this is probably a restriction of the quake 3 engine, but is there a way to do a true ss mod where you don't have to dl anything? i just tryed the Vulcanas Admin Mod (http://vulcanus.its.tudelft.nl/mars/jk2/mod/) and it's excellent and all, but clients would have to dl adminmod.pk3. more than likely, there's no way to do this, but i thought i'd ask the experts. i am starting to learn c just so i can edit jk2, so hopefully you'll see more of me. also, off topic here, but what's the command to enable ghoul anims on a serv again?

Yes, you can run server-side only modifications. If the .pk3 has any client-side files then it'll be sent if they don't have it.
