Thats pretty amazing. The exact same thing happened to me.

My friend let me borrow it and I figured I had not interest in cartoons.

But that film was truly great. It got me into anime.

Im sad to hear that no one mentioned

"Ninja Scroll". Now I'm sorry but that had to be the greatest
I've ever seen. Getting past the bad endings in about EVERY
manga movie, its really a classic.

Also samurai X is one of my favorites.

Sorry, I already got my anime boards I go to ^.^ So I'll just chat away about anime here ^_^

And about unliscenced fansubs, hehe, true. Good source of getting anime before it gets released here... if it even gets released here. (Why the hell aren't more companies intereste in buying the rights of anime series & manga, slapping subtitles on them without giving them the horrid dub treatment and release them on DVD, I'd be so much happier ^.^)

Just saw about 15 eps of Scryed, I really recommend it, very much I like it indeed :)
