to be a man by the name of Tistre. He proceeded to tell Katani the whole of the story of how he'd risen up through the ranks of first the Imperial Navy, and then the Neo-Imperial Navy. By the end of the narration, Katani was ready to list to the man a long list of grievances the Emperor had committed, starting with the destruction of the Jedi, continuing to the destruction of Alderaan, and ending with the destruction of the ability of Storytelling. He decided it would simply be easier to kill the man instead. But that would come after Belkadan. He still needed this ship, and this man, to get him where he needed to go. The curses of necessity.

The Star Destroyer dropped out of hyperspace well outside the planet Belkadan, partly for reasons of avoiding an ambush, and partly because Katani had insisted that they didn't want to be close when the shooting started. He pulled out of the hangar bay, and found that a veritable fleet of ships hung over the planet. Apparently, someone knew he was coming.

07-02-2002, 02:26 PM
((OOS: @Flax: Do you actually have a character at Belkadan, or are you completely scratching that particular post?))

*The cloaked ship drops out of hyperspace, surrounded by the vast imperial fleet. Deac looks worriedly at Starr*

Starr, you know best. Take us in.

07-03-2002, 01:39 AM
Well the line: "We count 30 Rebel Ships...." is pretty rouf. The acual number could be 24 or 48. In the Novel there are 4 squads. so presumably Green and Blue were there, we just didn't see them

07-03-2002, 01:42 AM
OSS: I scratch that post. Here follow the stats for my fighter.

Speed: 160 MGLT
Acel: 58 MGLT/Sec
Shield: 160 SBD
Hull: 35 RU

Pitch: 125 dps
Yaw : 105 dps
Roll: 150 dps

Not quite as tough as I made out.

07-03-2002, 04:48 AM
((OOS: Shields are the biggest concern, and your 160 SBD is still far better than the normal X-Wing 50 SBD; you'd actually have a shot at taking out the outer shield generator and still getting out. Plus I understand your laser cannons are capship level (at least, Starr thinks they are, and he's the one planning this thingamajig)))

*Starr pilots the transport to the Crimson Star's surface, seeming to grow more nervous by the moment. Droid TIE fighters, along with miscellaneous other TIE types, pour out of the moon's ports.*

Starr: Wherever there's TIEs going out...that's where the shields are down.

*Starr flies the transport into a stream of TIE drones. The sight of so many TIEs moving past the transport in the opposite direction is unnerving, despite the party's knowledge that they could not be seen. The transport flies safely down the wide chute deep into the core of the Crimson Star. They reach an open inner level inside the moon, and the party spots several chutes through which drones are entering rather than exiting*

Starr: Let's try one of those...

*the transport enters one of the chutes and is suddenly sucked forward at incredible speed. They eject right in the middle cavern of the Crimson Star to behold the sight of the massive Titan suspended in the center of the core*

Starr: Look! It's the Super Star Destroyer! Cracken's command ship!

07-03-2002, 12:00 PM
((oos, now you know I have personal bodyguards/troops, and yet you fail ask, what army I have available to put towards this op, that or ships.... And further info, Aesir, is a warrior race, we like big weapons/powerful :D)

Looking out the window at the massive imperial fleet. Odin begins to laugh.

I thought you said this was going to be hard. What do you want blown up first?

07-03-2002, 05:53 PM
((OOS: @Admiral: Your timing is a wee bit off...we're inside the Crimson Star now, there's only the SSD Titan there :D I'll assume you said that when we were entering

And the reason nobody asked for your army: Starr didn't think of it :D))

*the transport, still under cloak, enters the hangar of the Super Star Destroyer Titan. Everybody exits the ship*

Starr: Hurry! We have to get to the command chambers! *shuts his eyes and concentrates* This way! *runs to the second-to-nearest entrance and sabers the door open* Follow me! Watch out for Reborn!

*As they run, Starr comms Flax, a microjump away with the NR fleet* General Flax! Get here ASAP! Transmitting your flight plan---*taps buttons*---now! Take out that shield generator and then take out the superlasers! You'll have less than twenty minutes before they can charge! Go, go, go!

07-04-2002, 01:30 AM
*The party run down a corridor, heading toward Cracken's private inner sanctum. But, before they can get there, they are jumped. Two reborn behind, two in front, along with...*

Reletha. You have a tendancy for backing the losing side...

Reletha: Shut up. No pointless banter, no revealing of secret plans. Just plain, simple death. *Turns to Reborn* Get to it!

07-04-2002, 02:50 AM
((oos: Damn Lag :) ))

One of the reborn goes after Odin. The two engage in combat. The relatively small hallway, prevents the use of everyone using a lightsaber (after all two side by side , swinging would most likely hit each other)

Pulling a vibroblade, Odin lunges after the reborn. The ensueing combat between the two, is violent but the reborn was obviously new and inexperienced.

Odin finally pushes the blade through the reborn's eye, spilling blood everywhere. Whipping the blade on his pants, Odin looks around to see if anyone else needed help.

07-04-2002, 04:08 AM
Flax: Red group, go. All fighters follow me.

*The fleet enters hyper space*

*The fleet exits*

*The DefianceII opens up with her BIG guns. 3 golden bolts concentrate on a portion of the shield.*

Command: Sector 27 is down.

*The fighters power into though the shield.*

*Flax: Find the power terminals.*

*Time compression*

Keyan Farlander: This is Blue 1, we've found a reactor shaft!

Flax: You're kidding!

Kayan: Nope.

Green Wing: The Shield is down!

Flax: Capships retreat. Corsair wing remains, all other fighters retreat! Go.

*Red group start thier run.*

Cmdr. Cracken
07-04-2002, 05:42 AM
*As the battle outside waged, the New Republic commanders were nervous... not one of teh Crimson Star's weapons fired.

Then, the Anti-Matter cannon pulsed with energy, and blasted a capital ship to oblivion, the shock wave taking a chunk out of two near by cruisers. The superlasers began to erupt in an impressive display of precision targeting, taking out cruiser after cruiser. then silence. Turbo lasers began licking the fighters and the remaining cruisers.
Down in the shaft, the fighters began thier runs, only to find what started as a peaceful nav, to a fight for thier lives. Ion cannons spoke angerly, disabling many of the fighters. Flax's fighter's shields hold, and manages to get to the main reactor core. Suddenly, his ship is rocked with a tremendous force, lurching forward, than it stoped. He looked around, and saw a massive Ion cannon sitting in the "reactor". He'd been tricked.

The Ion cannon smashed down his shields with a single blast. Rather than falling, Flax's fighter is pulled towards the opposite end of the dummy "reactor", by an invisible yet powerful force... tractor beams. His fighter is rapidly drawn into a waiting hangar and smashed none to gently into the opposite end, knocking him unconscious. Imperial guards surrounded the fhighter, and forced the cockpit open, firing several stun bolts into the cockpit... They took no chances. The Jedi Binder stood waiting, and he was secured in.

07-04-2002, 05:58 AM
*Starr backs away from the fight, and wrinkles his brow and shuts his eyes in a look of concentration. He puts forward his hands, and...

..suddenly the Reborn go flying, with a shocked-looking Reletha flying after them. Starr grabs Odin and Deac and points to a spot on the wall ahead in the hallway*

There! It's disguised with a hologram! It's the way to Cracken!

*Starr Force-speeds away---and sure enough, right through the wall. Deac and Odin follow---

And suddenly a huge durasteel door slams behind them. They can hear another close behind it, and another behind that, and several more behind those. The room fills with knockout gas. The ceiling opens....to reveal a gigantic ion cannon. An enormous bolt engulfs Deac and Odin and fills the room, and then all there is is blackness.*

07-04-2002, 06:33 AM
((OOS: Disclaimer: This post has been written by both Cmdr. Cracken and me via Instant Messenger to keep the number of necessary replies down.))

*Cracken sits in his sanctum, in deep meditation. a cloacked figure walks into the room.*

Cracken: is it finished?

*The figure keeps his head bowed in reverence* Yes, Master. The illusions of the Reborn, Syrnl's daughter, and the Force-cloaked room were successful. Deac Starkiller and the one named Odin are now in our hands.

The figure lifts his head. It is the face of Starr Hailfire.*

Cracken: Good. you have done well, my young apprentice. *Cracken's chair swivles, and he now looks down upon his charge* you may rise. *Cracken gets up, and motions Starr to walks beside him* and what of the New Republic Government? have they answered our offer for surrendure?

Starr: No, my lord. They still refuse.

Cracken: I see. i must attend to that buisness myself. have the fleet jump to Coruscant. I will discuss the surendure with them... personally.

Starr: Yes, my lord. *he walks out of the room, and then returns a few minutes later* We are on our way.

