i suppose fire is done by a shader. but where is it? can't find any..

it is NOT done with a shader but with a fx_runner. place a fx_runner in your level and give it the key fxfile. for the value pick a file out of your base\effects\env folder.

It can be done with a shader! But it will look a little sprite'ish.

I think badakku's post just wanted to help and show him that Raven does it with fxrunners now, rather than telling the one who asked the question that it is impossible with a shader.

well in fact I didn't know it can be done with a shader because I never found one, so where is it?? :D

There isn't any, but you can create your own ;)
I used a fx-runner feature and then brought up the Entity menu by pressing "N". I added (Key: fxFile; Value: env/fire) to the fx-runner. Next add a target for the fx-runner to point at such as pointing straight up. I do not have any screenshots at this moment but I will add them later if you wish to see. :cool:
