It has probably been asked before, but will we be able to have two sabers or a double ended one. ?

They would be cool high level skills. Construction of a double bladed lightsaber and wielding 2 lightsabers or a lightsaber and blaster at the same time.

K i found this interview with Gamespot and Bioware.... heres some qotes....

"GS: How many weapons will be featured in the game?"

"MG: We have a full complement of melee and ranged weapons. So like blasters, rifles, swords, double swords."

If Double swords means the same as light saber then its gonna be in there... and heres the website i got the interview from...

Don't you think they probably meant sabers when they said swords.

Are there actually metal swords in Star Wars? Anyway dual sabers would be cool.

Norin Radd

I've never seen any metal swords in STAR WARS. Indeed, the most primitive weapon I've ever seen were in ROTJ with the Ewoks. However, this is 4000 years before Episode I. I'm thinking they just meant lightsabers. In any case, the Bioware guy who called lightsabers swords(if that was what he meant)should be given a good smack across the face.:D

Com Raven

you all wrong !!

the sith used steel weapons, and they even could learn to deflect shots with them...

They had vibro-blades also which were metal. They weren't mentioned as much as vibro-axes but I remember young Obi-Wan having to use one when he didn't have his lightsaber.

i think steel blades suck reminds me to much of highlander :o
besides a lightsabre could just swing through it and kill 'em as for steel blades deflecting blasters :p

Hmmm. So what I'm reading here is that you may be able to construct your own lightsaber? That would be nice, though I have been keeping abreast of KOTOR information and i haven't heard this. If you are able to have a double ended saber, I'm thinking it will be if you decide to follow the dark side on your quest. Just an observation from a n00b.;)

I'm thinking the Sith Lords most likely, since Exar Kun was the first one to use a double-ended saber, it has been associated with the Sith. However, you never know. . .:D

It would be very interesting to be able to create a lightsaber as I have read you'll be able to in SWG. I think it would also be helpful if the devs would keep an eye on these threads and would say something every now and then. I think the posts that are on this site show some excellent ideas and topics about and for the game.

Com Raven

well, the devs look at their own, official boards...

and if DB-LS would just be for Sith, well, it would be pointless to include them if the player can't get them...

IMHO
I think constructing a lightsabre could play a crucial part at the beggining of the story and it could help determine sort of early on what type of jedi u will be e.g double bladed or single, different colours. Also it could be a fun mini game to try and have some training aboard your ship reflecting shots from the training orb/droid. These small touches are what id like to see because doing this make the game feel realistic and extremely playable.

e.g. bungie are well known for depth ingame alla marathon or halo

:)

I hope it's early on. Remember the JK2 levels before the lightsaber? :barf: I doubt you'll be able to build a doubl bladed saber early on. It seems as though something that would come later.

Also someone mentioned SWG will have lightsabers, the good thing about KOTOR that if you want to be a Jedi you'll definitely be one. Instead of spending months paying $9.95/month wanting to be one but struggling through it. I don't have a problem with the way the set it up (it actually makes sense because of the time period), I just wish the game was set in the TPM time period so that those who want to be Jedi can. Remeber Ultima online? They though no one would want to be farmers but many people appreciated role playing and were happy to be farmers.

Not that I doubt anyone here, but how do you know that we will be able to construct our own sabers?

Have double edged sabers?(where is this interview)

Be able to choose what color saber we use?

Just point me to the information, I would love to read it.:D

constructing a saber isn't sure, but they hinted at it in the dev chat...

choosing color, well it's a hope, nothing more so far...

db-ls, Casey Hudson, Bioware's producer said they have them in a post on the official boards a while ago....

yeh ok......duel and double sabers would b kool
but that might b a bit ott
there are metal long swords etc in the SW RPG
but nothing beats a saber
is the single bladed saber part of the jedi order because none of the jedi carry double sabers in any of the star wars uni?

This is true in SWG, as u can become a Jedi later on in the game, but you have to do a certain thing. But it is weird, as you have to go round looking for the stuff to make it. Read it in PCZone

I just hope they do the lightsaber combat system justice - maybe like in JK2 because thats a really good system. Also I hope they integrate force powers well and allow for specialsims in certain areas of the force.

Don't be too suprised Raven, Have you ever played Obi-wan for
x-box?

You couldn't be darth maul in multiplayer and aside from the fact
that game sucked, you couldn't use his weapon.

But nonetheless, only time will tell.
