I've been bored so i decided to modify the previous katana mod a little bit better. I really don't know if there is any interest for this kind of mod anyway, here a lits of features i've edited/modified, it doesnt list all modifications but the most.


* Sabers are replaced with Katana swords:
- sword sounds
- dismemberment (optional)
- blood effects
- First person katana battles (optional)
- Dead bodies and limbs will remain longer on the ground

* Animations:
- Replaced primary jumping animation
- Replaced the backworth roll animation

* Dismemberment now works in multiplayer:
- Clientside dismemberment can be set in the Clientside Options menu
- Serverside dismemberment can be set in the Advanced Server Settings

* Other server/menu options:
- The Taunt key is now bindable from the Setup->Other menu
- g_saberghoul2collision, g_slowmoduelend and g_forceregentime are added in the Advanced Server Options
- Added alot more clientside cvars, they can be found in
Setup->Clientside Options

* Misc stuff:
- Removed alot of sounds wich made Katana battles unrealistic
- Removed alot of Lightsaber effects wich made Katana Battles unrealistic
- Bots do now accept private duels in any gametype

Maybe someone would be kind enough to make some nice screenshots? i don't have any yet.

Feedback/bugs/wishes/ideas/flames/comments are all welcome.

PS: don't take this mod 2 seriously, i made it cuz i had nothing todo ;p

did you make the animations your self.... I need some help with the ones i am doing for my mod that I hope to have released as beta somethime in july..........

how di dyou keep the npc corpses lying around longer? i wanna do it for SP.....

after charging someone and disarming their saber arm, i turn and prepare to take a screenie.

only to notice the arm and hand holding the saber already dissapeared hahahah.

through code my friend, i have yet to find out to do it in SP i dont think it's possible without code.

It doesn't work. I install it and there's no katana folder or mod or anything...

Subject, that mod is insanely cool...It's very nice...I have one suggestion though...

Can you make the Katana's a little shorter and a teensy bit less curved?? They are way to long and look goofy.

The sounds however are top notch. And maybe the inclusion of a few ninja or samurai skins?

It doesn't work. I install it and there's no katana folder or mod or anything...

Make sure you installed it 2 your JK2 directory, eg. x:\jk2\gamedata\katana, if there is no mod dir in your jk2 dir after the install then the default installation path is different then the path where you installed JK2.

does this mod work in sp ?

Yes it does, the onlything is that the code changes i made won't work in sp, because the source code Raven released is MP only. Other then that it works fine.

I Got ICQ, although i dont use it much, u can PM for more info, BTW, i'll release Beta 1.0 of Katana Battles this week.