Cracken: Good. *Cracken and Starr walk down several hall ways, and end up in a large command chamber. four figures can be seen floating in the far end of the large chamber, suspended in Jedi Binders.

((OOS note by Redwing: Think the thing Dooku had Obi-Wan suspended in in Episode Two on Geonosis. In this RPG, they're being called Jedi Binders, for lack of better term.))

A blue hue fills the room. Techs are feeding a small reptilian animal... a Ysalimari, one for each of the men in the prison Cracken built: Flax, Deac, and Odin. Three. The fourth Binder has no ysalamir for it. Termand Rwos floats unconscious inside it.*

Cracken: Well, gentlemen, i see your little adventure is at an end. May i introduce my apprentice, Starr Hailfire.

Starr: *smiles wickedly* I can't believe you took it seriously when I 'destroyed' the 'Sith apprentice' that had somehow magicked its way onto your ship. You should have suspected many times, but especially then. I thought my act was rather transparent, myself. Oh well, too late for you now...pity. If you hadn't listened to me, then none of you would be here, and you might have still had a chance.

Cracken: by now you have realized you cannot destroy this station, as teh anti-matter would be enough to annihilate... well, you do the math. especially.. when we're in the very heart of the galaxy... *Cracken waves his hand, and a large viewscreen flickers on. Coruscant*

Cracken: i doubt you will try any heroics now.

((OOS: If anyone paid attention to the prophecy in the Cantina 5...this was foretold :D))

07-04-2002, 07:08 AM
Coming back to consciousness Odin stares viscously at Starr. Unknow to the others in the party, Odin carries an implanted beacon, designed to go off in case he ever became unconsioucs.

*on the world of Asgard*

Einherjar comm officer: Inform the councel that something has happened to Lord Odin.

Einherjar soldier:As commanded.

Later during the council sesion.

Vidar(standing in for Odin):It is agreed then, we go to war. We either retrive Lord Odin, or die with him and the rest of the galaxy.

*back to Odin and the others*

Einherjar left to guard the ship, begin to get blood thristy. When the beacon goes off, they decide to fulfill their desire to kill the enemy. Moving stealthly down the corradors they come upon a group of reborns talking about the captives and where they were kept. After the reborn finished their conversation the Einherjar pounced.

Each taking their own Reborn by surpise, the Einherjar disguise themselves as Reborn, and move to the location of Odin, leaving hte four enemy soldiers in the corrador with their throats slit.

Wandering into the prison chambers, now occupied only by Starr, the Einherjar take flanking positions. Pulling out never before seen weapons, the Einherjar shoot Starr in the back. He collapses in a momentarily stunned.

Rushing to Odin's side, the Einherjar tech officer, searches for a way to release Odin from his bindings. Getting frustrated, the tech officer takes his sword and destroyes the consoles. The act turning off the Jedi Binders. Releasing a now very angry man.

07-04-2002, 07:38 AM
((OOS: @Admiral:There are no Reborn. It was all an illusion, there to give something to slow you down and give Starr an excuse for not being able to find Cracken immediately

Plus if you actually broke free (yet) Cracken could easily destroy Coruscant. I hope Vidar didn't mean that part about dying with him and the rest of the galaxy :D ;)))

*An enraged Odin rushes at full speed...straight towards the Einherjar. He swings his sword and stabs the Einherjar next to him, and then stabs the next nearest Einherjar before they have time to react. Force lightning comes out of nowhere and knocks the other two Einherjar unconscious as they try to reconcile their Master's transformation.

The illusion dispells as the Einherjar fall. The command chamber appears to expand in size, revealing consoles still intact and Binders also intact on the other side of the room. Starr Hailfire, breathing hard, stands over them as they fall into unconsciousness.

Starr: Now that's done. *to the guards that fill the room* That should have killed them...would have killed them...but these "Einherjar" seem to be as tough as Odin described them. Take their weapons, strip them, and put them in the cellblock suspended in vacuum. If they manage to escape again they'll simply die.

*turns towards the captives, still in the Jedi Binders* NOW do you see that it is HOPELESS? Fools! Nothing will stop my master from taking control of the galaxy. And if any of you try anything, Coruscant will be destroyed! *Starr strides out angrily*

*Rwos stirs, showing his first signs of life. His binder is suspended above the other three. He looks down at Odin and the others below him*

Odin...Flax...Deac? All of you? No...

((OOS: No, Starr doesn't know about the beacon; small oversight...

*waits for Deac and Battledog to reply with their reactions*))

Cmdr. Cracken
07-04-2002, 10:13 AM
*Cracken is seen simling with glee*
Calm youself, young apprentice. They shall get thiers...
*Notices Flax stirring*
Well, i think one of our esteemed guests is waking up.
*looks at Deac*
How does it feel? hmm? to have that mangled thing you call a body? a pity. i could have given you a new one, you know. but alas, your fate has been chosen. Like Vader, you are more machine than man.
*His comlink chirps* Ah, well, i must be off. I must give your governemnt credit. They refused every offer. now, i think i have an offer that cannot refuse.

*To Starr* "Entertain" our guests. *Points to Flax* Him first.
*Starr gives a bow, and Cracken walks out. He strides down the hall way, and after a bit, he enters a hanger bay. His shuttle, prepped and waiting, and his escort entourage. He boards, and several decoys leave the station, all with the same markings and escorts. The make for Coruscant*

07-04-2002, 11:08 AM
((@Redwing, make them Stormies then, point is Odin's Bodyguards found out where he was.

Also as far as the Aesir are concered, the New Republic is not worth their time. They enbrace death, and believe it is better to die then live among evil. If their actions to take out the galaxy then it makes no difference to them.

The Einherjar, are now extermly pissed at Starr. Further more, part of their training, allows them to see an illusionist after an illusion is cast. In other words anyother Illusion Starr makes for this group will not work. This is due to a very disaterous part of the Aesir's history with a master illusionist))

The two very disgruntled, yet unwounded Einherjar sit bounded at the feet of Odin. Feeling that the have been disgraced in front of their Lord, they wish for death. However for now they sastify themselves with the knowledge that their other two free comrades are alive, and will come to their assistance soon.

The two Einherjar that Starr stabbed in his attack are left for dead on the floor. Slowly their wounds heal as they direct the force inwards. Remaining perfectly motionless until their Lord Summons them so they may fight and die in glory.

07-04-2002, 11:15 AM
((OOS: No, you can consider the Reborn that they saw Starr's baiting of a trap for them. That still works.

Wait...the Einherjar have been moved to a cell

*points to post*

"Starr: Now that's done. *to the guards that fill the room* That should have killed them...would have killed them...but these "Einherjar" seem to be as tough as Odin described them. Take their weapons, strip them, and put them in the cellblock suspended in vacuum. If they manage to escape again they'll simply die."

If you want ummm...they can be with Odin in spirit or something?

What I'm trying to do now is let Deac and Battledog have a chance to reply))

07-04-2002, 11:42 AM
(I disregarded that part since you placed the two that in a vaccum cell, if you could explain that, since I don't want them dead at the moment. To the best of my knowledge a vaccum lacks air, and next time pm me so as not to take up room.... Also why Odin has yet to do anything yet, so they may respond.)

07-04-2002, 12:31 PM
((OOS: Suspended in vacuum, I'm not killing

*PMs you the rest of the stuff*))

07-04-2002, 01:16 PM
Katani paused his flight into the system for a moment, and sized up the veritable armada that was arrayed before him. There were ships of all makes and sizes, from fighters to frieghters, he was sure he even noticed an Assualt Frigate in there. No matter, they'd all be doomed soon anyway. Naturally though, he was curious as to how he knew that someone would be coming. So, as any truly curious person would, he simply asked.

The name of the Assault Frigate, which Katani merely assumed would be the flagship of the fleet, went by the name of Happenstance. Although of a slightly older model, it was still a match for any ship of the same size in any fleet anywhere in the Galaxy. It's Captain called himself Otpio, he was born and bred on Belkadan, so he had a particular attachment to the place. Needless to say, he didn't want to see it destroyed.

So, when he was being hailed by this strange craft called the Conqueror, that had just entered the system, he was intrigued. So, of course, he responded.

"Happenstance here, how can I help you?"

"Hello, Captain. My name is Katani Chass. I'm here to destroy you."

"Yes, I knew you'd be coming. The prophecy has foretold it. The prophecy is fulfilled."

"A prophecy..."

This revelation shook Katani to his roots. He couldn't believe that someone had the balls to actually predict his future. On the other hand, his interest was piqued.

"Go on."

"Here, I can't explain it. I'll just read it to you.

