little help on background.

I am trying to make a big background *outside* and i want to have a feel like it is outside and there is no walls but If I go bigger i get pitch white does any have a idea where i can make a good background without makeing it too big?

Put the ground in your skybox. Don't actually make a ground if its that far down. :)
