Well, the map looks good so far, but I've been spoiled by MP because I keep getting my a** handed to me by the reborn, because I'm hitting my MP controls by force of habit. Oh well, time to get reacquainted with SP saber techniques. GREAT MAP!!!

Very nice. The map looks sharp. I loved the premise, even if it seemed a little remote, a cloned and resurrected Vader :)

Thanks for the feedback! I will make a multiplayer version soon! :)

A good map, but not a great map, and I'll tell you why.
First of all, you replace several skins/models... this is a big nono in straightforward SP maps as it can screw up people's models in other maps not related to yours.
Second, Vader was way too damn hard. :p
For this to be a great map, it needed to be set up like a MOD (like the Tavion map)... then it would have been great.
Not a nice singleplayer adventure like some of the mods that will be coming out later, but a great map regardless. :p
Oh, and good job with the scripting. The real credits gives it much more an air of professionalism. :D

Yes Vader is difficult for some people. But for people like me the only reason I made hom so hard was because I found myself sometimes killing him to easy. So... I boosted his health amongst other things so he would be a real challenge for any player. It all depends on how good you are at the game.
As for it not being a singleplayer adventure well its like a boss level that has been attached at the end of one. And anyways it's my very first map!
As for the model replacing thing well all they have to do is delete it and install it at a later date. I've even had someone who played the 'pit' level only to find that Desann was replaced by Vader and the Reborn Fencer was now a turbo charged Advanced Reborn and said well he didn't mind.
Still... Thanks for your positive comments anyways. :D

Dood great map but common vader was a pain in the ass!10000hp????????that is muck considering that he deals smthing like 100 dmg to u.i mean even if u r realy good a single shot would do the trick(kill u)
anyway i found my self taking more time on breaking the pipes beetween the mainframes than fighting vader or protecting master skywalker(master?we doesnt even shoot lightning).thought the pipes were a trigger for a quik kill(maybe vader was a robot after all).
anyway really really cool map...
ps.were is tavion in the whole story?

ok just downloaded the map and cant even move before it tells me that luke has been killed and the mission has to restart. This may be my computer as I just upgraded to XP. I love the premise of the map though well thought out and executed very well.....Now if only I could play the darn thing

I've been getting allot of people telling me Vader is too hard. Perhaps I went over the top with the hit points. Originally it was Luke with 3000 hp and Vader with 6000. It was hard for me to get the balance right. Sometimes Vader would keep attacking Luke while you stab Vader in the back and then he would die pretty easierly. Sometimes Vader would kill Luke too quickly. Vader does not have 10000 hp he has 8000.
If your having problems (this goes for everyone) then I suggest you open up the Pk3 file and look for a file called NPCS.CFG. Look for Desann's health and edit the number in that file. You may have to extract the folder first.
As for Tavion she is not in the level and I don't know where she is in the story I haven't thought about that.
Oh and by the way if anyone HAS completed it (I hope someone has) please let me know! :(

saying vader is tough mean he killed him in the end else we would say he is impossible....ok but it gets on my nerves that i cant ESC the credits!!!!!!!!!!and after mainframe i played the ladder...i didnt make it past the fenser

If you want to quit the credits either:
1.) press your "use" key to fastforward them
2.) Bring down the console and type QUIT
Hope this helps

i tried the /quit cmd but i doesnt seem to work on sp...
and i must really be a jerk for not trying the use key....

Has anyone beaten Vader yet? i keep getting kiled with two strokes.:D
06-21-2002, 05:54 PM
i killed the fat smegger
i attacked then jumped away while lukeypoos attacked and then when vaders back was turned to me as he was attacking luke i pushed him then doa'd him
then repeated it about ten times
voila, one dead dark lord of the sith

The map itself was good but the level sucked to me. I couldnt even get passed the reborn before the level ended since luke and vader are already fighting. The furthest ive gotten in that was i killed the reborn then luke killed vader. One time the second i started the mission failed. That was a very bad point in the level. Very nice backstory though.

i liked the map design, and the reborn was cool. i think making vader so tough was a really bad decision, took the playability straight out of it for me. Had to resort to cheats to beat it, which is not a good sign id much rather have a proper lightsaber fight against the Dark lord of the sith than have to resort to some cheesey lame way to beat him. Because of this i dont think id ever play it again.
Very good for a first effort though.

the author was probably woriied about luke and vader killing each other before the player defeated the reborn and got a chance to put a swing into the Dark lord himself
thats why they have so many hp
but he shoulda just given them a spawnscript that made them invincible and then made a second script that set them to normal that was activated by a trigger brush the player crosses when he gets up the lift

Do you think I should release a version 2 of the map. Maybe add some more stuff and do the scripting that was suggested. Come to think of it I might make it larger were by you start where you land and then you have to go through this base and eventually end up at the mainframe where you meet Vader.
I knew I should of released a Beta first before an official release. Oh well back to the drawing board.
Any ideas and feedback would be helpful!