One day shall come a great man's son
Who strives to rule o'er everyone
He shall place himself inside a Star
His Empire shall stretch both near and far

One day shall appear a Conqueror Without Equal
His insanity is the death knell for many people
Billions shall die because of his rage
A Belkadanaian Armada he must engage

United, together you all must stand
Though you'll be crushed by the pow'r of his hand
If you fight side by side
History shall remember how hard you tried

To the heart of the Rebel he shall send himself
Though it's citizens be be placed upon a shelf
Outside of his reach, though he tries hard
His destiny is to battle the star."

Now Katani was completely outraged. Someone actually thought they could prophesey what he would do. This was just too much. And insane! How could anyone think he was insane. Sure, he'd destroyed a few billion people and all, but when you think about it, is that really insane? He didn't think so. Anyway, this was just too much for him. Accusations, predictions, his mind was in turmoil. So, he did the only thing he knew to do. He killed.

The entire, ammassed fleet over Belkadan took all of twenty minutes to immolate. Katani was liberal with his Nuclear shells, and the ships were destroyed with ease, leaving but a few pieces of debris to mark their passing. A bit sad, if you think about it.

The only thing that seemed odd about this attack on the system though, is that Katani didn't finish it. When he looked down at the world, he couldn't bring himself to destroy it. He didn't know why, he just couldn't. So, he returned to the Sanity's Requiem, where the Captain simply couldn't stop buzzing with compliments about how incredible that had been. Katani wanted to buzz about a foot off of the top of his head. Finally, Katani made up his mind about where he needed to go. He had warned the Universe that he could cause damage. Now, he would cut out the heart. Coruscant. He would become a god.

07-05-2002, 03:17 AM
*To Cracken* I'd rather be a Gamorean Dung Bug than side with a scum-sucking fascist like you. You can command obiedince, but I have one thing you'll never have-respect. I have a house army dying for me-do you think any of your troops would work for free.

And as for you, Starr, I can't say I'm really surprised. I've been around Syrnl long enough to know your stench. Something was wrong with you from the start, and that's why I hardly talked to you.

And if you destroy Coruscant, Cracken, what of your father's relics? Is he really your father? I'd have thought he could afford contraception. Clearly not. Besides, if you destroy Coruscant...

*Deac clicks his head to reveal his proverbial ace, the synthflesh on his chest pulls back to reveal the circuitry. Imbedded in it is a control panel, and a symbol meaning anti-matter*

Deac goes out in a blaze of glory. And you go too. Pathetic body, huh?

07-05-2002, 05:41 AM
Odin:While I'm here can you get me some Ale?

07-05-2002, 07:38 AM
((OOS: Cracken left for Coruscant already, but I'll assume the Binders were rotated the wrong way at that time ;)))

Starr: *incredulously* Are you people always like this? *walking around the Binders to keep facing the rotating captives, saber ignited* Can't you see that you are beaten?

Rwos: You're a fool, Hailfire...all of your kind are.
*Rwos mentally searches for the controls to the Binders on the far side of the room as he rotates. Unfortunately, he isn't familiar with the technology being used, so he comes up empty*

Starr: *looks up at Rwos* Aha, the fourth member of the party...I bet you're impressed with your friends' gullibity? Or with your own, for that matter? Did you really believe Starkiller was dead, or you could defeat my Master?

*Rwos doesn't answer*

Cmdr. Cracken
07-05-2002, 11:49 AM
*On Coruscant, Cracken is in talks with the New Republic governement.. Things are... interesting.... *

Cracken: Gentlemen and ladies, please, you have daily burrecratic wars in takes MONTHS for anything important to be really decided. it's inefficiant, as it is... rather.... hurting to the people you represent!

Supreme Chancellor: It's what the people wish!!

Cracken: no, it''s what the people TORE from my father. rather violently, might i add. There were not talks, so political envo..

Supreme Chancellor: beccause he wouldn't allow it!

Cracken: Be cause he had the right idea.... *sigh*... let me put it this way.... *takes out a small device* see this? this controls the magnetic shielding in the Crimson Star, over head in orbit. I shut these down, and it's only 5 minutes before the anti-matter goes through the quantum armor. how many people can you get off the planet? in fact, the system? hmm? not many, i'd assume.

*The councle in in silence. they ponder the new threat*

All i ask is that conrtol be once again place in an imperial state. My father was an idiot, i think we all know that, but i learned from his petty and stupid mistakes.
*cracken places a document on the table*
I bleieve i need your signatures.

*One by one, they come, and sign. after 5 minutes, the treaty is legal. Cracken was now Emperor*

good. now, you may all stay here. there shall be no exiling, no executions. no quartering or house arrests. all i ask is a peaceful tansfer takes place.

*they all nod, and leave. The Palpatine line is once again at the throne. Cracken smiles. He places his self destruct detonates in his cloak, and places a small holoprojector ion te table. The signal goes t the capture room. Deac, and his 3 comrades see him. Star kneels*

Well, my friends, it is done. I am the ruler of te galaxy. I could give you all very nice jobs in my new regime, if you wish... a final offer, if you would. but,i doubt you will tke the offer. a pity. so foolish. the galaxy is changing, can't you see that? these... representitives will not be killed. they are my liasons to the people of the galaxy, unlike my father's rigime..
*he frowns in thought*
...... anyway, i offer you one last chance, join me.

07-06-2002, 02:17 AM
Cracken-I have an offer for you. Take this thing out of the system-

*Clicks head and the counter begins*

-Or everybody dies. Simple as that. You have 2 minutes.

07-06-2002, 07:21 AM

OSS: Crackan: Read my last post again. I suspected a trap, I had the entire fleet jump out, most damage you could do is destroy elevan fighters. Which you didn't, Red Nine is Olin Garn, so he got away. Since the squad is all elite I'll give you 5 stops, with 6 getting away. The fleet is safe.

*Flax awakens*

Flax: Ah, so the prodical scum succer is revealed.

*Flax passes though the binder as though it was water, he smiles, and dissapears.*

07-06-2002, 01:59 PM
((OOS: @Flax: Cracken's attack occured about a half a minute after you gave the order for retreat. The fleet couldn't have jumped out in that time, especially since the Crimson Star is large enough to produce a small gravity well. But Cracken's post indicates that he did not destroy all the fleet:
"Then, the Anti-Matter cannon pulsed with energy, and blasted a capital ship to oblivion, the shock wave taking a chunk out of two near by cruisers. The superlasers began to erupt in an impressive display of precision targeting, taking out cruiser after cruiser. then silence. Turbo lasers began licking the fighters and the remaining cruisers."
presumably as they made their escape. Note: This is way too far after Endor for the New Republic fleet to be the same as the one seen in Return of the Jedi, so do not limit your fleet to theirs....it sucked anyway! ;)

Oh and note that the Crimson Star's shields are not down any longer. I noted before that they can only go down in sections, that there are multiple reactors (without convenient shafts to go down), the superlasers can fire multiple times once charged up, and the antimatter cannon does not take a day to recharge. If you people would read over other's posts, you'd notice these kind of inconsistencies between reality and what people's characters (*cough*Starr*cough*) say :p

Battledog: Can you explain how you passed through the Binder like it was water, especially with no access to the Force (you were surrounded by ysalamiri, remember?)

Oh, and Deac: Re-check the continuity outline topic I posted. ^_^))

Starr: *prodding Rwos* Don't you remember? Don't you?

Rwos: *rotating* Remember what?

Starr: The prophecy. What your 'informat' told you.

Rwos: What about it?

Starr: The shadow and darkness falling over Tatooine on its path to the heart of the galaxy. He even gave you the coordinates to the very cantina in which I met Deac Starkiller.

Rwos: *neutrally* You must feel very proud of yourself.

Starr: Don't you get it yet? The beauty of it? I was the shadow, the shadow of the darkness that is my Master. And already we are in the heart of the galaxy, and you are all too late to stop us.

*Deac speaks up, clicking his head* Cracken-I have an offer for you. Take this thing out of the system--Or everybody dies. Simple as that. You have 2 minutes.

*Flax awakens*

Flax: Ah, so the prodical scum succer is revealed.

((OOS: Battledog, in your next post please explain your next action :p))

07-06-2002, 08:02 PM
I'm sorry guys, I have a habit of underwriting my posts.

A jump takes seconds, especially since all I did was have the Def.II target the 'Star with her main guns. I knew the fleet wouldn't stand a chance against the 'Star, so I had the Defiance open the shield and sent my fighter though.

The Cap ships were lined up on an escape vector as they jumped in, so the whole fleet got away.

I'm sorry I forgot to put in *The Fleet jumps*

*Flax smiled, that little elusion running around the Crimson Star should have half the garrison occupied.*

07-07-2002, 12:25 AM
1 minute 50 seconds, don't think I'm bluffing!

