is it possible to open a map already made, and put the outrider into it?
My friend wants to replace the Lady Luck on the Episode 1 level with the outrider, cause it looks more like the ship my Jedi uses in our RPG

06-19-2002, 08:38 AM
You'd need to get the .map file from the creator of the map you wanted to put the ship in, or have him do it. You can't modify existing maps in bsp form.. =/

MAN i cant wait to play the game with this thing in the hanger. hehe
i dunno if i should post about my RPG here or not....anyways,nice job...later!

You didn;t give the resource pics people (including me!) were not mentioned in your READ ME. You are dead to me now!

06-19-2002, 02:58 PM
Sweet!! Now I can fix that Gall Spaceport map!! You are the man!!

06-19-2002, 09:49 PM
Ooh! The resources! Ack! I forgot. I forgot the thanks section. Buh. I feel dumb now. :o I'll see about getting you added to the readme on JediOutcastMaps.com, and everyone else who helped. Gimme a couple minutes and I'll have an e-mail sent. Sorry about that! I'm kinda new to this. :(

*** Edit ***
Okay, e-mail should be sent. Now all that needs to happen is for jedioutcastmaps.com to update with the updated readme. Sorry about that again. I wrote the readme in a hurry, just to get it done. :o

This is an excellent prefab!! Two thumbs up!!

You gotta try to make a better Mellenium Falcon! The two that were released are good, but only if you were to use it for far away shots. If you get up close it's not only small, but out of proportion. Plus you can't enter either of em.

The challenging part is trying to get the inside to fit into the outside (ie. read the tech. diagrams) ;), but good luck!

I d/led it, but when I put it into a map to test it(gotta make sure you didn't mess up :D) Two things happened, neither of them were very nice.
1. I got the missing texture texture in some places.
2. I saw overlapped brushes.

2. isn't so bad, but 1. sure is. Any idea on how to fix this?

Missing textures? Did you put the outridertext.pk3 in your base folder?

I'm aware of overlapped brushes(Unless you mean where brushes are in the same spot and the textures get all screwy looking and it's all ugly, but there shouldn't be any), they are overlapped galore on the outside of the ship. Seemed the best way to get it correctly shaped. :( And, seeing as this is my first real map(I've played around in Radiant for a few weeks prior to the outrider), well, yeah. I layered brushes to get the right shape and used quite a few..

I checked over this thing many times to make sure it looked nice and ran well, but not necessarily built well. I think I've acheived both.. If not, post a screenshot of where things are messy, and I'll try and fix it. I've worked on it for a long time, and, feedback is good. I feel it is complete, but, if it is not, please, prove me wrong. :) I might go test it on my brother's PC later, tomorrow or something, but, I dunno if I'll have time.

Oh, also, on the Millenium Falcon subject, I thought about doing one, but someone's already got a good start(I dunno if he's still working on it, let me release a few actual maps and then, if there's no news from him, I'll start one). Same with Slave 1. I was gonna do it, even began to start, but, Manquesa is dowing an awesome job.

Yes, I did put it in, I'll go check now if you want...

Yup, it's in there. I'm not sure what to do...

I wanted to use it in a hydrobal arena I'm working on(yup, I ditched Mimban Temple till I finish one of those) Thought it might be cool as scenery. But if it doesn't work, well, you get the picture...

Grets get a life. Antilles is back stop bothereing him geeez!

I dunno what's wrong. Is it my custom textures that are missing? The shots on Jedioutcastmaps.com indicate I did everything right, I see all the textures. I don't get what could be wrong.. Do me a favor, open the outridertext.pk3 and list off all the textures in there.

I'm still working on it :D
I've been too busy designing real planes to do much work on it the last couple of weeks tho.

plan on doing some stuff on it this weekend hopefully.

Just had a look at the outrider, nice work. all the little details like the legs look really good. their the bits that annoy the hell out of me in mapping.

06-21-2002, 12:55 AM
That's good to know, saves me work. :D I'm lazy.

Ugh, I'm gonna get even lazier with mapping, I should be getting Neverwinter Nights later today... :o

That's okay! I have a lot of spare time!

Untill I get a job, anyways.

06-21-2002, 10:11 AM
In GTK Radiant, go File --> Load. I think the same can be done in JO Radiant. I dunno. I use GTK. =P

06-22-2002, 01:23 AM
I'll try since I have both JO and GTK so thnx.:)
