View Full Version : sounds like running in water
I am new to mapping and have been following richdiesals tutorial the most and has been the best help. I have almost finished my ctf map and i compiled it and put it in a pk3 file to have some friends do some beta testing for me and give me some ideas. Any way when you run around it sounds like you ar running in water. The oly places i have water is under the flag platforms. Any ideas what might be causeing this would be really helpfull.

what textures are u using. because i have heard tat some of the textures. not sure if its yavin or not.
anyway. i have heard that some of the textures make it soundlike your walking on water.

or one of the other leet mappers
I cant rmember now, they are from either yavin or kejim. I liked the diffrent textures from diffrent areas so they are all mixed up. I am at work right now so i cant test it. Thanks though hopefully someone will know for sure, because i have been working and tweaking for 2 weeks now and finally able to start testing it.

i think thats a problem all mappers have (its a bug in the jk2radiant and raven should do something against this) --> the prob iz, that some shaders (especially the floor_textures of kejim and imp_detention) create the water-noise --> create a small clip_brush (i hope you knoe ehat i mean) (perhaps 1 unit thick) and lay it on your floors (or on the areas, where the watersound iz); i had to do the same in my map

Ok thanks for your help but since i used that texture for 90% of the floors on map i will just retexture them from bespin or somthing. Again thanks for everyones help in this matter the splashing water was driving me crazy.

I got that from a kejim shader...
i just changed it