Cmdr. Cracken
07-07-2002, 12:44 AM
You destroy the Star, you destroy all the billions of people down on Coruscant. You will be blamed for the death of billions, and your name will be forever washed away into history as shame and horror. Your house will be banished, and dishonor brought to your people. THAT is the consequences of your actions.

*1 minute, 20 seconds*

07-07-2002, 01:29 AM
*Flax has found what he is looking for, a weak minded technition*

*Ilusion: Now go to the holding cell and un lock the binders.*

*The tech goes to the cell and ulocks:

As Flax hits the floor he loses concentration and the ilusion fails, the tech comes to and Deac is left hanging.*

07-07-2002, 04:40 AM
((OOS: @Battledog: Since you didn't say the fleet jumped out, we have to assume that a few cruisers got destroyed before they could escape the Crimson Star's gravity well. Posts can't just be scratched because someone forgot to note something in their post...that's godmode. It doesn't matter anyway, you didn't list the fleet specs :p

Oh, and you forgot about the ysalamiri. However, I can explain that away, so I will. ;)))

*As Starr was questioning him, Rwos had silently activated his (non-Force-based) telekinetic powers and slowly moved the nearest ysalamiri---the one on Flax' cage---safely away. When Flax suddenly passed through the Binder, he'd know the act had had been successful*

Starr: Wh...where did he go?

Deac: *rotated the wrong direction to see* 1 minute 50 seconds, don't think I'm bluffing!

*Cracken's voice answers from the room's open comlink*

You destroy the Star, you destroy all the billions of people down on Coruscant. You will be blamed for the death of billions, and your name will be forever washed away into history as shame and horror. Your house will be banished, and dishonor brought to your people. THAT is the consequences of your actions.

*the timer reaches 1 minute when suddenly Flax, Rwos, and Odin fall from their Binders, and a technician appears seemingly out of nowhere. Whatever Flax had done, it had worked.*

Starr: What in the Force!? *ignites his crimson saber*

*Rwos grabs Starr's throat before he could get out of the ysalamiri's field of effect and smashes him into Deac's binder, knocking Deac down and Starr out of consciousness. He pulls his lightsword towards him from a storage bin at the end of the room, destroying the comlink, and holds back the others* Stay near the ysalamiri! Cracken can't sense us through the Force here---he doesn't know we've escaped yet! *to Deac* Deac! Stop the countdown now!

07-07-2002, 05:44 AM
Flax: So strap on the Yassami and lets move already!

Cmdr. Cracken
07-07-2002, 01:10 PM
*Cracken moves swiftly to the shuttle, he checks his clock. 1 Minute. He boards the entrance ramp*

Pilot, if you value your life, you will get us out of system in less than 59 seconds, understand?

Pilot: Sir!

*The shuttle moves switfly from it's hannger bay, and moves to clear the planet. It breaks through the outer astmosphere into vaccume. 40 seconds*

07-08-2002, 12:29 AM
*Clicks head*

[And here come the words feared by all RPG bad guys-]

*Ignites Sabers*

07-08-2002, 03:18 AM

Flax: Right, if we can get to the com centre I can signal the entire fleet.

07-08-2002, 11:32 AM
Dusting himself off, Odin mumbles: you never got me my ale. Kicks Starr in the stomach and walks off.

"40 seconds remaining" and the Aesirian fleet enters the system. The most noteable of the ships are Two large ships. They appear to be Dragons, with a blueish grey color, and about the size of an SSD. There are also about 75 other ships of various size, all the designs have never been seen by the rest of the galaxy.

The ships come in system on the other side of the planet, which happens to be the flight path of Crackens escape shuttle. Upon entering the system a sudden comm transmission is made from the planet directed at the ships. It is heavily coded, and in a different language.

Vidar: Ensign lock on to that shuttle leaving the system, hold it in a a tractor lock, and do not release him until Odin is on board. Then activate a force bubble, and do not follow any other orders until the first one is accomplished. (Vidar's thoughts: If spies on Corscant are correct that has to be Cracken's shuttle)

The Shuttle is jarred to a stop as ten extermly powerful tractor beams are placed on it.

Vidar: Open a comm channel to the shuttle. I assume I'm Dressing Cracken. If you do not release Odin, and the Einherjar wrongfully capture aboard your vessel you will be killed. If you release him and the Einherjar, we will allow you to leave, and go where you want. The Aesir care nothing about your petty squables over a few planets.

If you do not believe that we will destroy you, I will give you this small warning. nodes to an officer, and suddenly two shots are fired at the shuttle. The first strips the shuttles shields, the second destroys the hyperdrive. You are now without shields, and without a hyperdrive.

Deliver us Lord Odin now or perish.

Vidar now awaits a reply from crackin

Cmdr. Cracken
07-08-2002, 12:52 PM
*Cracken sits, brooding. He takes his controller for the magnetic shields........ he pushed the button.

On the Star, klaxxons sound and lights flash.*

Good afternoon, the Magnetic shields are down. Anti-matter reaction in 5 minutes. Please make your way to the nearest hyperspace capable ship. Thank you
*All across the Star, control panels flash fry themselves. In the bridge, the shield controls explode, and the generators themself explode in a briliant light.*

GO ahead, kill me, you're all dead anyway. 4 minutes, 40 seconds

07-08-2002, 02:12 PM
As the Sanity's Requiem dropped out of hyperspace, things had gone to hell around Coruscant. The Crimson Star was about to explode, perhaps billions could die on Coruscant... and Katani had done none of it. And that thought angered him most. When he saw the fleet that had entered the system in contrast to Lord Cracken, he became enraged. When he saw that his Star Destroyer had left him, he became livid. Someone had to die.

Almost instantly Nuclear shells were flying toward the unkown fleet, but they seemed much more resilient than they looked. Only one ship was completely obliterated, though another dozen were taken out of the battle, crippled. And then, all of a sudden, Cracken's control over his mind ceased. It was as if a light switch had been snapped off, and he'd finally seen the truth for how dark it was. And then, he rememberd his mission:

Kill Deac Starkiller...

And, from the looks of it, Deac Starkiller was aboard the Crimson Star.

So, thought Katani, shall the prophecy be fulfilled. It seems I must destroy the Star and Deac shall be mine. All shall be mine. None shall stand in my way. Death comes to you, for I am the hearalder of Doom, and Sorrow is my footman.

07-08-2002, 05:10 PM
Time freezes.

Katani Chass, cannon raised at the Crimson Star, floats in the middle of space unmoving. The awe-inspiring Aesirian fleet looms above Cracken's shuttle and Katani's Conqueror in midmotion but never gets closer.

Inside the Crimson Star, a brilliant golden glowing ball of light appears above the frozen bodies of Starr Hailfire, Termand Rwos, Flax Talkin, Odin the Aesir, and Deac Starkiller. Then a red light appears, then a blue. The gold one speaks first.

Gold: Once again Starkiller is about to meet death. This time, he is about to go out with the heart of the universe.

Red: Once again we must step in. We cannot allow these mortals to die yet. We have waited far too long and taken far too many risks.

Blue: Have more faith in these mortals. They will find a way.

Gold: No. I have seen it. They will either save themselves, or sacrifice themselves to save countless others. There is no way out for them if they save this planet.

Red: If they choose the latter choice...which they may indeed...they will die. We cannot allow this. We need the Starkiller alive to---

Blue: We have already interfered too many times.

Gold: It was for a noble purpose. The clash of the Avatars has been ended until Ragnarok.

Blue: There may be others available to accomplish the mission---

Red: You know there are none we can use and still remain within our laws.

Blue: If you are concerned about our laws, why did you not consult the Council before this action?

Red: The other Aeges? They would not make up their minds for another millenium. As you can see, there are only three human minutes remaining before our discussion becomes insignificant.

Gold: We can only justify our actions if we wait until there is no way out for them. If they choose to save themselves instead of this planet, then we may forcibly take control of them. If they choose to save the planet, then we will interfere here at the last possible second...and present them with an offer they cannot refuse. Do you agree?

Blue: Them? The Starkiller, the Jedi, the Alien, and the Aesir? What of the Sith Starr Hailfire? By our laws, we must make him the offer as well, as he is tied to the party.

Red: A small price indeed to pay for---

Blue: And the Sith Lord Cracken. The Aesirians assuredly will kill him when they cannot find their master Odin, but Hailfire will need him to function. You have seen he is dependent on his Master.

Red: Then we will make Lord Cracken the offer as well just before the Aesirians kill him.

Blue: And what of the imprisoned Erinhajer? They are as well tied to Odin---

Red: *angrily* Then let Odin take care of Odin's own! Hear me! We shall allow the mortals to try and save themselves! If they fail, then we shall save them from their deaths, and offer them their mission.

Gold: This course of action seems wisest. Now we must leave, and watch.

The balls of light vanish. Time unfreezes. Inside the Crimson Star, Rwos rushes to a control panel.

Rwos: The bridge controls are fried! I can't bring any systems up except---*tap tap* The hyperdrives! Deac! Flax! Odin! I need coordinates to some empty space to hyper this thing to, now!

Suddenly, guards enter the room and fire. A bolt hits Deac square on. His armor absorbs most of it, but it still creates an ionization effect and stuns him. Deac falls to the ground, unconscious.

Three minutes.

((OOS: Deac will be away till the 12th of July and won't be able to post; he PMed me to make his characters inactive somehow. As for the Aeges (the lights) if you're bored enough to find out what they are see the RP threads at RSRP (http://www.lucasforums.com/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=101)))

07-09-2002, 01:15 AM
*Hands Rwos a carbine.*

Flax: Start shooting!

*Flax uses the force to input cowardinates at lightnign speed*

Flax: There are escape pods just down the corridor, this thing jumps in two minutes!*

*Flax picks up Deac and charges down the corridor, twerling his saber as he goes*

*Flax pops Deac in a pod and sets the timer.*

Flax: We need to find Odin's men!

07-09-2002, 04:47 AM
*Rwos is already at a control panel* I think Odin's gone to find them. *taps keys* They're in...Max Security Cell block 06. Holy---the cell blocks are in a vacuum. Sealed...*tap tap* One sec...there. Atmosphere restored. Opening cell blocks...****! I need a passcode!

*Two minutes ten seconds till detonation. 1:35 till hyperspace*

((OOS: Just so you guys know...the escape pods won't get our characters anywhere. They're inside the Super Star Destroyer---the escape pods will eject into the hollow core of the Crimson Star. But I seriously doubt any of our characters are thinking straight enough to realize that))

Cmdr. Cracken
07-09-2002, 05:04 AM
8Cracken sits in his shuttle, awaiting either to be blown away by the mysterious fleet, or to be blown away by the exploding Crimson Star. He looks over to his pilot, who is stone faced. A single tear can be seen running down his face*

You have family.

Pilot: yessir.

A child?

Pilot: yessir. he turns 3 next month.

...I'm sorry. if we get out of this alive, you will never have to worry about money again.

Pilot: Thank you sir. If......

If... i'm sure Deac and his crew will try some fool hardy heroics. They'll probably sacrafise themselves rather than see Coruscant be destroyed. *Cracken looks over to his pilot* and the Empire will be restored anyway.

*Cracken sat back. 2 minutes left. the clock was ticking.*

07-09-2002, 05:38 AM
*Flax has an epiphiny*

Flax: Dam! Hay Rwos, any chance of us popping into anouther dimension?

*Flax races back to the pod and grabs Deac.*

Flax: Quick, to the fighter bays!

07-09-2002, 05:42 AM
Odin reaching the cell block, works controls releasing his imprisoned soldiers.

On the fleet. Vidar looks with pity at the world. Mutters to self, and in flames the Aesir shall perish, and with them so does the rest of the galaxy. Addressing Cracken:

Would you like to go free? To bad, you had the chance, the fact that we will die in 1:30 seconds doesn't bother us. We will die Honorable with our Lord. You will like a fish caught in a net.

Ragnorak has come, the end is near. Flames will consume us all.

(To the crew)Launch the resonate torpedes. First target the stars of the populated planets in the Imperial Remant. After that target the stars of the most populated planet, including our home system.

Thousands upon thousands of torpedos are seen leaving the Aesirian fleet. In a flash the torpedoes enter hyperspace heading respectively to their target stars

I will explain to you what we just launched. These torpedoes cause a star to go nova, within moments. They have hyperdrives so they will reach their destination in a matter of days, or hours. At the moment they are not armed, and nothing will happen. These torpedoes are programed to send a signal upon arriving asking for further instruction. If no instructions are sent then they will carry out their primary mission and detonate in the star. Obviously when we are destroyed no instructions can be sent. The galaxy will be destroyed, because of you.

Your Empire will never rise again, life as we know it will no longer exist. Everything will be cleansed in a holy fire.

07-09-2002, 06:36 AM
*30 seconds till hyperspace*

Rwos: Of course! *grabs his teleporter from his belt* Why didn't I think of tha---oh...SITHSPIT. I am...the biggest fool in this universe.

*Rwos takes his teleporter's beacon's from his pocket* I expected to kill Cracken and be done with this dimension. My teleporter can't take us anywhere else in this dimension, and it won't teleport me home for another six hours...gah! *Rwos stumbles as the whole ship trembles. Five seconds---time had run out.*

*The Crimson Star jolts again as its massive hyperdrives kick in. Outside, the Aeserian fleet sees the moon turn into a blur and vanish into hyperspace. Forty seconds remain till detonation. The Aeges invisibly watch everything...*

((OOS: Did one of you try to PM me? Because if so, I didn't get it...I got the alert, then the forums went down and when they came back nothing new showed))

Cmdr. Cracken
07-09-2002, 09:07 AM
(OOS: Those renosance torpedoes are headed to every Imperial controled world, right? That means Corellia, Mon Calimari, Tatooine, ect.. are all sltaed for destruction? GOOD JOB))

07-09-2002, 10:13 AM
((OOS: Well they won't necessarily get destroyed; it'll be a few hours for the first to reach the nearest planet and the Aeges are likely going to interfere in about forty seconds))

07-09-2002, 12:31 PM
((Thank you. That is correct, the basic idea is if Odin is going to die then the Aesir plan on taking out the rest of the galaxy with him. Also Vidar has no idea about the Aeges so he doesn't know of any type of interfernce that could happen. Like I said before the Aesir almost cherish death, to die for Odin would be a great honor to them, since they are not affliated with any other dominate power they do not care about the rest of the galaxy. However as Redwind pointed out the planets are not necessaryily doomed. As a safeguard the torpedoes can stay in a dorminate state, after being fired if the proper commands are sent.

Redwing, I also recieved that pm alert, but nothing happened....))

07-10-2002, 03:03 AM
Flax: We can get to the fighter bay, which only ten decks down, and steal some fighters, then, when the 'Star reverts we launch.

*The party begin to head for the hanger, luckily they find some fast V-38s, they board the fighters launch, as the ship reverts they leave the hanger, headed for the outer crust.*

07-10-2002, 06:55 AM
((OOS: error, error :D

A) We didn't find Odin and his Erinhajer.

B) V-38s have no atmosphere, like all TIEs.

C) Rwos can't fit into a TIE flightsuit. He's got a beak, wings, a tail, and is almost seven feet tall :D))

*Flax takes off in the V-38 he'd found. Rwos carries Deac to his fighter and loads him in as fast as he could move. Odin had ten seconds to show up...

No. Ten seconds left...there was no way they'd make it. They could perhaps get out of the Crimson Star before it blew, if they could make it to an exit chute. But they'd just be annihilated in the following antimatter explosion.

It was too late.

At least they'd managed to save Coruscant...one consoling last thought.

Then, mysteriously, zero didn't come.

Rwos stared at the timer for a full minute, trying to comprehend it. Then he looked up.

Stormtroopers and other Imperials filled the hallways ahead, running...except not moving. Nothing moved except Rwos, and Deac, who still breathed, unconscious.

In the hallways above, Odin and the Erinhajer also found themselves the only creatures left in motion.

Flax noticed that the TIE droid fighters around him were frozen in midflight. Only his V-38 still moved.

In the Crimson Star's command chamnber, Starr Hailfire wakes up with a frozen medic above him, face stuck in a panicked expression.

((OOS: Admiral, up to you whether to keep Vidar or your fleet unfroze. Cracken, same for your characters. Time should be frozen for everything and everyone else, though.

Note: the 'irl' reason for this is because Deac won't be back till the 12th, and he made the mistake of telling me to be creative ;)))

Cmdr. Cracken
07-10-2002, 01:03 PM
*Cracken looked at the counter on the console in the shuttle. Odd, he mused, and he looked to the pilot.*

Pilot, run a diagnostic... pilot.. pi...

*He noticed a tremor in the Force. He looked out the view port. The traffic above Coruscant was frozen. He looked around, got up, and walked to the back. He pressed another console, and it didn't respond. The tremor was getting larger. He sat down, dizzy. It was.... painful. he tried tomove back to the cockpit, but he couldn't make it. he fell, and passed out.*

((OOS-- This allows the whomever to make contact with Cracken.... and i got nothin' better.))

07-10-2002, 01:21 PM
((Vidar, is Odin's son, so since he is so closely connected to Odin, He should remain unfrozen, however the rest of the fleet will be frozen. Redwing can the Aeges transport a person? I would like Vidar to meet up with Odin if possible))

As Vidar waits patiently for the end of all things, he notices something strange. All the Aesir have stopped moving. Puzzled by this he walks acrosss the bridge, wishing to be by Odin's side.

Freeing the Einherjar, Odin notices the discrepancy of motion and freezing. Deciding to find Rwos and Deac, he heads towards the hanger.

07-10-2002, 02:43 PM
((OOS: Yes, they can---in fact that was the reason they were invented, to correct earlier continuity errors caused by RPGing the same continuity in two different forums (this and RSRP) with multiple threads. ;)))

*Starr Hailfire feels his master's pain and it reflects on him. He stumbles and falls to the floor*

Starr: Master!

*as if on cue, Cracken's Lambda shuttle materializes silently inside the chamber, filling fully half of the room.

At the very same moment, Vidar materializes inside the Crimson Star as well...right at Odin's side.*

07-11-2002, 08:19 AM
Vidar: Father? Are we dead?

Odin: I do not know, come with me.

Odin finally reaches the others.

07-11-2002, 08:36 AM
Rwos: Odin! You, too? *notices Vidar* Where'd your friend come from?

Starr: *the pain subsiding* ...Master? *Starr reaches up and cautiously touches the shuttle's side, as if afraid it would burn him*

Cmdr. Cracken
07-11-2002, 08:41 AM
*Cracken raises himself from the floor. the pain subsided, he glanced at the clock. still one second. he sighed in vexation, and looked out the viewport. he was inside the Crimson Star. how in the Sith did he get here.....? he felt Starr reach out to him. he took out his lightsaber, and cautiosly started to cut through the steel plates in the floor of teh shuttle. after realizing he wasn't hallucinating, he finished his hole, and jumped down through. Starr bowed before him, and Cracken looked around cautiosly.*

rise. do you have any idea what is going on?

07-12-2002, 05:56 AM
Flax: *over comm* What the SITH is going on!?

07-12-2002, 02:39 PM
Rwos: *over comm* We're trying to figure that out, over.

*Deac stirs*

*Starr rises. His master couldn't be right here in front of him...it was impossible...but this was no illusion. And Starr was a master of illusion.*

Master. ...I have failed you. Somehow half the ysalamiri died, and one of the Jedi managed to escape. He freed the others using an illusion, and the gargoyle defeated me while I was helpless in the ysalamiri field. I was knocked unconscious, and I awoke to see...this...

*Starr gestures around the room and into the hallways, with all the people in midmotion but unmoving*

And I wished to be in your presence...and your ship appeared...

*Starr looks incredibly confused*

07-13-2002, 01:25 AM
Whoa...what is going on? How long have I been out?

[Thanks for the help, Redwing!]

07-13-2002, 01:08 PM
Well time appears to be frozen, then my son Vidar suddenly appears. So far we can move around but nobody else can. We can also move items with an effort.

Where is Flax?

07-13-2002, 03:30 PM
((@Deac: No problem ^_^

And go read the Continuity Outline topic again...))

Rwos: He's stuck in some sort of tri-winged TIE just outside this ship...moon. I think he would have been the only one of us to escape...if...

*comms Flax again* Flax? Can you fly? Eh...your fighter, I mean?

07-14-2002, 01:23 AM
*Flax fires his burner.*

Flax: Yeah, but it seems sort of sluggish, like walking though a bog.

07-14-2002, 02:49 AM
*Deac suddenly becomes alert and kneels*

It's like before...do they want me to be Starkiller again?

07-14-2002, 05:13 AM
Rwos: *somehow startled by the idea* Do you think...

"Well, no. Sorry to dissapoint you. But I'm sure you'll settle for being a Dark Lord of the Sith?"

*Rwos and the others whirled to face the voice behind them. A creature stood there that certainly didn't belong on an Imperial Star Destroyer.

It looked like a small dinosaur crossed with a human. It had clawed raptor feet and a five-foot tall upright body, balanced by a long tail. Its flesh was dark, almost jet-black, rimmed with green. On top of its body perched a confusingly humanoid face with large, intelligent, mocking reptilian eyes. The creature gave a parody of a sigh.*

"So how do you feel, everybody? Deac? Termand? Odin? Vidar? Oh wait...we're missing a few here, aren't we?'

*The creature snapped his fingers. Flax appeared out of nowhere next to Deac. On the other side, Starr and Cracken materialized.*

"There we go! Much better. We've got Deac Starkiller, a pansy Jedi with delusions of grandeur....or rather, a mass-mudering Dark Lord about to finish the Sith army's takeover of the galaxy. Next we have Flax Talkin, a petty commander who thinks he can combine military power with Jedi power...or rather, the last, tired general of the Old Republic with repressed Force sensitivity and a few weeks from killing himself rather than submit to an enemy that far overwhelms him. Next is Termand Rwos, a contradiction in himself: cautious and intelligent, yet absurdly stupid and gullible at the same time. You don't even belong here...and guess what? You never did stay. You came and left without a ripple...just like you intended."

Rwos: What...are you talking about?

*Creature* "Don't interrupt me, I'm not finished yet! Next in line we have six Aesir. How does it feel to have obliterated 80% of the galaxy's known intelligence life, Vidar? And Odin, how do you call yourself a hero when you set up the universe for annihilation? But don't worry! None of that ever happened. Neither of you, or your flunkies either, ever existed.

And lastly...we have the two current Dark Lords of the Sith. Cracken, son of Palpatine, the pretender to a benevolent despot. Do we see a contradiction here? And his apprentice Starr Hailfire; say Starr, have you had a single thought of your own volition since age six? No? Didn't think so. But..surprise! Neither of you exist anymore, either.

And here's a real mind-bender: It's all your fault."

07-14-2002, 09:17 AM
*groups of people run around the roon in circles*

okay, no point in that. :D but thought it would be funny...

07-14-2002, 09:59 AM
((OOS: Everybody else is all frozen in time...so that would be kinda hard ;)))

07-14-2002, 10:42 AM
Odin: YOu managed to target 80% of the galaxy? Very good son. Who ever said anything about being a hero. It was fortold that my death would beacon the end of the galaxy. My loyal subjects follow that prophecy. Besides if we don't exist then nothing was done and this won't matter either.

*punches Starr*

That was for being disrespectful, be happy I don't let my men indulge themselves.

Now Lizzie what do you want.

07-14-2002, 11:28 AM
*stunned by Odin's punch, Starr quickly recovers* Disrespect!! *ignites his saber and lunges for Odin, only to be stopped by an invisible wall now separating Cracken from the others. The creature looks estatic*

"Wonderful! Wonderful! I just love the old Aesir. Such arrogance! To believe that one insignificant creature's death could herald the end of the entire galaxy? Delighfully audacious!" *cackles with delight* "I suppose to properly proceed I'll have to tell you about the glorious New Reality.

"The Jedi were killed off long ago. When the Sith, the army of fallen Jedi, came to the Old Republic, they found little resistance of consequence. They are currently within months of total control of the galaxy, lead by---guess---Dark Lord of the Sith Deac Starkiller himself. Beautiful, isn't it?

"Poor Flax is weeks from suicide. Neither Cracken nor Starr exist. The Aesir are nothing more than savages quarantined on their backwards planet that no one really cares about.

"The Sith have mass-warped millions of non-sentient species into their private army of nearly unstoppable savage animals. Millions more people are being wiped out every day in the bloody planet-hopping fight for the core. And the Republic isn't so great either---their latent xenophobia has kicked in, and hundreds of entire intelligent races are being exterminated every day; and it wastes valuable resources to go directly to the planets of 'primitives' and exterminate them for taking up more valuable resources. Those few that escape annihilation become races of slaves. It's all quite wonderful!

"But what do I want, you ask? Sadly...I am here to offer you the chance to undo it all." *spreads his hand wide and smiles a hideous smile* "I want to help."

Cmdr. Cracken
07-14-2002, 11:42 AM
*Cracken tries to speak, but no sound.... damned thing silenced him. and he was going about some alternate future.... and him, being a POOR SUCCESOR TO HIS FATHER! this burned him, more than anything. he as BETTER than that stupid man. more intelligent, more pandering to the people for show. all for show, that's what he really learned. give people a good show, and they'll fall right into your hands..... he sighed. *

"But what do I want, you ask? Sadly...I am here to offer you the chance to undo it all." *spreads his hand wide and smiles a hideous smile* "I want to help."

*What?! help? how could he help? there was an alterior motive, he knew....some about this creature didn't feel right... something... elusive....*

07-15-2002, 02:57 AM
*Deac explodes in anger*

Dark Lord of the Sith?! I suppose Syrnl's the Angel of Redemption then?! And what the hell are you?! A refugee from a poor holo-flick?! Help?! By the gods, I don't know what you want, but you will never alter the past. It cannot be done.... *Deac then remembers all the time's it his been done to him *....easily...

07-15-2002, 08:48 AM
*the creature laughs* "Oh, it can be done, and easily. However, my master the great and powerful Craynoir is bound by the same rules that bind your gods the Aeges in their cosmic chess game to affect the fates of the galaxy. Nothing you primitive apes would know about, or even be aware of...except you two, Termand and Deac. If only your friend Corzip was here, the time-jumping trio would be complete. But the point of this...is a device called the Time Matrix."

*Rwos takes a startles step forward* That's a myth. No such device ever existed...

"Oh, it existed. It exists. It was found by the changeling apprentice of Reletha Darkstar, Deac's very own niece. How did he find it? Why, because of Odin's son's little blunder; he destroyed the system it was hidden on. Ironic, eh?'

Starr *suddenly finding himself able to speak again*: What---does this have to do with any "new reality"?

"Well, this Darkstar, who uses the name Ken'atra Sorack, has used the Time Matrix. He has traveled backward in time and is changing historical events. He has rewritten the past in an effort to save his family from the Aesir's lovely Holocaust and bring about a victory for the forces of the Dark Side. Along with magnifying the evil that flows in undercurrents in the established Republic. None of these other yous that exist in this reality are aware that life is any different. Not that half of you even exist! It's quite glorious!"

07-15-2002, 12:00 PM
((I assume the future you have changed was were Odin did die..., since no systems were yet destroyed, and no blunder as far as the aesir are concerned.))

Odin:So we are left alone. Obviously we don't care about the rest of the galaxy. We like our solitude. So why should we help you? In other words what is in it for us?

Also if you say our lives, please not, that living is not a major concern for us. Oh, and how insignificant is a person who's death will bring the end of the universe?

07-15-2002, 12:54 PM
Katani Chass slowly awoke, shaking the cobwebs from his brain. He'd had another of the nightmares again. In this one, he'd been traveling toward the Crimson Star, weapons primed and feeling great. He was bearing down upon that dreadful Deac Starkiller, ready to kill him, when it jumped to hyperspace and left him alone with that strange alien fleet. They'd launched those terrible warheads, and waited. Then everything had gone white. He'd woken up again.

Twenty years after the Galactic Holocaust, the destruction of 80% of the Galaxy's inhabitants, Katani Chass was a hero. Well, sort of. The Conqueror had lived up to it's bill of being indestructible, surviving the wash of explosions that had wracked the Galaxy. He'd stood alone, amidst destruction untold. He'd battled the Star... many of them. Each explosion had been a battle, one for sanity. When the mind control had gone out, he'd found out that things were far more vivid than he thought them to be. The outside universe didn't compare now that he could truly see... and his thirst for death was no more. And so, when the stars had all exploded, when things had all gone, he'd found himself unplugged. He was in a recovery center on Coruscant, the only untouched major planet. He'd spent the next 19 years recovering, both from the mind control, and from the shock of exploding stars. And so, when he'd finally been given a clean bill of mental health, he'd headed off to the Senate building, to see if he could be given a reparation job.

When he arrived, they told him that there was much he could do, but since he was seen as a hero by the surviving peoples everywhere, they wanted to keep that image. So they'd revealed a secret that very few knew. After the Galactic Holocaust, they hadn't destryoed all weapons like the Conqueror, although some had been. But his, on the other hand, had been mothballed, in case he was able to recover. And he had.

They then informed him of the death sentence imposed upon the Aesir, and how it had never been carried out, as they were too powerful. They needed someone to go and exterminate them, and since he'd been brainwashed before, they trusted him to complete that mission now. He was more than happy to oblige.

So that was how he'd gotten here. He'd taken to falling asleep during hyperspace trips... a habit he wanted to break, but couldn't. Again he'd dreamt, again a habit he wanted to break. But now, he was ready to pull out of hyperspace, and into another system, looking for more Aesir to eliminate. All he'd run into so far had been a few border patrols, nothing major. They had of course, all died.

As he entered the system, he made a quick scan. Nothing particularly exciting just the novatic sun, and dust where a planet used to be. Well, except for what appeared to be a ship within the dust... a shimmering globe just taller than a man. He headed closer to investigate.

*the creature laughs again, maliciously*

"Hate to burst your bubble, silly Aesir...but you were killed. In one second from now. And the galaxy lasted twenty years before the Darkstar discovered the Time Matrix and began his journey backwards.

"There is nothing in it for you. Nothing but the prize of continued existence. If you do not help, the Aesir will stay savage, underdeveloped barbarians, likely on the way to extermination or transformation to a slave race in a reality where you never existed." *hideous grin* "And if you don't help, I'm perfectly fine with that. I don't want you to help. The Aeges are the ones who required your presence, not my great and powerful master Craynoir. If it was my decision, Cracken and his flunky would be the only ones sent. But rules are rules..."

I've only changed one word---'exhilirates' to 'accelerates' ;)))

*Ken'atra Sorack is studying his technical readings in his small spaceship. A strand of black hair keeps dangling in front of his face and he moves it and traps it behind one of his pointy ears. He appears to be mostly human with very pale skin, but a few minor details here and there quickly destroy that assumption. First off he has vampire teeth and his eyes are a crimson red that change color with the light. His ear, as mentioned before, are pointy but barely visible because of his shoulder length hair..

If inspected more closely one can note just a hint of horns jutting out from underneath his hairline. Why he chose this form he doesn't really know, it just struck his fancy at the moment, but the pesky hair might need to go soon. It keeps getting in the way. The only thing that stays constant is a small gold locket that he always keeps around his neck. In it is a picture of the family that was so dear to him until they were ripped forever from his life. Well, he's here to change that.* ....

If I don't die of boredom first... *As if on cue a light starts to blink and he excitedly looks at the instruments* Could it be? *his eyes sparkle with joy and they seem to turn almost black and he starts to plot. His ship accelerates towards an object on his screen and his eyes narrow as he chuckles* Finally...time to collect my prize.

((edit, OOS: In case this is confusing, the above (and superthrawn's post) is taking place 20 years into the future, in the normal reality where everyone got killed. (:( ;)) )))

*Strangely, a hawk flys into the area and lands on Deac' shoulder, and crows into his ear, then flies away*

Farewell, Blade Father....

All right, how do we stop this madness?

07-16-2002, 02:36 AM
((Superthrawn a couple problems.

The Aesir are now dead. They destroyed their home world, in the holocaust. Those off planet, would have either killed themsleves, or died in the explosions of other stars. Only a few Aesir survived since they were chosen in a prophecy.

Coruscant would not have remained untouched. Look at the character of the Aesir. If their lord was going to die then basically everyone was to die. They wouldn't have left the most populated planet untouched. Especially if they were in the system at the time.

As such, to keep your post more or less correct.

With the Star leaving the system at the last second, the Aesir attacked the planet. Given the advanced weapons, Coruscant was devistated, but left intact.

What your character has destoryed were empty ships, the crews already dead. The gov. would obviously not know that the Aesir are not dead, so they would still send you on your mission.

The remaining Aesir are now far our of reach of any power in the galaxy, and if we go with this time line they have a very important role still to play. Also believe it or not the Aesir are actually not evil.))

((forgot to post a response to redwings post))

Like I said, we do not care about death. The Aesir, will kill themselves before they become slaves.

Now you just want my enemies, which makes you my enemy. You still haven't told of us of your mission. So I will not agree with something I do not know. I might agree, if the galaxy can be saved, and your two friends are drawn and quatered. But first the mission?

((Coruscant was untouched in this reality. Explanation: A remaining Jedi on Coruscant pulled a Dorsk 81 and flung the fleet away via the Force, killing himself (and perhaps most of the Aesir) in the process. My original explanation involved a somewhat different image of the Aesir, but the above is a nice canon explanation for it that still fits with the Aesir, keeping the mistaken death sentence.

As for the Aesir 'scouts' being destroyed, presumably the advanced technology of their ships kept them in such good condition that Katani thought they were 'live'.))

((I like that explanation as it fits better with Superthrawns post, so combine the two and we get:

The Aesir are pushed out of system, with most of their ships damaged. To that end they follow the prophecy and all but the chosen destory themselves.

Like I said, the ships were there, but the crew were dead. So to keep with the loyalty of the Aesir.

However Coruscant can't remain completly untouched. They imported much of their food, and other surrplies. So eventually famine would strike and many would die.))

OOS: Admiral, that's an issue I intend to discuss in my new spinoff RPG Postlude to Holocaust on RSRP. Check it out for details, but I was planning to get to that point.

07-16-2002, 02:05 PM
((You're right Admiral. I meant physically untouched, not unharmed. And we need to transfer this discussion to the appropriate place.

Oh, and note that the lizard creature takes the idea of the end of the galaxy far more straightforwardly than the Aesir, which is why he thinks you are so arrogant. That, and he likes needling))

*The creature cocks its head towards the mysterious hawk, chortling* "Did I hear a bird chirping?"

Rwos: Why would you help us if you like what's happening?

"It's all part of a deal. My master, the great and glorious Craynoir, and the meddling nitwit "gods" the Aeges, creators of the Avatar nuisances, have a deal. Neither of them really approve of a not-quite-sane Darkstar posessing the most powerful device in galactic history."

Rwos: So...you think this Time Matrix could endanger the "great and glorious Craynoir" himself?

*the creature laughs* "Don't be a fool. Nothing threatens great Craynoir. However...one doesn't want mere baboons blundering about with Time Matrices, does one? Oh, sure, it's all fun and games when they end up causing genocidial wars or engendering mass race hatred, but who knows what other damage a fool with such power may do?"

Rwos: Why can't the 'Great Craynoir' just freeze time and take the Matrix himself?

"Mighty talky, are we now? Mm, well...rules are rules. Neither of our masters can directly interfere in that way. Thus---"

Starr: You mentioned a deal.

"Yes. A deal. And here it is. The lot of you, minus the Erinhajer, will be allowed to follow the Time Matrix. The Aeges back Deac, Odin, Vidar, Flax, Termand. My master Craynoir backs you and your master Cracken. The two groups of you will each try to get to the Time Matrix first. And whichever of you gets it can either attempt to save your reality, put everything back where it should be - or try to shape it to your own choice.

"The Darkstar set off on his journey one week ago. You will be translated forward to that point and then the quanta that make up your atoms will be...tuned. Yes, that's a good word for simple minds to comprehend. You'll be fine-tuned at the subatomic level to resonate with the movements of the Time Matrix as it travels through time. Your memories and personalities will, of course, be buffered. Protected against changes."

Rwos: Resulting in what effect?

"Resulting in the effect that, like an echo, you will follow the Time Matrix. It plucks the chords of time and you reverberate." *the creature stops and shakes his head in apparent admiration of his own words. "Brilliantly explained, eh?"

Rwos: ...And...

"And if the two Sith here get the Matrix - Craynoir wins. You and your friends get it - the Aeges win."

Rwos: Are you insane?!? If you think we're going to risk the fate of the whole galaxy on beating two---

*the creature laughs* "You aren't going to risk the fate of the galaxy, little fool. That's already been done! And you're right, there is a little fairness issue. Two Sith versus five 'heroes'? Thus, all your abilities will be dimmed. In 'fairness', you won't be able to engage in a telekinetic Force battle over the Time Matrix, or see who's faster with Force speed. And as for you, Termand---" *Rwos' teleporter appears in the creature's hand, and he 'pockets' it in a nonexistent pocket* "No cheating allowed."

*An oversized holographic timer appears around the creature's wrist* "You all have to decide. Two minutes. Ticktock, ticktock. Then time restarts, and all goes back to what it should be. Tick. Tock."

*The creature is gone as suddenly as he appeared. Flax and Cracken have a sensation as if binders were falling from their mouths*

((OOS: My explanation as to why you didn't reply directly to the creature :D))

Edit: Grammar

Cmdr. Cracken
07-16-2002, 09:25 PM
*The creature ddissapeared, leaving Cracken in a dull silence. he nods to Starr, and they drop quietly into the backgroud.*

My apprentice, do you remember what i said about opporitunity?

Starr:when ever opporitunaty strikes, take it?

Yes, this is it. we do as the creature asks, except we use the Time Matrix to go to the battle of Endor, where my father will die, but I will rise on Coruscant. The Empire will still be maintained, and teh Star activated.... yes....... we will go along with this.
*Cracken approaches the main group, involved in thier conversation*

We have decided to go after this Time Matrix. I wish you men the best of "luck".

07-17-2002, 01:29 AM
I will always stop a Darkstar. I'll play your game, win, and blow you back to the hells.

Let's do this.

07-17-2002, 02:29 AM
Lets see, the galaxy is destroyed, so why. Maybe we will find some good ale.

07-17-2002, 02:16 PM
((OOS: "why not", Admiral? If not correct me))

I'm not sure this is a good idea. How do we know we're being told everything that's going on here? And how exactly are we going to fix the past? I mean, exactly...? Does one of you have a complete history of this galaxy stored in his head? How are we going to fix history if we don't know how it's broken? And how are we going to interfere just enough to stop this Holocaust from happening, and keep our history intact at the same time? And that's if we manage to get the Time Matrix in the first place...!

We're not invincible, you know. Just look at where we are...

07-17-2002, 07:27 PM
What's the alternative? Dark Lord Starkiller destroying all? Only humans existing? No more episodes of Star Trek?!

07-18-2002, 04:44 AM
((no it is why, he got side tracked with thoughts of ale. Um, non of your characters wonder what the holocaust is? Odin, Vidar, and Cracken would know but that would be it.))

Well we get this time matrix go back to when the Star was being built. We destroy it then and there. With that done there would be no holocaust, as such there would be no finding of the time matrix. I assume that the Aeges would fix the time loop....

07-18-2002, 05:07 AM
The creature said we would be protected against changes. That isn't the point. The point is, how do we know when the Star began to be built? You know, the moon's been there for a long time. How are we supposed to destroy a moon on our own steam? And don't say "The Force"; you heard what that creature said...

*looks suspiciously at Odin and Vidar*

What was this "Holocaust" he was talking about? 80% of the galaxy's intelligent life?

07-18-2002, 10:11 AM
Oh, did I forget to mention that if I die, the galaxy is doomed? It was prophised a long time ago that my death, would bring an end to our galaxy. Apparently I've died. Only I haven't, so accordinly not the entire galaxy is destroyed. My people call this Ragnorak.

Simple way to stop the star from becoming active. Destroy the system. Not very hard for my people. Of course I would evacuate the people if ir was right to do so.

07-18-2002, 10:50 AM
((OOS: Where on earth is Battledog? *stall stall*))

*Rwos stares at Odin in bewilderment, then shock*

You mean to say that your race is really trying to destroy the entire galaxy when you die? To fulfill some "prophecy" from "a long time ago"? Are you completely insane?

07-18-2002, 11:21 AM
Watch your mouth boy. You talk of what you do not know of.

We are not trying to destroy this galaxy. However we are prepared to do this. All life will be removed in a blink of the eye. This has escaped the attention of the rest of the galaxy but a final conflict with evil is brewing. I left Asgard to investigate this, only to be told of the Crismon Star. I'm no longer sure we shouldn't give the galaxy a giant wake up call now.

07-19-2002, 02:00 AM
Calm it-we're all fighting on the same side here.

07-19-2002, 10:55 AM
Were is the other one?

Cmdr. Cracken
07-19-2002, 11:51 AM
Look, we all want the same thing here. You want the past fixed, i want the past fixed. the last thing i need is some Jedi wanna be *glares at Deac* to go mucking around and destroy my existance, or some hell bent prophetic no-force users destroying the galaxy *Glares at Odin*

so, with that out of the way, i say we all just get along for about however long it takes us to fix whatever we need, then go back hating eachother and me trying to kill all of you. horrifically. k? I think that's best. whatever disputes you now hold with your brothers in arms can wait. in fact, i think *takes out small Holoplanner* after we're done here...... i can hold off killing you all for... at least a week. that should give you all time to sort it all out.

*motions* shall we get going?

07-19-2002, 01:07 PM
((The Aesir can use the force, the only thing is that they are neither Jedi nor Sith. Also I'll say this now. Wed. I have to have surgery so I may be out for an undetermined period of time (at least a few days).))

That is fine by me, oh and please remember that I will kill you before this is over.

07-19-2002, 05:44 PM
((OOS: Well, when the Matrix jumps, you won't all end up in the same place. You could be maybe half a mile apart even. It's random in that way.

So we'll assume Battledog said yes (since he seems to be on vacation ;)) and he just ended up in a different place then us. Same with Admiral's characters.))

*Starr glares at Rwos* And for the trouble you've caused me, alien, I'm going to kill you personally.

*Rwos just looks at him warily* Whatever. Obviously, we don't have much of a choice. But I want one thing first. I want to know exactly where the Darkstar is going, and what he is intending to do there. *yells* In other words, you stupid lizard, I want to know what is going on here!

But he was yelling it to a large creature that seemed to be made entirely of stone.

To Be Continued
